Can you guys recommend any Curt Hennig matches from WCW I should watch on the network? I was WWE all the way during the Monday night wars and never once ordered a WCW ppv. I would tune into Nitro to only see him, Flair, Hitman, etc.
I know Curt was US champ and had a stint with the horseman, but his west texas rednecks angle was hot garbage. Did he any gems or decent matches on ppv I can watch?

His Tag Team Match with Windham vs Benoit and Malenko is the only real good match I can remember. Was on Nitro so here's the link:

I seem to remember he had a match with Ric Flair at one of those World War 3 shows which wasn't awful.
I could be wrong though. It's been quite some time.

I cant really recall any greatness from Hennig in WCW.....He was a shell of his former self when he turned up in WCW. He still looked the part but Christ....his in ring work was staggeringly shoddy compared to what we came to know him for.

Curt vs. DDP at Starrcade 97 was okay.
He had some matches with Bulldog and Bret too in early 1998 that are alright.

Man that is VERY impressive. Show doesn't even jump much for it. It makes it just that much more impressive.

There must have been something in the water in WCW because everyone who went there in the mid-late 90s performed far worse than they had in the WWF.

In Hennigs case it was less "something in the water" and more "something in a bottle"......Beer, Somas, Painkillers and going back to wrestle when his back really wasn't up to it.

I've always heard he Hennig/Perfect-Plexed The Giant. Anyone got a video of that? Holy crap. To keep this on topic, I just watched him have a solid 20 minute tag match at SuperBrawl IX. Him and Barry Windham against Chris Benoit and Dean Malenko.

Unfortunately, this move was part of the reason he could never get over his back injuries. Care to elaborate? Unless your talking about the Perfect-Plex in general.

he had a good feud with malenko that finished at fall brawl 98, and i've heard his match at malice at the palace 98 with flair was good as well. i personally liked his run in wcw, it obviously was hindered, but he still could go and did so under numerous occasions. his whole rebranding as the cowboy was russo being an idiot i believe. for the fact that his back was completely done, it's amazing what he did and how fast he could still move.
he also put people over nonstop throughout his wcw run.
