I would debut him as a heel. Come in and take out a fan favorite...Sheamus for example. Have KENTA beat the holy hell out of him. Then have his translator/Manager do all the talking to create more heat. I just think trying to get him over as a face would be more of a challenge. After failing to get Mistico over as a face I think this is the best route. I still think it would be of more use for Triple H to introduce him as part of the Authority and play up that Bryan and Punk use his moves.

I don't want to see him have a winning streak right off the bat. But, at least come in right away and take out a top guy to show that's where he belongs. Not beating jobbers for months

I'm super excited to see KENTA in the WWE. I think that he has the ability to put on a great match with a vast array of wrestlers as shown by not only his time in Japan but also his time in ROH, he is an insanely talented guy. With all that said, I don't see him amounting to be one of the top guys of the company, I moreso feel that this is more of an excursion to get some more publicity for WWE in Japan, because it is second there to New Japan. I hope that he gets to the upper mid card spot and has many great matches with new opponents and possible with some of the guys he has faced in ROH. Guys, Mistico was insanely talented but no one worked the same pure lucha style he worked. Hoping big things for KENTA. "Mistico was insanely talented" wouldn't be the way I'd describe a competitor who injured his shoulder trying to do a tope to the outside. He can do flips, but to say he's incredibly talented would be wrong. People in the US don't connect with Lucha style for a reason, it's largely sloppy and consists of jumping around the ring doing many un-needed things. Puro is a "pure" style of wrestling because it is based on honour, respect and "realism." Which is all the reason for the stiff shots that they all use.

True I suppose but to say the guy isn't talented is way more than a stretch. I've yet to see him actually botch in Mexico. Yeah KENTA could possibly fit in, but the WWE isn't known for it's realistic elements either. You rarely hear stiff shots anymore.

I expect him to be hanging around with Hornswoggle but I'd really like to see them bring him in like he's a "BIG DEAL". Hype videos etc. He comes out in suits with somewhat of an entrourage, with one of them naturally being his mouthpiece. Market him for what he is. An international superstar athlete who is already established. I know it sounds weird but kind of a weird hybrid of a debuting Alberto Del Rio crossed with Brock Lesnar. Cock, arrogant, wealthy and established but with a mean streak to back it up.

This pleases me. Did anyone else notice they referred to HHH by his real name in that article? Yes, I did. Also - why was Jimmy Hart in that pic with Hogan shaking Kenta's hand? Jimmy Hart is like Hogans real life manager. Like how music artists have a manager

A Sin Cara or Yoshi Tatsu he will never become. KENTA is smart enough to not get used improperly by WWE. I'm sure he has had quite a few stipulations put into his contract. Looking forward to see what happens next.

Can't wait for WWE to water all his moves down and make him the next Tajiri. Tajiri was awesome in WWE...

Looking forward to see what happens next. Im thinking the same. He's huge in japan and I'm sure he knows his worth. He probably has a very good and protective (for his sake) contract. The only think I'm worried about is his name. He could get a very bad one if he leaves it up to creative. Hopefully he pulls a Bryan and comes up with a good one himself.

People are making some radical comparisons. I kind of want to rebut them.
Sin Cara- He messed up moves his first matches, got suspended after about 6 months, and got hurt continuously. I'm also guessing those stupid lights hurt his ability to connect with fans. Not to mention the fact that he was either unwilling or unable to learn English
Tajiri- I won't deny his style got lighter in WWE, but he still had some awesome matches and his work with Regal was hilarious.
Yoshi Tatsu- He was low to mid card in Japan, and he was in WWE as well. Even with his standing in WWE, that's going to hep him if he decides to wrestle in Japan again.
Truth is that we've never had a Japanese star the caliber of KENTA sign with WWE, so it's impossible to say what will happen. I don't know if we'll see him make it to the main event, but I'm sure he will do well. The big question for me is whether or not he speaks English, because that will be a factor. Either way, I look forward to some top quality matches for him, both in NXT and on the main roster.

The only close comparison is Mistico when he signed. But KENTA is a professional and works as a professional. He will be a solid hand in the mid card and with the right gimmick or mouth piece he can be a main eventer. Hell when I met him in 2009 he couldn't fluently speak English but he wasn't butchering the language either.

Hell when I met him in 2009 he couldn't fluently speak English but he wasn't butchering the language either. Yeah, Mistico is an especially bad example.Between injury, attitude, and suspension, he did a lot of the damage himself. Good to know he at least knows the language some. It seems like it's been a while since he decided he wanted to work with WWE, so it's also possible he's been working on it since you met him. I'm sure he'll be fine. And for all we know, he's not even worried about being in the main event. When Ultimo Dragon signed, his goals were to work MSG and be on the card for Wrestlemania. Both goals were accomplished and he was happy. We don't know if KENTA wants something simple like that or if he wants to be a top guy and spend the rest of his career here. I hope he is already working shows by the next NXT taping, or at least the one after, but I guess we'll have to wait and see.

Although Dragon was never really a main eventer anywhere. He was equally as big as KENTA is so I seeewhat your saying there. KENTA is coming from being the top draw in a big puro promotion though. He might want to work to the top. Hell who knows maybe seeing Bryan's sucsess gave him an idea of "well I can certainly do that". I just hope and pray he doesn't end up like Sami Callihan/Solomon Crowe and end up MIA and not showing up on NXT. They need to bring him into NXT ASAP and instantly put him in there with Zayne, Neville, Breeze and company. I can already see him taking the title from Breeze.

Looking forward to see what happens next. Im thinking the same. He's huge in japan and I'm sure he knows his worth. He probably has a very good and protective (for his sake) contract. WWE do not give contracts with creative control and promised title matches to anyone except the very highest elite of superstars (ie Rock, Austin, Hogan) -- and even in those cases, not really. Daniel Bryan did not come up with his WWE name. William Regal named him. Bryan was coming up with names like Buddy Peacock. I expect him to be hanging around with Hornswoggle but I'd really like to see them bring him in like he's a "BIG DEAL". Hype videos etc. He comes out in suits with somewhat of an entrourage, with one of them naturally being his mouthpiece. Market him for what he is. Cock, arrogant, wealthy and established but with a mean streak to back it up. Neither Del Rio nor Lesnar were established in the mainstream pro wrestling world before their WWE debuts, and neither is this guy. Unless you mean pushing him like Kaval and NXT Daniel Bryan, where he's established to a certain niche of fans but needs to prove himself in the big leagues and they do the underdog thing? Del Rio had about a hundred years of pre-debut vignettes to get a character over, though. And Lesnar is an absolute specimen who looked like a monster as soon as he appeared.

As long as they bring him up as a straight-forward wrestler and not strap him with a Japanese gimmick, he'll be an upper midcarder with some fantastic matches in the company. lolol wishful thinking to the max.

He's been signed for 1 day and you are all saying 'he will be the next Yoshi Tatsu/Sin Cara'
Jesus Christ, give him a chance...
