Yesterday was a good day as far as figures goes. I found and purchased Rowan and Harper of the Wyatt family. And I opened up one of my Flairs. I didnt take any pictures because by this point we have all seen them in pictures. Sadly all 3 figures had something to them that I did not like.
First I was disappointed by the Harper figure. When I saw his shirt I knew it would hinder his torso articulation. Surely enough his rubber shirt makes it hard for Harper to bend at the torso. I just think a painted on shirt, like his basic, would have been better for play ability. Even a cloth shirt would have been better. When I say shirt im referring to his white tank top. His Red Flannel comes off pretty easy.
Then on to Rowan. His work jumpsuit/overall blocks his arm movement. At the shoulders his suit/shirt sticks out so it is impossible to put Rowan's arms straight up. So think of when a wrestler wins a match and they raise his arm in victory, Rowan can not be posed that way.
With both of the Wyatts, Rowan and Harper, I feel Mattel did a better job with the Basics. So if you're reading this and cant decide which to get, elites or basics, I would say get the basics. The Basics are better for posing and I guess playing, unless you take that white rubber shirt off of Harper. The only thing that makes the Elites slightly better is the lamb mask and the lantern.
Also while on the Wyatts, am I the only one who thinks they look like Janitors?
And then last, the biggest disappointment, Flair. I was not a fan of the Flair from the moment I saw it. The line is called defining moments but that figure reflects no moment at all. His face looks like older flair, his body is very cut, Flair was never that defined but I think they were going for a younger Flair with the body look. Looks aside, what really disappointed me was the lack of a gold stand for the figure. All of the defining moments figures I've had up until now had a Gold stand for the figure to stand on, Flair does not. I guess it's just another cost cutting measure on Mattel's part.

I got hawk and it's moc but the face paint is not very good. It looks like he already had a match

I think all those figures are great and none bear any disappointment for me, really. I don't love the Harper scan like a lot of people seem to... And my Rowan is slightly hard to balance for some reason, but those things are fairly nit picky to me. E29 is the most I've ever wanted from a set.

I don't think Rowan has ever raised his arms high in victory. Mattel makes these things too realistic. Haha

His basic also has the same problem with the suit. Harper's elite is awesome, and a million times better than his basic, which has the weirdly skinny body and giant arms.

I don't think I've ever done anything with my figures where I needed that torso joint. Just kind of occurred to me.
I counted my Mattel figure and I have 105. Out of those the only problem I've had was one warped leg and I fixed that with hot water.
My only gripe with Mattel is I wish they did paint wipes or do something to add more color to hair and facial hair. I think Harper would look better with gray throughout his beard.

I think if I picked any 105 of my Mattel figures out, I'd be lucky to find 20 that don't have some quality control issue or other. Agreed on Harper's beard, wonder if any fix-uppers have done that.

I love the Flair figure. It has his 80s long hair. My favorite color tights the baby blue, which I believe are the ones he used the night he won his first world title. It also has my favorite robe, which is his black and white robe. I think who ever designed and approved this figure, probably feels the same way. The only gripe I agree with you on in regards to the figure is his head scan does reflect a much older Flair. I wish they could have made it look a little younger, but it's a very minor flaw in a great figure.

I'll agree that the Basic figure is skinnier than the elite as far as Harper goes. I just was sharing my opinions. I know some people either get an elite or a basic, so I was just trying to help. I feel that there is no major difference between the elites and the basics other than the accessories and price. Even if Rowan never raises his arms in victory, does he never do a press slam? Or a vertical suplex? Im just thinking of possible poses/moves that are ruined by his clothing. As you can see by my post I purchased both the Elites and the Basics. Overall I like seeing new figures, I just wish they were done properly so that all may enjoy. If I were inclined to play with my figures the clothing wont let me pose/move the figures in a way that an elite should move.

Harper (or anyone with that type of shirt) barely have their torso articulation hindered. The Mattel wwe ab crunch is one of the most useless I've ever encountered. The elite Harper looks way better and more accurate than the basic since they put a shirt on it instead of an old singlet mold.
That Flair torso sucks though. Young flair never looked like that either. Dude was a thick powerlifter in his early days. Never once did he look anything like that figure.

I'd probably agree but nowadays all I do is just display my figures so articulation isn't as much a factor as their overall look for me anymore. One good example of figures lacking articulation is the shield. Their legs are so thick compared to the crotch piece that you can't even bend the leg enough for a decent kick..And well the torso due to the stiff vests. Another one off the top of my head is every elite sin cara. His crotch also hinders his leg movement. I wish every figure had the Evan Bourne range of leg movement.

If you don't like Harper's shirt, you should consider buying a Jakks UFC Dan Severn. The sweat shirt he comes with is very similar to Harper's wife beater. It even has sweat around the collar. The big difference is Severn's shirt is grey instead of white. I thought the same thing about Flair. I think the box says Wrestlemania XXIV, which would have been consistent with the outfit he wore vs HBK. The robe is wrong of course. It's also very similar to the outfit he wore against Harley Race at Starrcade 1983. The boots' color is a little off. I'm pretty sure he had a butterfly on his trunks instead of, "RF". And, again, the robe is wrong. What I would have really liked to see is Royal Rumble 1992 Natch. The thing that disappointed me most about Flair is that the Marvel NWA Championship fits so loosely on him. I was hoping for an exact match.

The thing that disappointed me most about Flair is that the Marvel NWA Championship fits so loosely on him. I was hoping for an exact match. Im pretty sure you would need to pop the head off of Harper to get that rubber white wife beater off of him. I just dont see myself doing all that. With Flair I think Mattel just wanted to rush to get a figure out as fast as possible and at the same time make as much money as possible. So they gave us the Flair we all now see, they resurrected the DM line to get the customer for an extra 2 to 10 dollars. Only they forgot that DM means Defining Moments, so they over looked that fact that this Flair reflects no moment in his carear. The gold stand not being in the package really just shows me how much, I think, Mattel is pinching pennies here. I get the feeling that eventually Mattel will put Flair in the regular elite line as a flashback. And I feel that figure will be better than this first one. I feel the same about Stong, and Hogan, im sure Mattel will try to make those men into figures as many times as they possibly can.

Rowan needs something similar to the E32 Daniel Bryan figure attire, In cloth he would be a lot easier to move.
