I think Punk is the better overall package, but it's easier to identify with Bryan. Bryan is obviously the better "company guy", but he can't compare in the unpredictability area. They both have their strengths.

Kanyon.... On topic, I'd say Punk, but that's just personal preference really. Bryan is tremendous as well but to me just doesn't have it on the mic like Punk.

Punk is probably 9/10 on wrestling skills and 10/10 on the mic whereas Bryan is 10/10 in ring but only about 7.5/10 on the mic. Bryan is a super likable underdog face but Punk always killed it as a heel so I'm gunna give it to Punk.

CM Punk had the complete package. Incredible wrestling ability, amazing microphone ability. If this was any other era he easily could have been the #1 guy to carry this company on his back for years.
Bryan is one of the best pure wrestlers we have ever seen, and is just one of those guys you love to like. (and I do)
But for me, I think Punk is the overall better of the two. And yes, I'm completely biased...but for good reason.

Punk for me. Always. That will never change.
I like Bryan, he's a great performer no doubt, but I just can't connect with him. Yes, his chants are mega over, maybe more than Punk has ever been, but he just doesn't have the personality or character that Punk has. Without the Yes and the No, what is he? Gifted, humble wrestler that wants to be on the top. Punk I believe has much more personality, SES is a great example of that.

Both are brilliant but Bryan is better. I actually can't believe Punk is winning by double the votes.
Bryan is the best wrestler in the world since Chris Benoit. And before anyone says Punk is better "all round", Bryan can hang on the mic aswell and be capable of cutting some great promos. I just wish he was more like the Bryan Danielson from ROH and less of the "YES/NO" bullcrap. It holds him back as a character IMO. It's something that they should just let the crowd chant, but unfortunately WWE run every little thing into the ground and made those 2 words become everything Daniel Bryan is about. Which is a shame cause "The American Dragon" is 10x better than the "Yes man". And much more credible as a main eventer aswell.
I hope when Bryan turns heel again, he will shave his head and beard and go back to the plain maroon tights, and use more submissions and suplexes in his moveset. I love that Bryan is huge right now but I want to see MORE.

Punk has a more interesting personality which really shines and is good in the ring. Bryan is a regular nice guy but is amazing in the ring, but for me in ring ability isn't as good as telling a good story. I'd say Punk.

I think Punk is the total package, but Bryan is a better all around wrestler for me.
Bryan's move set is more exciting and he just comes off as being way more athletic. Taking nothing away from Punk, he's obviously great too.
Punk's got the mic, and he can probably tell more stories, but Bryan's nearly year long Saga against the authority with the perfect ending at WM is better than any one single thing Punk has done.

Now that he career is done, looking back I have never been entertained by anyone as much as Punk. I loved watching him, even when his stories were the drizzling sh**s. He's what kept me a wrestling fan through the dark times (2009-early 2012). I love Bryan and the YES! chant is amazing, but he has never entertained me like Punk. "In the ring, on the microphone, even on commentary....."

Better talker and entertainer? Punk. Punk also tells incredible stories with his matches but as far as being better and crisper in the ring? I gotta go with D. Bry. I'm a huge fan of both though.

Bryan, easily. Better in-ring work, more likeable person, more consistently entertaining.

Bryan.
He has an intangible quality which gets into the hearts of fans which Punk never did.
And, personalities aside, Bryan is twice the wrestler Punk was.
Bryan is also more popular at his peak than Punk was at his.
This isn't even close.

Tough Call
I'd say Bryan and Punk are just about equal as far as wrestling ability, they even do some of the same moves.
Even though Bryan was getting better around Wrestlemania time cutting promos, I still think Punk is one of the all time best on the mic.
I think Punk is #1 all around until Bryan gets a little better at promos.
