For some reason I didn't really get into Cena vs. Rock. The buildup was just a bunch of nonsense trash-talking. I get that it was all they were able to do for the feud but after awhile it was complete overkill. By the time there was a year build-up, I just wanted the damn thing to be over with. Don't even get me started on the rematch. Freaking awful. I'm right there with you on the rematch. I do agree that some of the promos and what not were a little overkill but like you said it's all they were able to do. However, I completely bought into the whole "once in a lifetime, icon v icon, era v era, etc". During some of the video packages it made me realize how "monumental" this match was going to be given how vital both of these guys were to the product during their given reigns. In hindsight it was all for nothing but at the time they hooked me. That's right. It was promoted as "once in a lifetime" but it should have really only been once. Having the rematch was pointless and killed that moniker. It was a waste of a Wrestlemania main event. I'll get alot of crap about this but Punk deserved the main event that year and should have closed the show with Taker. There was no reason why Rock and Cena should have closed the show in a mediocre match.

Yes and no, their first match wasn't that great so it should have been expected that their second wouldn't have been that much better but then you start to get into the argument of "should the championship match always close a PPV? Especially Wrestlemania". Obviously their first match is the counter to that argument but unfortunately we got the same match the following year with the only difference being the title.

Best feud of the PG era you ask....?? Well that one is quite simple really.
It's John Cena vs. The 18 - 34 year old male demographic WWE fan.
That feud has been going on since SummerSlam 2005 and it doesn't appear to be slowing down.

Can't believe nobody is mentioning Orton/Christian from 2001. Besides Christian loosing the majority of the matches the feud was great. Slowly watching Christian lose it every time he failed to reclaim the world title was great stuff and he played the weasel role to perfection. IMO it was a better booked feud than Cena/Punk and the whole "Summer of Punk" in general.

Their match at Money in the Bank and Summerslam was awesome. I thought Orton was at his best during this time (I always hear people want to work with Christian, I think it was Batista who said that during an interview).

When did the PG era officially start? I'm not too sure. I watched it on and off so i'm not sure. But Christian and Orton was great. The first Rock vs Cena was a great build up. And both HBK vs Undertaker were really well built to amazing matches.

Christian has a ton of respect from his fellow workers. During the summer of 2005 Batista said that Christian is one of the more underrated performers and that he should receive a main event push. Last year Orton said in an interview that Christian was one of his favorite guys to perform with and that he never has a bad match. Dean Ambrose is another guy who said he'd like to feud with Christian and that everyone on the roster wants to work with him. It blows my mind how much respect he has from top guys yet was still treated like crap by Vince all these years.

I get that he was supposed to be the weasel but I would've liked it if he was able to pin Randy Orton in some way even after cheating.

When did the PG era officially start? I'm not too sure. WWE went all-PG around SummerSlam 2008.
