So the nominations are out... predictions? Who do you want to win?
I think the only one I feel strongly about is that Matthew McConaughey should win best actor. He killed it in True Detective. I think Spacey deserves it too but he can get it for HOC next year. The best drama award is ridiculously stacked this year. Any of True Detective/House of Cards/Breaking Bad/Game of Thrones deserve it imo.

So the nominations are out... predictions? Who do you want to win? ***Blue bold = who I personally want to win; red bold = who I think will win; and purple bold = my favorite who is also my prediction to win.***I think the only one I feel strongly about is that Matthew McConaughey should win best actor. He killed it in True Detective. I think Spacey deserves it too but he can get it for HOC next year. The best drama award is ridiculously stacked this year. Any of True Detective/House of Cards/Breaking Bad/Game of Thrones deserve it imo. For Drama Series, I watch all besides Downton and Mad Men. I'd rank them as Breaking Bad, GOT, True Detective, and then House of Cards but it is very close! My top three shows in the Comedy Series race are The Big Bang Theory, Orange Is The New Black, and Modern Family. I don't watch the other three. I watch a lot of shows so as long as Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones, Fargo, The Big Bang Theory, Orange Is The New Black, True Detective, House of Cards, Masters of Sex, etc do well at the Emmys this year I'll be really happy. ***BTW for anyone who wants to see the 100% complete list of nominees click this link which will take you to the PDF that has all of the nominees: www.emmys.com/sites/default/files/Downloads/66th-nominations-list.pdf

Ughhhh..... I love Downton Abbey. but the Emmys have such a hard-on for that show. Happy to see Fred Armisen get his surprise nomination for Portlandia! I don't think Jon Hamm is a right choice for this season, and the same can especially be said for Jeff Daniels. Both great actors, but this season was too crowded for them. I think those spots should've gone to an combination of Michael Sheen, James Spader, or Matthew Rhys. No reason why Downton Abbey should be there in the Best Drama Series group this year as other shows had better seasons. Same could be said for Mad Men, but it's been there every other year so I guess they'll give it the momentum ride all the way to it's final season next year. I just hope Jon Hamm wins his Emmy next year. I'm hoping for a clean sweep this year for Breaking Bad, but I could see two things happening: Peter Dinklage beating Aaron Paul or Matthew McConaughey beating Bryan Cranston. All stellar work, so no one would be screwing anyone over, but I'd love to see that clean sweep happen. Pretty awesome to see Benedict and Martin going head to head, but I think it's all moot as Billy Bob Thornton has that in the bag. Good to see Caplan get her nom, but Michael Sheen should definitely be up there as well. I think Jeff Daniel's spot should've gone to him. I'm quite shocked to see Andy Samberg not get a nomination, but Ricky Gervais and William H. Macy are great choices as well. I just hope the awards aren't wonky like last year. Just about every win was a surprise, and it just got pretty annoying. All in all, there are some frustrating choices here sure, but i'm not all too disappointed. The Golden Age of Television continues on.

It still blows my mind that The Big Bang Theory gets critical acclaim. I understand why it's popular, I wouldn't knock anyone who enjoyed it, but it just seems like one of those shows that critics would consider to be very low brow, despite its tremendous popularity.
I'm totally torn between Breaking Bad and True Detective in Best Drama/Best Actor. Breaking Bad deserves it based on legacy, while True Detective is equally deserving for the here and now.

William H Macy deserves to win an Emmy I just wish that Emmy Rossum would get some love. I also think that Tatiana Maslany was robbed as was Parks and Recreation. It's continually one of, if not the best comedy on TV but never gets love. I don't think that Amy Poehler has even won her Emmy yet which is a shame. Cool to see Queen Cersei and Orange is the New Black get love.

I think they're going to have a really hard time ing up Best Drama or Best Actor in a Drama. You could throw darts at those categories and still pick a suitable winner. Excited for Lizzie Caplan. I've been a fan of hers since Mean Girls/Tru Calling and it's awesome to see her get this kind of love. I know it's a USA show, but I can't help but get disappointed whenever one of Gabriel Macht or Patrick J Adams don't get any love. Those two guys are absolutely sensational on pretty much what I consider to be the most under rated show on TV.

