Mattel obviously does make some sort of effort to make sure paint jobs, joint tightness etc are good. This is evident by the amount of "unspeakable" figures that show up on eBay. If you look closely at those figures, they all have paint issues or don't even stand up straight. Now this at retail is unacceptable, But I think we probably need to remind ourselves just how important we(collectors) are to mattel. They care about kids going in to stores and buying x,y & z. And i'm sure mattel's thinking is that kids are gonna bash these figures together so what does it matter if there is already the odd mark or smudge on the figure when they get it. Like those that have said above that they don't even notice, little kids sure as heck won't either. ......But a $30 shipped RICK FLAIR on line exclusive is not a kids toy. Shouldn't it at least be error free??

Can't be any worse then Jakks. I still remember when I got a Rey Mysterio figure back in like 06 and there was a live bug in the package. I threw the figure out and wrote a angry worded letter to them. Someone could have repacked it, but still, crap was nasty. Also remember when Jakks were like $7 and $10 bucks... but yeah a bug is inexcusable.

Shouldn't it at least be error free?? Don't get me wrong, I am completely against these errors and don't think they have any place on any figure of any price. My point was solely about the importance of collectors in the eyes of Mattel. Online exclusive doesn't mean it is not a kids toy. Whether you call them wrestling figures, action figures or dolls, they are still all toys. An online exclusive is only more expensive due to the cost of making it and the extra accessories it comes with. Mattel is a toy company that is all about making money, and seeing as people still buy them with flaws I can't see anything changing anytime soon. The only way would be for people to stop buying them but this would come back to bite us all in the ass cos instead of fixing flaws they would probably just drop the line. And their reason would be due to "poor sales", no where in there would be any mention of due to "flawed figures". Fingers crossed Mattel sorts this out. I am like all those that get really pissed at flaws. Even more so being an international collector where all my figures have to be purchased online. Meaning its basically impossible to get a replacement figure when you pull one out of the box and its leg breaks off. Its no fault of the guy who sold me it on eBay or where ever. At least your flawed Ric Flair figure only set you back $30 including shipping, for me it was $60 shipped!!

Yeah I feel for you on that $60. I was so excited when I finally saw that Amazon package at my door only to end up disappointed at what was staring at me. an eyebrow missing, sloppy painted hair lining, black stained check wearing, styling and profiling Naitch!
