Is it hard to do, and do you have to take the parts apart to paint? I was thinking of painting my Rey Mysterio (DA 1), any color ideas?

It depends on how good of a painter you are. If you are a good painter there would be no reason really to take it apart. But if you are a bginner/ or you are not very good at making straight lines with paint, it would be best for you to take it apart. I would like to see a Red, white and blue attire Mysterio

Thanks.
I'm new at painting, but am pretty good at art related stuff. I'll probably try it out first on an old figure.
I mean, if I paint a knee without taking it apart, will it dry and not move or move but all the paint chip off?

Not taking it apart is better if you plan on doing it just for display. So if you plan on moving the joints often, it would be best to take it apart

Alright, I just took apart my first knee (which was one from a RA Charlie Haas), which was pretty easy, just a little hard putting the oin back in, but I believe I didn't heat it enough. I believe I will take the legs off of my Edge (DA 2) and give him the red attire. Unfortunately, the double-jointed knees will take twice the effort.

Wow. You're taking the fig apart just for painting?
I wouldn't worry about the paint. As long as you're not putting it on too thick, it should be ok. Work the joint after you paint a coat, it'll help the paint.

painting is pretty easy to do. if you arre using the fig for play take it apart, paint it and seal it afterwards so the paint doesn't chip off. hope that helps. a good paint to use is acrylic as well instead of oil based paint.

I understand that it really doesn't matter what kind of sealer is used, but what are some brands to look for at Wal-Mart? And what brands of paint don't need water added?
