I'm sitting here on the WWE Network watching Summerslam 2010....so almost 4 years ago. Watching Sheamus vs. Orton. (BTW Orton looked a lot leaner and cleaner back then, he should return to the shaved head/no wrist tape look. it fits him MUCH better)
Right at the beginning of the match they lock up a couple times, then Orton comes back at Sheamus with punches & kicks out of the corner
and guess what?
The camera is actually zoomed out slightly so you can see both guys, and just staying steady on the action
WOW!
I can SEE what's happening! There isn't an endless amount of zooming and cutting and panning and zooming and shaking and panning just on a few quick punches and kicks
Then Orton pushed Sheamus into the corner and begins to kick him in the chest & stomach...
and guess what
I can WATCH IT. The camera isn't following Orton's leg up and down in quick succession. It's amazing!! I feel like I'm watching an entirely different company's wrestling show
I really don't know when this horrendous camera crap started (It's gotta only be within the last couple of years)....but it HAS to go. It's ruining wrestling. I'm not even kidding. I can't focus on matches because every time a succession of kicks or punches is thrown by a wrestler I can barely see what's going on.
It can't just be me that notices this on a weekly basis. Go back and watch some stuff even from 2010. And then watch a match from last year's Summerslam....hell I bet you can find another Sheamus/Orton match pretty easily. It's not even CLOSE. Whoever changed the instruction on camera work with this company should be fired on the spot.

I don't notice the camera shakes that often, but when I do, it can get annoying. However, the biggest thing that I take away from this is that I disagree about Randy Orton's look. He should always wear wrist bands. He looks dumb to me without them.
But yea, the camerawork doesn't bother me much, but I prefer if it was steady.

Well isn't old beaver teeth Kevin Dunn the guy in charge of the production in the company?

I agree it sucks. They switch the camera views WAY too much and shaking the camera sucks

I agree with you Chip. The shaky camera crap is being used more often now and I find myself enjoying the product much less because of it.

Back when people first started complaining a few years ago, I didn't really have a problem. But it has noticeably gotten worse the last 6 months. It's just non stop cuts and zooms. It really makes the match hard to follow sometimes. The unnecessary shaking and zooming is a bit much, and to me, makes it look like an amateur trying too hard.

It works me when a good move is being performed, and all you see is faces and arms... Pan out for god sales. This is why I have tried my hardest to attend more live shows. I can actually see the match, and not forced to listen to horrendous commentary,

I brought my PS4 (that's what I use for the Network) over to my dad's to watch Money in the Bank. My dad hasn't watched a full show in years.
The second match in, my dad said, "This is really different. All these angles and cameras. It's really different. I can't really follow what's happening."

I agree the camera work is lacking recently. It's not as bad as it's made out to be, my only real complaint is during Cesaro's swing. It's really disorientating.

TOTALLY agree! I mean sometimes a guy will be doing a big impact move. Take a suplex off the top rope for example. Sometimes it happens where the camera will zoom in on both mens stomachs the whole way through the air and follow them until they hit the mat, and its such a crappy view that you can't see the full impact of the move. Then I wait until I get to see a replay to see how big the move actually was, and the wide-angle view is way better.
Camera work is a vital part of any TV show and WWE has lacked in that department. that, and the horrible commentary. I mean I can't friggen stand the commentary.

When the Wyatts attacked Jericho last week, I had to fill in the gaps as to what attack they did - it's ridiculous how bad it is at times, especially when it matters...

Hey I got think I got rid of my Zapata problem maybe you should find out who's screwing with the camera angles

I did notice the camera cut to a wide shot of the stage before Kane's music hit during the main event of Raw just gone which seemed a bit amateur. Well isn't old beaver teeth Kevin Dunn the guy in charge of the production in the company? That would be him, hopefully when Vince steps down Trips fires him that same day. Dude is a piece of dog crap His production is second to none though.

He never changes anything and these camera angles. Ugh.
