The market is very thin now, unless your have a foot in the door IE son of a pro or have some powerful connections or money and influence the chance of making it are slim. Yes CM Punk and Bryan got through but WWE's new policy is you must be 6'3 200+lbs and be age ranged 24-28 only. I'm 6'8 27 and 300lbs and have been on the indy circuit but no one scouts at small shows was even offered a spot on PW when piper ran it but he was all about getting his kid over and into wwe. Um, what? Their three big recent signings have been over 28 and under 6'.

Being a part of creative has been a dream job of mine for a good while now. Same here. I don't think anyone here HASN'T ever dreamed of working for WWE.

I never thought I could get to WWE, but I love wrestling so much I would have been happy just making 40 bucks at a local gym. I was good looking, big, and dumb. So dumb that I went and broke my back. Literately. Almost 20 years later and I finally may have to have surgery to fix it. Boo!

KENTA is 5'9, 179 lbs Kevin Steen is 5'11, 240 lbs Prince Devitt is is 5'11, 179 lbs I have no clue what this policy you speak of is.

the standard policy they had about 3 years ago before triple h took over yes there are exceptions but unless you have been on the indies for awhile starting like ddp just does not happen anymore

The WWE and the wrestling industry is tough man. The indie promotions wont net you much money at all, so you'll probably need another job if you aren't a big time name. I'd recommend acting classes if you can get into a school, it could benefit your character. Both Jericho and Rhodes, two superb characters, attended acting school so it may be worth looking into. I know an indy wrestler who goes to my college, he has another job at a factory to help pay the bills

Anyone who loves wrestling would work for the wwe in a second. Of course you should go after your dream but listen to what the pros say. Get an education too. If someone says you'll never be in the wwe don't listen to then. Cena started out as a major fan as a kid as did HHH and so on. Get trained, work the Indys, never get a girlfriend (they will just get in the way), and get that dream!
Acting and improv classes should be on the top of your list of things to do. Work three jobs if you have to, get education and train!!!

Good topic because I'm on the fence about it. My main goal is to ultimately become a WWE Superstar but I feel that my size will hold me back. I'm 23 and weight 185 at 5''9. I'm in fairly good shape (pic is in my avatar) but I fear that I will be wasting my time and money because my height will hold me back. What do you think my chances are? That random guy in your avatar pic is not 185 LBS.

Well, it depends. I know that guys like Daniel Bryan and Cesaro both wrestled in the indies and Ring of Honor before joining the WWE, both Titus O'Neil and Big E were former football players while guys like Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns came from pro wrestling families. Most of the WWE Divas were former models, NFL cheerleaders, and NBA dancers (there are a few exceptions such as Natalya and Paige).

I would love to be an announcer or backstage interviewer. I wouldn't be getting damage to my body, but I can still say I work for wwe

I would love to be a wrestler, but I don't know if I could do it. Maybe one day I will pay for a class to see if I could take it on my body. I would be a good manger I think.

Anyways you have a good chance considering you have an average height for wrestling. I'm only 5'10 so you're not that far lol. Just come up with a good character and a good name. Try standing out from everyone else in the indies.

Its a nice dream to have....but realistically its just that.....a dream. I prefer to live my life and have a more realistic outlook on life.

I used to want to be a color commentator ala Bobby Heenan, but the idea of having Vince yell in my ear constantly and being his corporate puppet makes me cringe.

when i was a teenager i was involved in a local indie promotion for a few events as security and got beaten up by the heels on one occasion before the babyface made the save. was a lot of fun. i've since injured my back pretty badly, resulting in some different complications that i have to keep pretty closely monitored, so long and short of it i simply could not be a wrestler with the back i have. it was only one of many things i was interested in pursuing though, so i've simply set my mind on different things. i also have quite a bit of interest in getting involved as a manager in local indies and building a small rep for fun.
for others out there that think they want to do it, i say go for it.
