The thought popped into my head after watching Jack Swagger vs. Christian for the ECW Championship earlier today. When Jack Swagger debuted, he didn't have good stellar matches in the beginning. When Christian returned in 2009 on ECW, this gave Swagger a good opponent that can hide his weaknesses and make him look extremely good. I am surprised this match isn't talked a lot when looking back at Christian and Jack Swagger's matches. The impression I got after watching this that Swagger is good in the ring, just that he needs a guy to make him look good. Here is the link to the match in question.
What are some matches/promos you thought were really good but doesn't get a ton of praise?

I've always like the series of matches between Triple H and Kevin Nash in 2003. Their Ladder match in 2011 is excellent as well.

I feel Brock Lesnar gives a really good promo here considering he's not the best talker, great promo that doesn't get mentioned enough here.

Underrated matches?
Bret Hart vs Ric Flair @ Souled Out 1998 Batista vs HBK in the stretcher match @ ER 2008 HBK vs 123 Kid on Raw in early 1996
3 crackers that often get overlooked IMHO.

Underrated Matches:
The Rock vs. Kurt Angle from No Mercy 2000
I don't think this match gets talked about that much. It really was better than their No Way Out match imo.

Underrated matches? Batista vs HBK in the stretcher match @ ER 2008 That is a great choice there. I remember absolutely loving that feud. Going into it I thought it was going to absolutely suck but I loved how they made it seem like Batista was going to turn heel around Backlash, then around Extreme Rules you wanted to see Batista destroy Shawn. The feud had a great story to it both with Flair and Jericho adding to it. My choice is going to be the Jeff Hardy/Triple H feud that carried from late 2007 into 2008. I can't really pick one match because every time they seemed to get into the ring they had great chemistry. Jeff playing the underdog and almost taking the title from Triple H for about 3 or 4 straight PPV's. Their match from No Mercy 2008 is one of the most underrated matches of 2008 and often gets overlooked because of the Jericho/HBK ladder match that main evented that night.

Umaga vs anyone he was against.
I'm not kidding I actually really liked the guy.

Jeff Hardy's heel run in 2010/11 is under appreciated due to his drug thing.

Christian's whole WWECW run was so awesome. Had a great non-title champion vs. champion match with Jericho in 2008, and both of his matches against Ryder were outstanding (homework assignment for those who don't think Ryder can work: watch his god damned ECW matches). The Patriot vs. Bret Hart (IYH Ground Zero) Shawn Michaels vs. Chris Masters (Unforgiven 2005)

I am shocked it doesn't get talked about often when discussing John Cena's best matches. I loved his work with Cena, one of the only monster heels to be able to lose and still look good in doing so. His work with Hardy was amazing too, I always remember the Swanton from the truck. Hell even when he randomly started talking against Punk he was great, and that feud was sloppy as heck. Really underrated guy who made really overrated people look great, truly someone who died too early.

It's a shame that the Triangle Ladder Match from WM2000 gets overshadowed by the two TLC rematches because IMO it's the best of the trilogy.

I also enjoyed Diesel vs Bam Bam, the match when Bam Bam got fired from the million dollar corporation. This match is one of Diesel's top three matches during his reign IMO.

Brutus Beefcake vs. Randy Savage from the SNME show in July of 1989 was pretty damn good and sometimes Beefcake gets over looked in matches. I know he wasn't a 5 star athlete, but Beefcake had charisma, a look, could talk well on the mic', and could have a good match depending on who it was with.
Greg Valentine vs. Ronnie Garvin in the submission match at Royal Rumble 90 never gets praised either, and it was actually really well done and had a lot of smart strategy to it.

Ric Flair VS. Big Show, ECW - 7/11/2006 - I never hear anything about this, but I dare say this was way better than it had any right to be.... it over-delivered, and actually kind of captured the spirit of the original ECW - one of the few times WWECW actually did that (with two performers that never performed for ECW, I might add).

I saw this one live. Strangely enough, Flair cut an anti-ECW promo at the beginning of the show. Somewhat surreal to watch a guy of Flair's stature not only taking bumps like he did here, but on what was clearly WWE's C show. EDIT: Also worth noting, I thought the Big Show was awesome as a dominating ECW champion. Wish the show was still on.

I remember reading that the Sci-Fi Channel executives saw this match and loved the violence - and told WWE/McMahon to do more stuff like this with the ECW program. So WWE in turn did the opposite and turned ECW into a watered-down WWE product..... and ECW ended up tanking. You gotta shake your head.
