Personally, I don't think I'll ever subscribe to the WWE network. Especially with the overkill advertising.

What does 9.99Buy ? Several jars of vaseline to help ease the feeling of WWE shoving their network up your ass.

I mean give me a break. The Network is absolutely amazing. If them plugging the sh*t out of it, in satirical fashion no less, is some how deterring you from signing up then you weren't signing up anyway.

As much as it's been an overkill with the amount of plugs they've been doing, the Network is truly amazing.

It's not about how great you think the network is. It's that this clear desperation is a bad look, whether they were trying to be funny or not. And they had to try to be funny. It's literally the only way you can play off desperation like that.

It's literally the only way you can play off desperation like that. A bad look to whom? A bunch of whiny internet fans? Nobody is going to stop watching Raw because they were plugging the Network. Nobody is going to not buy the Network because they were plugging the Network, assuming they wanted it prior to last night. This is something to talk about for a week, and then we'll all move onto b*tching about Lesnar being champion and never showing up on TV. WWE has been slinging their own goods for years and they have a 3 hour TV program to do it. If they sold one Network subscription last night then it was worth it to them. Also, I'm fairly certain Vince and Triple H were taking the piss out of the internet last night. We're an extremely easy target, obviously.

Will I stop watching Raw because of the endless plugging? It's very possible if I have to sit through another Raw like Monday....it may mean that I'll see results & watch matches that look entertaining, or just fast forward through half the program on my DVR, or not watch at all. Whatever I do, I cannot handle another Raw with Cole talking that much about the stupid Network.

I don't think they should plug it that hard on Raw because the fans who watch Raw that don't have the Network aren't going to randomly buy because it was plugged so much. The free trials and WWEShop gift cards are smarter ways to promote it.

You know what I can't stand? That bitch from Popeyes trying to sell me chicken while I'm watching raw! I DONT WANT YOUR CHICKEN, GO AWAY!!! Maybe you guys are right, WWE should stop advertising the network, while they're at it they should also stop having commercials, PPV ads, WWEShop ads, Live Event ads, upcoming DVD ads or anything that what's going on live on the show.

We've seen way worse content on Monday Night than countless Network plugs, and yet, here you are, with 6 thousand odd posts on an internet forum over the course of nearly a decade. WWE is an inelastic good to 95% of the people on this forum. We're there every single week, if not to enjoy the show then at least to b*tch about it. Also, what is it that stopped you from buying the Network prior to Monday? You claim countless plugs turned you off permanently but the Network has been available since February. Because you don't have the Network, seemingly had/have no intention of signing up, then why should WWE care about wether they offended you on Monday or not? They don't care, which is why it's not worth getting all worked up over.

It still blows my mind that people fail to realize this was Triple H trolling cause of the fans who complain about mention of the Network. Glad I wasn't the only one that realized the over-the-top shilling of the Network was supposed to be a joke, most likely in response to everyone making a big deal about the subscriber numbers last week. I will gladly sit there and listen to them repeat $9.99 plugs all night, because it reminds me of the best $9.99 I spend every month.

Because you don't have the Network, seemingly had/have no intention of signing up, then why should WWE care about wether they offended you on Monday or not? They don't care, which is why it's not worth getting all worked up over. I'm fascinated with marketing, advertising, & the business side of anything. That's why I analyzed it, but I don't see myself as getting 'all worked up' over it. I just gave an opinion on what I find to be a risky/foolish way to promote & commented on how it impacts me personally. I 100% agree with the belief that there's eventually a negative reaction to seeing/hearing ads too often, especially in a small amount of time. IMO, at least for a percentage, it backfires & a significant portion of new viewership (which they are generally presenting the ads toward) would be turned off. However, let's say it doesn't turn people off...I sure don't think it's something that would convince them to buy the network. I sure don't think someone with the network is sitting their smiling while Cole is forced to talk about it over & over. For many, it takes away the enjoyment. If they had a better strategy, they wouldn't have to go with repetition (nagging you into a purchase). They don't just treat viewers as new each episode. They treat viewers as new to programming each segment & for me, it's painful to sit through. WWE should care because I'm still a consumer in other areas...even if not purchasing the network. They should care if they lose viewership/merch dollars/etc. Do I think they care? Absolutely not, but that's a huge problem. When companies don't care -- why should the consumer continue to support them? It is possible for someone to be a fan, yet be disgusted with a company & turn away. If they treat everyone as inelastic....they'll learn just how easily that can change. I started watching wrestling in 1987 - 1988, but I haven't always stuck with the WWE. I didn't care for the product during most of the attitude era, but also during the In Your House PPV's period that I think came before. That meant that I wasn't watching or keeping up with it at all. I didn't see short haired Bulldog in WWE, heel Hart Foundation, formation of the clique/DX, Stone Cold beginning, etc. I also stopped watching prior to Carlito's debut - that character got me back into it when I saw his Raw debut (I missed his Smackdown run). There was also a point when Cole replacing J.R. on commentary made me stop watching all together. I couldn't take how bad he was at his job (he's fine now, but he used to be unwatchable for me, so I gave it up). I watch now, half out of enjoyment for good matches & half because nothing better is on...interacting with other fans/making goofy jokes throughout Raw on the site helps distract me from the bad parts of the show, or I would've definitely turned the tv off & just read results if I had the time. What stopped me from buying prior to Monday?? needing money for more essential things....just isn't a high priority. The Network/Stock era means that they have to sell, sell, sell. It's understandable, but with Raw now being a tool to sell, they need to do it in a less annoying, less repetitive way.
