It's still a horrible gimmick. It better lead to Cody turning and us getting Rhodes/Rhodes at SummerSlam.

I think it's just plain weird. He just became a weirdo who runs around in a Rockstar Energy can.

Hey WWE, ever have a thought of pushing Cody instead of a dumb Stardust thing.

He bombed when they dropped his Dashing gimmick imo, the guy could have went places with that, the crowd bought into it and he was getting over till that 619 to the face.
Now he is Goldust 2.0 and will do nothing in the long run, yea he's entertaining now but give it a year or until Goldust isn't on TV anymore, then it'll be another gimmick for Cody which will most likely be a shell of what he could've been

Stardust is the first time Cody has been interesting since 2008.

Stardust is a reason Cody should still have a job. Grotesque Cody Rhodes and Stardust. The only times he's ever been entertaining as a character and really makes me appreciate him as an asset to WWE.
Sadly its probably only a gimmick for the summer but I think its an attribute to Cody's work ethic. He might not be showing consistency, but he's showing that if you really give him something to sink his teeth into then he just might hit it out of the park.

I think that's it kinda weird.
With that said, I think it's pretty cool. He looks goofy as a mofo but he's entertaining. He is showing a Goldust kinda side to him that everyone always liked Goldust for, and besides, Cody has a pretty decent sized fan base. If he can get really over for awhile, then completely turn on Goldust as cerebral as possible, because he can be a good heel, him and Goldust would have a great match, and I already know that they would. Goldust would really put him over. Hell make it a career match.
Because if I were in that case, I know, that if the company I worked for allowed it to happen, that my brother would put me over in the best way possible

I love the well thought out and articulate responses. The "Stardust sucks"...not so much. Welcome to Wfigs the internet.

I can't stand the character. That said, I am a huge Cody fan, and he is proving how good he is in this terrible gimmick that the fans couldn't care less about. I hope this doesn't last long, and hope against hope that somebody is noticing this untapped talent. He was hot after last year's MITB, so he could have been a great face, but that was sort of derailed by the fired gimmick (and to a lesser extent being stuck in another tag team). Now on the precipice of the anticipated Goldust feud he becomes Stardust and gets put back in the same tag team that went as far as it could possibly go. If this isn't leading to a heel turn then I don't really know what the hell they are doing. As much as I hate to say it this would be a perfect opportunity for a heel Cody to take Barrett's spot. It would be pretty easy for Cody to drive this Stardust characters back to creepy, psychotic heel Cody Rhodes in the end. Just sayin'. I remember reading somewhere (and take this for what it's worth) but that they were going to see how the Stardust gimmick got over. If it did, it could lead to them having another run with the tag titles. If it doesn't get over, then it would lead into the Cody/Goldust feud we've all been waiting for. Personally, even though he pulls it off incredibly, I'm not much of a fan. I'm still waiting for a hopeful heel turn in the future.

So Cody has the Goldust-type mannerisms down to a tee. He does everything perfectly and he is once again making a gimmick work. He owned the "Dashing" character, he made "Undashing" awesome and he made a stupid mustache work. Cody seems to be able to take anything and make it work, which is a credit to his talent. Am I disappointed because I wanted him to win Money in the Bank this year after last year's performance? Yes. Could it be worse? Yes.

Its just pointless to me why they are continuing this character for several reasons, some which have already been mentioned on here.
First off its just a bad rip off of the Goldust character, which hinders both wrestlers imo. It makes the Goldust character less special and unique and also makes Cody Rhodes who is genuinely a good wrestler look like a giant goof and poor impersonation.
Secondly as aforementioned, what will Stardust be doing once Goldust disappears. Dancing with Santino and Khali, because once again, it is a poor play off of an original character and no one will care about Stardust without Goldust. This is the kind of gimmick that a career never comes back from. Look at Santino, they actually pushed him as a decent wrestler in his first few months, now hes nothing more but comedy for the children. This will be what Cody is doing if this gimmick lasts much longer.
I said it before and I'll say it again, Rhodes was doing fine in his feud with Sandow and face turn before Goldust came back. Then as soon as they won the Tag Titles it was all over from there. He was just part of another tag team getting lost in the fold with the Real Americans/Usos/Shield/Wyatts/Outlaws getting more time than the tag team champions. Goldust coming back (while entertaining for about a month) effectively is killing Cody's career more by the minute. He is pretty much cancer for the career of Cody Rhodes. If anyone else has a better excuse as to why Cody went from huge face and main eventing SD, to getting lost in the tag team shuffle, to now being nothing more than an 3-5 minute attraction flopping around on Superstars or the piss break on Raw/SD please enlighten me.

I want this to turn into Goldust turning on Cody in a "heel because he has to" way, saying Cody doesn't need to shackle himself with this gimmick in order to gain his acceptance (or whatever), and that he'll have to beat that into him. I want heel Goldust in the pay-off to this.

It has saved Cody to be honest. This is the first time he has been interesting since 2011.
