(A few days late) but still. HAPPY 25th BIRTHDAY GHOSTBUSTERS II.
In celebration, I've gotten everyone a free thermal mug and balloons for the kids.

I just took in my monthly viewing of this movie a couple of weeks ago. I've come to appreciate Janosh Poha as one of the hidden gems of the flick in my older years.
"Where are you from, Johnny?"
"The upper vest side?"

"The upper vest side?" Everything you're doing is bad. I want you to know that. Easily one of the best lines in the movie.

The He Man reference in this movie always confused me......Ol He Man was gone out of style HUGE by 1989. Though I suppose they couldn't list GBs mortal enemy the TMNT.....
Always enjoy GBII. Disheartens me to hear what a knob Murray was onset because he didn't want to do it and of course the special effects issues are the stuff of legend.
But its always an enjoyable watch for me.....LOVE the montage when they come out of the Courthouse and Janine answering the phone saying "Yes...we're back"

Screw giving those to kids lol. We want them for ourselves!!!! What I wouldn't give to have my 'real ghostbusters' lunchbox, ecto-cooler hi-c punch, & tuna fish sandwich with Doritos on top right now

Primarily they were between director and special effects supervisor over what was desired and what was achievable. ILM actually got so f*cked up with all the changes they told them "that's it....you have what you have....make it work" there were so many changes made there are supposedly heaps of A1 visual effects shot and not used for the movie. For instance.....when Vigo is set to remove himself from the painting he is meant to peel himself from it slowly in a very creepy scene, instead of just materialising as he does. There was an entire subplot dropped because of SE issues. This being Louis Tully trying to trap Slimer. Murray also wanted this dropped because it hinted at a sequel. Murray was adamant there would be NO sequel. Another scene had a possessed Ray trying to kill himself & Winston in the Ecto-1 by crashing it on one of NY's Bridges. man there's heaps......I think AICN did an article recently revealing some, I heard one of the lads at work talking about it.

Interesting. I do know during the "we're back" montage scene, they show Ray driving the Ecto-1 and Peter looking at him confused like he's driving crazy. I guess that was the possession scene which got cut. I love the movie but always felt the end with Vigo was very anti-climatic as they just hose him down with slime and the painting explodes. Meh.

Yes that could be it!! Yeah the end is a touch anti climatic. Vigo was easily beaten in the end. The actor that played Vigo actually walked out of the premiere when he seen his voice had been dubbed over. He was meant to have been absolutely ENRAGED by the change.

Always love reading about problems backstage at movies. Like The Incredible Hulk with Ed Norton. Murray must be Norton's hero!!
