now that ive had a chance to look these over some more... Elite 30 Animal & Hawk are incredible. Perfect, as expected. It's gonna be so awesome to FINALLY have red & black LOD (I never got the CS Tag Team and wasn't about to pay ridiculous prices for it) Lex Luger looks cool, but those dumbells are  ing stupid, and a pointless accessory. I guess in the end what else was he gonna come with, at least it's something. Lesnar....glad they apparently blew the budget on some shitty cloth pants that won't fit right over his bulky shorts... the ESCR shirt is fine, could have done with just that Ryback's attire looks like it's awesome. I love the vest, but what is mattel's thing with giving people 2 shirts??? thoughts on this in a minute... Batista. Just....HORRIBLE. This is the worst Elite I've ever seen in 30 sets. + extras Boring shorts, looks like bigger kneepads....LACED boots??? oh goodie, his tattoos are updated  I cannot understand how they weren't even able to throw a friggin plastic folding chair in the package....at least something paying $20 a figure....for just a figure. I'm sorry that is inexcusable. The new basic was bad enough, this is essentially the exact same figure with more "joints" and $8 higher price. After seeing all this it's crystal clear that Mattel just simply got themselves too far in a budget hole when the Elite line started there's no saving it. Look at some of the earlier series...accessories with every guy, multiple "cloth" goods... Now we get a pair of track pants and apparently that costs so much they can't even "afford" an extra piece of plastic in the shape of a folding chair to give the new updated exciting Batista. FFS the Elite Series 6 one at least came with a god damn microphone and sunglasses. Like how much money does this crapREALLY cost?  Look at Elite 23....the set with 4 Flashbacks Macho Man- great detail, shiny belt Undertaker- cloth tie, big coat (lots of plastic), mask HHH- megaphone, helmet, shirt JBL- CLOTH jacket & towel, cowboy hat Cesaro- American Flag & shiny US title Cena- CLOTH shirt, hat, mic & dog tags that was only 7 sets ago...not that long, there's NO WAY that some red paint on LOD's shoulderpads and 1 pair of cloth pants should demolish an elite budget. The biggest issue here is the decisions. Ryback gets 2 "shirts"...which is all that rubberplastic, and Batista gets nothing. Lesnar gets cloth track pants & a rubberplastic shirt, Batista gets nothing. It's like they want to LOAD up a few figures and then it leaves nothing for the others. There's just no balance. $20+ for a Batista...with the wrong boots, an old head, some "detailed" tattoos. Wow. It's a damn good thing this set is SAVED by the 3 Flashbacks. |

Oh my... E30 is just fantastic! Batista's the only slight disappointment, but the rest of the set more than makes up for it. I'm loving Jake and the snake in the Battlepack too. The way I look at it though - if one figure in the set has to take a hit, it may as well be a more popular guy that will get plenty more releases. A chair or so something wouldn't have gone a miss though - it seems strange (wrong) for an Elite figure to come with nothing at all... |

The thing is tho.... People will jump at Batista, especially since there hasn't been an elite Batista in 24 series and a lot of people missed him the first two times and refuse to pay inflated 2nd hand pricing.
I for one am HIGHLY impressed with LOD and can't wait for the pre-orders to arrive. I ordered Batista blindly, and I don't really regret it. Happy to add an updated one to my collection. I missed the boat on Lex which sucks, maybe amazon will have em soon! I also got Ryback, it looks like it has incredible detail on the singlet. The vest is cool, but sucks the pants are missing. The 2nd shirt is pointless as you've stated.
Brock is Brock.. Nothing changed besides a rehashed elite body with black pants and a rehashed head.
I too would prefer CLOTH goods for all the superstars, but that's because I have so many damn accesories I don't know what to do with them all lol

I'll add this: They should have used the plastic from Lugers dumbells and gave him a US flag. They should have taken the cost of Ryback's Second shirt and given Batista atleast a chair. Finally, they should have taken the cost of Lesnar's cloth pants and used it for Tag Titles for LOD. This set needs belts somewhere, might as well be tag straps for the best tag team in wrestling history! |

Some of you guys nitpick way to much. MDT said they wouldnt have Batista's bew boots done in time already. So no one should be suprised he doesnt have them. They used an old scan. So what? If they made a new one, we would have to wait longer for an updated Tista. At least this scan kinda looks like him. No one was this suprised that Ultimate Warrior didnt come with anything.

I know everyone is excited about the 3 flashbacks in the set, but I don't think it was a wise move by Mattel. Flashbacks in general, usually shelfwarm HARD here. I see Crush everywhere and it takes the other ones forever to get off the pegs. I expect LOD and Luger to stick around for at least a month or two.
And yeah, some of you guys are just nitpicking. I always just say, at least it's not Jakks.

Tattoos should never count as accessories when it comes to elites. Such a cheap shot by Mattel for not including an accessory with with a $20 figure. Throw a steel chair in there for christsake, anything. So lame.

Why does everyone find Batista so disappointing? It's LITERALLY what Mattel said it would be... his first return attire. It's unfortunate they couldn't do the Gracie logo on the back but everything else about the figure is spot on.
What accessory would he come with anyways? Order an Evolution t-shirt from Ralph if you're that upset over it...

i assume the budget went toward Batista's tats, Brocks pants, Rybacks singlet, Rybacks new vest, Lex lugers flag tights/pads.
I wish Batista was better....but it is what it is. They pushed it out as quick as possible. Cash grab....gotta strike while the irons hot. Which...Batistas already gone. But he'll be back by the time this hits retail and it will fly off shelves.
I just pray that the inevitable Bluetista is an elite and not basic figure

I think what Chip was saying is that it seems strange Mattel load some figures up (eg. Brock comes with a shirt AND pads, Ryback comes with a shirt AND vest), then others come with nothing (Batista). Why not spread the budget around a bit - take away Brock's pants or Ryback's shirt, and give Batista some shades and a chair... even things out. |

Absolutely love LOD, hope these come earlier in August than later! Luger is also phenomenal; much better than previously thought...I'll have to wait for the back order sadly. I'll probably get Batista, not overly pleased but at least he's current as possible for right now.
Battle packs are pretty meh for me, besides Jake and Dean. New head is pretty cool, but I hope his next elite has the shaggy hair since we now have three slicked back heads. And I don't mind Jake's attire since I'm still holding out hope that we get an elite with purple snakes on green tights ala the hasbro.
Sooo tired of that taker scan, was hoping for his new look.
Overall, always excited to see new figs!
Oh yeah, and just hoping the gauntlets fit Animal!!

Extremely happy I preordered LOD. They look amazing!!!!
May buy Luger, but not 100% sure as I made a custom in this attire and hate to buy a figure thats gonna make the effort I put into my custom not seem worth it. But then again, my custom is a Jakks.
Not planning on getting Ryback, Batista, or Brock.
Since I'm not getting Batista, I don't care about his lack of accessories. But I do understand everyone's frustration.
