Anyone ever do this?

Nope, I married my wife and moved in with her last summer and if anything my collection is better than it was before. She even helps me out and buys me a few things as surprises. She just bought be an Arkham Asylum Zsasz for my birthday in May and I have been hunting for it for over a year.

As far as embarrassment goes though, I couldn't be farther from it. If anything, when people come over and ask what my hobbies are, I immediately take them up stairs and show them my collection room. All of my closest friends understand it and fully support my hobby. If people can't support it and find it weird or a waste of time and money, then I don't need to worry about their opinions.

So, bottom line is that, you shouldn't feel embarrassed about your hobbies. People who care about you will accept you for who you are

I thought the question was going to be had any of us moved in with your girlfriend. And the answer to that was no.

But seriously while I kept plenty of my old childhood toys I did give plenty including all my LJN, Remco and Hasbro figures to my cousins before I got married. I really didn't go crazy with collecting until after I was married. My collecting really started on our honeymoon when I got the BTAS Batman figure in a McDonald's kids meal. Then when we got home I decided I had to have Playmates Star Trek TOS Bridge playest and Hasbro's Batman TAS. And it hasn't stopped since. lol

Outside of a couple BCA figures (Bret Hart, blue trunks Warrior and SS Triple H) I didn't even start my WWE collecting until I saw the "House of Pain" series Triple H.

I understand where you're coming from. I know that not everyone is comfortable being an adult and collecting toys. I think it wasn't until I was around 25 that I finally become comfortable with it. I turn 28 in December. Now I go to hobby stores looking for things and if any worker ever asks what I need certain items for I don't hesitate to tell them.

However, I think your main issue is that you don't want people coming into your home and judging you. But you have remember that it's your home and you should feel comfortable displaying things you like and enjoy. Many action figures, especially the one's aimed at collectors, are just as acceptable to display as a painting or sculpture... and not at all different than showing off your DVD/Blu-ray collection.

I do respect your thinking when it comes to being mindful of your spending on your hobby though. That's just something you have to do when you're a responsible adult.

Also, if you're worried about space, I would say to invest in something like what's pictured below to store your figures. I've had one for about two years and it makes a big difference!

I've never really stopped collecting. Around the time that I was hitting Jr High and High School, when everyone else had quit playing with their figures, I didnt. Granted by that time the only playing that I still did was wrestling, I slowly got out of playing with my GI Joes, Turtles, X-Men, etc...but not wrestling. After I graduated, i still got them out and had a few matches each week because it was fun. I played with BCAs and later Deluxe Aggression, but collected TTL and RAs, as I liked the look but didnt enjoy playing with those lines.

When Mattel took over, I slowed down my collecting. It was hard to make the switch after investing so much into my Jakks collection, and honestly I wasn't blown away by the first few Mattels. So I would buy people that we didnt get Jakks of and a few others here and there. But as Mattel kept putting them out they won me over and I regularly collect again.

So I think that I kept playing with them for so long it kept me into collecting. My wife doesn't mind my figures, as long as I don't go crazy with buying everything and as long as we get the bills paid. She's even started collecting the Diva figures.

I started to collect when my now fiancée was still my gf and I was very nervous to tell her I was collecting wrestling figures. I finally broke the ice to her one day by showing her the 30 or so figs I had amassed at that point and she was really accepting and got right into the collecting with me. She bought me all of E26 for Christmas and is constantly telling me about figs she sees on eBay. We just moved in together and she helped me display my figures the way they should be displayed (which I should probably post on here at some point). I would say don't give up on your hobby. You'll regret it in the end.

I have been concerned alot of how they would think, One day I actually texted a whole bunch of my friends who are girls and asked them how they felt about a collector or wrestling fan. Some said they wouldn't really care and others like or dislike. I mean, they should really respect every thing about you and like you for you. There will be the haters and the lovers

I stopped collecting when. Mattel started, joined back in 2013 and have about 250

In 2010-11 I liked the ecw toy belts so I bought those and I remember seeing elite 4-8 and stuff

Nope!

If my friends or family dont like my figures then the door that brought them into MY place can take their asses right back out. As for the bills, I always budget my bills & savings before buying figures so I never get into any tight situations. Thats just common sense.
