To split a torso boil the fig for about 10 minutes. let it cool down for a bit. then once it's cooled down take a screwdriver and put it in the crack of the shoulder joint and push on it. putting the screwddriver in the shoulder will give you lot's of leverage. repeat that for the other side. to split the top just take 2 screwdrivers and put then down the middle of the torso. putt them in opposite directions and the torso should split fine. don't rush when splitting a torso, take your time and it should work.
to remove a shoulder just boil the arms and take pliers make the pliers grab onto the shoulder and pull it off. it should be really easy to do after it's boled. i hope i helped.

Exactly, what does boiling the whole figure do? The body itself is made of a more durable plastic than the limbs, so it won't go soft like the limbs do.

I think the idea behind boiling it is to soften up the glue.
And if its your first time splitting one, start on one you dont care about because theres a good chance you might ruin it.
