Oh radio tell me everything you know... Unfortunetly he fine-tuned his radio to the HHH #Shovel wavelength. You keep going to these Triple H shovel jokes, but how do you know he had anything to do with Ryder's de-push? I mean I'm all over the internet wrestling sites, and I've NEVER seen anything to validate your claim. I like Ryder very much. Been a fan since his Edge Head days. I don't know why Ryder was buried, and I'm not about to pretend I do.

He had a Chris Jericho birthday cake at WWE New York in 2000. We loved him because he is us!

The only thing that's sad about Zack Ryder was his acting and mic skills. Whenever he got on the mic it was so awful and cringeworthy I couldn't bare to watch it. And his wresstling skills weren't anything to write home about. What the hell was so special about this guy? I'd really like to know. He was nothing but an internet fad that I'm so glad is finally dead. The guy was horrible and whenever he had any kind of TV time I wanted to gouge my eyes out and blow out my ear drums. Have people forgotten that horrible segment with him, Eve and Kane? That alone should have been enough to convince people that he was just beyond awful. Just because he was over doesn't mean he was actually any good. The WWE knew this, they saw how god–awful he was, and they knew it was only a matter of time before the flip floppers wouldn't give two sh*ts about him. It's not the WWE's fault that he sucks so badly, they did give him a chance but he just couldn't cut it. It's time to move on.

While I totally agree with Foley and the general opinion that Ryder was buried, WWE is like "the pancake lady" with the internet. WWE gives fans what they want and they constantly say "its good but it's not good enough" secretly savoring every bite but never letting them know how good it is just so they can keep getting a Christian push, a new nation, a Bryan championship, nxt call ups etc etc Sometimes I feel like everyone just continues to eat and devour the WWE pancakes but will never let WWE how good they are because "eh they could use a little more syrup". if we don't, then who will counteract the yes men saying 'this is the greatest thing we've ever done' when it's a garbage pancake

Is he still a big Merchandise seller? I think he tweeted a week or so ago that WWE took down almost all his merch from the website.

They didn't give him sh*t! He got a couple weeks as US champ before jobbing to no-reaction Swagger and then they took him off ing TV to sell a beat down from Kane. Then in a DESPERATE attempt to get John Cena over, he comes in to save Ryder, making Ryder look awful in the process. Ryder didn't bring Cena up, Cena brought Ryder down. And then, instead of attempting to salvage the thing and giving Ryder a revenge match against Kane at Mania, we get snooze fest Orton shoehorned in there riding the very last waves of heat the Kane had BECAUSE OF RYDER. No matter how insanely popular a guy is, a crowd can only cheer for him for so long before they finally get the message that WWE is going to do everything in it's power to keep him down. And Ryder was never a "comedy" character. That's like calling Shawn Michaels a comedy character. Just because WWE decided to degrade a human being on national television doesn't make them a comedy character. If that was the case, Jim Ross is a comedy character.

WWE violated Ryder. Sucks because I actually liked the guy. I feel like him winning the United States Championship was such a great moment and then to have the company take away everything they didn't help him to get.......awful.

I never saw him as a main event guy, but he's a very solid mid-card talent.

Ryder should have never been put in that awful Kane/Cena/Eve storyline. But they could have gave him some redemption by beating Kane at Mania which could have been huge for him

While the Cena/Eve/Ryder/Kane story was utter crap. Ryder not getting his revenge against Kane in the long run truly hurt him. It wasn't like the WWE was ever going to have him fight Eve after she kicked him in ding ding.
Also dropping the US title out of nowhere to Swagger was stupid. The WWE could have even made something out of the Internet Championship (maybe something similar to the Million Dollar Belt). At the height of his popularity the possibilities were endless. For whatever reason WWE didn't hitch the wagon to one of their top sellers and in the long run that hurt Ryder more than anything. Sadly I think Ryder will be known more the WWE truly embracing social media than anything he ever did or does in the company

Being Cenas "lil buddy" absolutely destroyed Ryder lads......it really did. there was no way back from that IMO. Maybe if he had got revenge against kane @ WM? but that was never gopnna happen.
They had Orton lay down for Kane @ WM to reinforce the fact that Cena was the only guy capable of beating him. Then ironically they lost interest in Kane(for the 14th or 15th time)

It was impossible to ever take his idiotic character seriously. Whether it was intentional or not he was a comedic act. The Ryder/Eve/Kane segment is proof enough of that. And please don't ever compare HBK to the likes of Zack Ryder again. That kind of statement could destroy one's credibility in an instant.

Did he write it? I think it's wrong to completely blame Ryder when it was the usual crap from the WWE brain trust. I'm not trying to debate how great of a star Ryder could have been if they kept the ball rolling. Maybe he still would have flopped.... honestly though, how the hell would even the greatest wrestler and talker in WWE look like anything more than a joke if they're forced to run away from a monster like a little kid, get thrown of a stage in a wheelchair and show up in almost a full body cast as if they're Don Knotts in some lame G rated comedy movie.....I don't think even CM Punk could have recovered from all that. It's not like he was given the chance to improvise in any of those cases. Those were rigid storylines that I'm sure WWE wouldn't have let him sway from....Swagger could have still beaten Ryder in a non-title match, leading to Ryder still going over in a ppv title match and 'overcoming the odds'....from there he should have been kept in programs involving him defending the U.S title leading to mania. All the while shaping him more as a character and making him look stronger. From there I mean, who knows? Being stuck as robin to Cena's Batman was the start of his downfall. Punk and Cena supporting his push at the beginning should have been enough. Making Ryder Cena's sidekick really made him look weaker. He should have just fought beside him.

I just would like to see him get TV time. If there is just one thing that I could bring back from the Attitude Era, it would be that everybody on the roster had something to do. Even if it was just a lower mid-card feud. Even if it was a crappy storyline, it gave them something to do. With SO many hours of television weekly, everyone should be able to get TV time and be at least somewhat relevant.