Cool to see Queen Cersei and Orange is the New Black get love. I totally agree with both. Macy is brilliant as "Frank" and Emmy kills it as "Fiona". "Shameless" is such a great show that should get more love. I'm surprised that "Breaking Bad" is still eligible for an Emmy. Seem like so long ago it ended. It's one of the greatest shows ever so I hope they win it for the last time. But yea, give Macy the nod instead of Cranston. I'm surprised that Anna Gunn wasn't nominated since she won last year. EDIT. oops. I just saw that she was nominated for Best Supporting Actress. I never understood that. She was the main woman in the show. Why not "Best Actress"?

Boo at no Pedro Pascal for Game of Thrones. I'd also like to know what the criteria even is for best guest actor since I've never considered Robert Morse one (he's been in every season, is a recurring character, and I'm pretty sure is listed in the opening credits of every episode).

Emmy Rossum does deserve a nod, but so does somebody that's been consistently good for years & only had like 1 nom early on Where the *&*^(^(& is Sandra Oh's Emmy statue...seriously IMO, Jonny Lee Miller deserved a nod as well

BEST COMEDY SERIES
None of them. It's Always Sunny remains the funniest live-action show on TV.
BEST DRAMA SERIES
“Game of Thrones” (HBO)
“House of Cards” (Netflix)
“True Detective” (HBO)
Any of these 3 winning would be alright by me.
BEST ACTOR IN A COMEDY SERIES
Jim Parsons, “The Big Bang Theory” (CBS)
William H. Macy, “Shameless” (Showtime)
Either of them are fine with me.
BEST ACTRESS IN A COMEDY SERIES
Julia Louis-Dreyfus, “Veep” (HBO)
I guess...as long as it's not Mike n Molly chick...ANYONE but her.
BEST ACTOR IN A DRAMA SERIES
Kevin Spacey, “House of Cards” (Netflix)
Jeff Daniels, “The Newsroom” (HBO)
Matthew McConaughey, “True Detective” (HBO)
Woody Harrelson, “True Detective” (HBO)
Fine with any of them, but prefer Spacey or McConaughey...Woody and Daniels are great actors though, so, don't mind.
BEST ACTRESS IN A DRAMA SERIES
Robin Wright, “House of Cards” (Netflix)
Easily.
And Dinklage for best supporting...easily.

Hannibal getting completely snubbed I'm shocked people are still watching that show. It lost me 3 eps in. I need to give it a second chance, I guess. Same for Agents of Shield, from what I hear. I was more shocked with all the Walking Dead snubs.

I was more shocked with all the Walking Dead snubs. I assume you watched the first three episodes of the first season, and I get what you mean. Things don't really start heating up until the end of the first season, and then things explode in the second season. Mads Mikkelsen and Hugh Dancy are fantastic in the show, as is pretty much everyone else, and the cinematography is amazing. Edit: Also, at this point, I'm pretty sure the Emmys will never give the Walking Dead any recognition for anything.

Mikkelsen caught my attention as Hannibal, but the rest of the show lost me so much that I was just like "meh" -- I dug the way Dancy's character "saw" things. How he pieced stuff together. Can never go wrong with Laurence Fishburne, but -- meh. I hate feeling "meh" about a show. Where the hell is the love for Sleepy Hollow while I'm thinking about it? That show was damn entertaining, with some great performances. I guess that's tantamount to asking why Supernatural doesn't get Emmy love, though :/

I totally agree with this guy:
Zdog123: "How did Melissa McCarthy get nominated over Emmy Rossum?!? I mean they nominated both Joan Cusack and William H. Macy, so they obviously were watching this season and supported its move to comedy. The Emmy love for Chuck Lorre shows is ridiculous."
McCarthy is horrid in Mike and Molly and the fact she already won and keeps getting nominations is not right..
Rossum had a potential Emmy winner with the episode she went to jail..
So annoyed some crap nominee stole a potential spot from her (or another deserving funny woman).
