During an appearance during the recent Wizard World Comic-Con held in Philadelphia, Batista confirmed a Fall WWE return. Batista, who has not been seen on WWE television since June 2, was asked if he would be returning to the ring following his current promotional tour for “Guardians of the Galaxy,” in which he responded with a resounding yes.
Batista, who’s last match was at WWE “Payback” on June 1, “quit” WWE during the June 2 edition of “Monday Night Raw” in order to be written off of WWE television. “The Animal” is currently engaged in promotional dates for his role in the upcoming Marvel film, where he plays intergalactic thug-hero-alien, Drax the Destroyer.
The former WWE Champion was also asked if he would be teaming with or battling against his former partners in Evolution upon his return. Batista responded with a smile and teased that there would be interaction in the ring between himself, Triple H, and Randy Orton this Fall.
With WWE Creative wanting to “stack the deck” for “SummerSlam” and “Night Of Champions,” Batista is expected to be back with the company in time to compete at one of, if not both of these events. WWE is currently looking to book “Night Of Champions” as sort of a WrestleMania-esc “mega-show,” in order to get current subscribers to the WWE Network to sign a new agreement for the service, as well as bring in new subscriptions altogether.
You can watch part of Batista’s Comic-Con Q&A below.

But surely we knew that anyway. What with his multi year contract and the like.

Not surprised at all. I've expected him back by SummerSlam.

The Night of Champions news sounds quite promising.

They should probably put him against Lesnar when he returns.

Batista vs Brock Lesnar. It's something I want to see. I just hope Batista can stay in good shape to where he isn't running out of energy not even half way through.

Keep him heel for the love of God. He kind of turned when he left though. So he could likely come back either way. I think he sucks period but Lesnar vs Batista would be a marketable match Brock isn't going to be a face.

It's sort of a rock and hard place because you essentially have a big marketable showdown but they're both natural heels. Batista might get more of a fan reaction after Guardians comes out though and he won't be facing Daniel Bryan this time around. I think the options are to either have Batista work as a face, Randy Orton tween style, or pass on a Batista vs Lesnar showdown altogether.

If it comes down to it, might have to rely on Heyman to sell Batista as a face. His heel promos for Brock could make people cheer for anyone that opposes him.

Lesnar vs Batista at Night of Champions? It's a match I've wanted for ages(along with Sheamus vs Lesnar, that would be physical as !).

Really? Cause I was sure he actually quite on live tv, breaching his 2-year contract that he said he signed before Royal Rumble.
