On the topic of the Minimates version of a GB line,i gotta say its the best line of movie GB stuff ever created. Character diversity, awesome accessories and ,aside from Ray, impeccable likenesses. The only thing they missed the boat on, to my knowledge, was giving us an Ecto-1. As for Mattel,i join the "wait and see" crowd here. Mattycollector is a hit or miss deal to me.

So what happened here? I thought Mattel said they would be shown at Toyfair?
Although they probably will be 4-inch kid-aimed garbage, I'm still holding on to a tiny shred of hope that they'll be 6-inch actual collector quality.

Has there been any updates on these?

Has there been any updates on these? Nope. But with the new movies coming (regardless of how terrible they'll probably be) I can't see Mattel not continuing ahead with the RGB line. Unless stupid business suits in Hollywood have ordered them to cancel it so as not to take focus away from the new movies... As I've said before though I'm trying not to get my hopes up for the RGB line anyway. As much as I'd love some collector-quality 6-inch RGB figures (and a deluxe Firehouse playset too), I fully expect Mattel to just make 4-inch cheap looking garbage like they did with the Batman 1989/Returns & Superman movie figures.

Maybe it's just me, but I'd be beyond happy if the original Kenner line was re-released!

Maybe it's just me, but I'd be beyond happy if the original Kenner line was re-released! You're welcome to your opinion of course, but personally I don't understand this kind of viewpoint at all. Same as I don't get the appeal of those Funko ReAction figures, Mezco-throwback styled figures, or anything similar. Design and technology has improved so much since the action figures of the 70s/80s/90s, even the early 2000s really. If we're going to get new figures of any characters/franchises I'm a fan of, I want modern figures made in high-quality with plenty of details, articulation and accessories that are accurate to the source material, perhaps with the occasional nod to features specific only to the old toys where appropriate (e.g. Playmates could have done the TMNT Classic Turtles in cartoon colors and then a variant set in vintage toy colors). As an adult collector, I always want ultimate/enhanced/deluxe representations of the toys and characters I loved as a kid. To have poor quality figures made nowadays or have the same toys that are already available released again just seems like a waste of an opportunity to me. Don't get me wrong, I understand that specific old toys can hold memories no matter how poor quality they may be or seem now. But personally if I wanted an old toy I would buy an old toy. With the internet and plenty of specialist toy dealers around it's not too hard to find the vast majority of old figures for a reasonable price, unless you're wanting a pristine condition mint-on-card version of everything or something which was produced in unusually small quantities.
