Enzo, In Italian it means ''king of house''. Or Hound of Justice. Justice would be pretty damn cool on its own.

Mean Gene.....
Then, every time you call the dog you can say "Meeeeeaannnn..... whooo! By God, Geeeeene!"
Double A would work, too.... "Let's go, Double A...."
I'm not sure of too many Ric Flair "dog" analogies....
I'm surprised no one suggested the obvious yet....
"Old Yeller".....

I used to have a lizard called Shango. I also had a a really lazy cat called Finkle.
I think both were pretty apt.
It all depends on the kind of dog for me and how it will grow with the name (apologies if you have mentioned this already). Some people don't care about this kind of thing but I also think it depends on the personality.
My friend had German Shepard. It was sooo the opposite in terms of character. Completely up its own arse and if you tried to command it to do something it would give you a look as if to say 'no chance, I've just had my nails done'. It would strut in front if other dogs with its nose up, complete nob. Anyway, he toyed with changing its name (early on) to Martel.

Brought the little monster home last week. We decided to go with Piper and I believe it's very fitting to his personality! Thanks to everyone for the suggestions. Much appreciated!
