I'm really happy with the direction Benning is taking the Canucks. Very good draft this year with Virtanen, McCann and Demko. We now have one of the best forward prospect groups in the league. Next year, time to stock up on defence. I'm hoping we can acquire a top 6 forward, and i think we'll surprise some people. Future looks good. Dallas is the team to beat, in my opinion. They overpaid for Miller... I do not like the direction they're going.

Detroit re-signed Kyle Quincey.
I quit life.

Sabres signed some good veterans today but they're still gonna suck next season...and I'm okay with that.

Our prospects are gonna shine soon.

Nothing but crickets over here...damn you Homer. They re-signed Razor, signed Zepp and Blair Jones. Hextall waited until the end to make a big splash in FA! They got the pieces needed to win the Cup this season! ... hahahahaha

No complaints here with the Hawks signing Richards.

I knew Philly was the City of Brotherly Love, but Ottawa? Oh Claude, you silly goose.

I almost spit out my drink in laugher reading this! Just heard on ESPN radio Chicago that the Hawks are close to resigning Toews. If it doesn't happen today or tomorrow it will probably be right after the holiday weekend. That would make one big signing down, one big signing to go.

I doubt they have the cap to keep Kane around though.

Some of the deals were just absurd.

I doubt they have the cap to keep Kane around though. Yeah...I'm worried. It will show what kind of player/person he is. If he is determined to continue winning cups, he will take a lower pay instead of forcing the Blackhawks into being in a position like the Pens...two players at max, two very close to max and then a bunch of AHL contract players who, no matter what, will have to go when their rookie deals are up unless they agree to be paid chump change. Should be interesting.

Should be interesting. I've always been more of a Toews guy than a Kane guy. Toews is the guy who is easy to love. He works hard, stays out of trouble, & is all about his team. He offered to give up his name on the Stanley Cup last year because he thought Jamal Mayers name should be on there. He's a total class act. Then you have Kane, the guy who has proven time & time again he likes to go out & have a good time. Sometimes being where he shouldn't. He has a little arrogance to him. He's good & he knows it. With that being said, he had a GREAT season & he knows it. I fully believe he'll make that known in negotiations. Stan Bowman has been a great GM, & I could easily see him let Kane walk out the door before he allows him to cripple the rest of the team. Toews is the captian, Kane is the superstar. I'll take leadership over star power if I have a choice.

Well I'll be damned, the Hawks pulled off both Toews and Kane extensions.

I mean, they got .5 million more a year than what I was saying, but I'll take it haha. This is the most important signing in franchise history as far as I'm concerned. Stan is going to have tons of work after next season playing with the cap but that's a price I'm willing to pay. Locking up Saad longterm is really going to have to be a priority and worth losing Sharp or Seabs over next year imo. We shall see. Amazing news either way.

$21 million for two players. Something about that doesn't sit well with me. But hey, I'm not a Hawks fan so it doesn't matter.

$10.5 million each? Wow, the Sabres top 2 forwards don't even make that much combined.
