No thread for this so thought I'd create one.
What does everyone think about this?
I know most people in this section will be from outside Scotland but feel free to share your opinions to.
Personally leaning towards voting yes atm. Some risks involved but then again there are risks with staying in the UK.

If you dont get to keep the £ then thats the killer. People dont like change and something as important as currency can make a big difference especially with the elderly.
The only referendum i want is to get the hell out of he EU and shut the borders up. The UK is making a big mistake by hitting foreign students outside the EU with all sorts of restrictions, the very kids that are going to make a difference like becoming doctors and other badly needed careers but instead we have Romanians, Czechs, Slovakians, Lithuianians selling papers in traffic jams. Ill stop before i get carried away.

I'm not sure they should give people the vote. It's too big of a decision. And that's funny coming from me because I'm a 'power to the people' kinda guy. But you know what people are like. A lot of them won't actually look into the issue, others just won't understand. So you'll just get people voting because they hate the English. Without looking too much into it, I would say for them to stay. They seem much better off. But then again, I have no say whatsoever and am not very well informed. But Wales would be better off financially if Scotland leave, doesn't make any difference though. As for Europe I would vote to stay in. Again I'm not greatly involved in this but there seems to be have been a lot of positives from it. That being said, the entire political system is  ed. Really needs a good overhaul but then the question would be how do you do it and will it stop the complaining, no. |

Voting no.
The only fear I have with the referendum is that they're allowing 16 year olds to vote in it. Now, not saying there aren't some clued up 16 year olds, but most of them will be high off of watching Braveheart and just vote Yes without even knowing what that entails.

I'd say no. Give them a voice in the fight, but don't give them the whole bloody call. This needs to be left to elected officials, thats why they were elected.

My younger brother is 16 and most of his friends are voting no. Reckon most of them will vote what their parents are voting rather than based off Braveheart.

Can't see Scotland voting for independence, but if I were Scottish I'd definitely vote Yes!

Although I imagine discussions about being a republic would come up at some point in the event of a yes vote. I'm basing this on what people have told me though. |

I really don't know because I don't really get involved with politics, I'm not clued up whatsoever. But there's definitely a lot of idiots and bigots voting which makes me wonder if giving them a voice is really a good idea.

If it was left to the government all that would happen is our elected leader Salmond would want independence and David Cameron would tell him no.
One of the main problems within the UK is the different sizes of the population. For example if there is an EU in or out referendum, just say that everyone in England vote out where everyone in Scotland, Wales and N.Ireland vote to stay in then the no vote wins. Although it is a majority victory 3 of the 4 nations have voted to stay in.
That's one of the things that annoy some Scottish people. The Tory's are despised up here and only have 1 seat in our country yet they rule us.

Not all 53 counttries of the Commonwealth have her as Queen do they? I mean Mozambique is a former portuguese colony...Im pretty sure they do not recognise her as Queen. |
