Due to budget cuts, Steel Cage has been released. We wish Steel the best of luck in it's future endeavors. "What is Metal Enclosure doing in the Impact Zone!?" My two favorite posts here.

Man that was close. Scary Sh**! But it seems like WWE saw the danger too:

You can see that the cage does stop moving as Rollins jumps back. Thankfully the production crew keeps a close eye. Still damn scary to look at though. He still could have been stabbed at that clearance.

He still could have been stabbed at that clearance. Yeah, they stop the cage and I also think Rollins makes contact with the spike on purpose. It helps sell the idea that he couldn't just slide under the cage into the ring. Maybe it's just me but I was more concerned with him jumping off the top of the cage than I was that spot, which I honestly thought was total work until I came here and saw people freaking out over it. I don't know what was planned or unplanned but thankfully everything turned out alright, and I think the segment came off brilliantly.

Yeah watching that it looked scary but you can see the cage stopped. So someone was watching.

Aside from the Seth Rollins almost getting impaled bit, the main take way I got is they made Roman Reigns look vulnerable. Something many people have said the WWE needed to do with Reigns.

Vince: From now on, I don't want to ever hear of any of you complaining that you're getting stuck in a bad spot!

People have been complaining for weeks that without Ambrose, or to a greater degree Daniel Bryan, the Authority needs a higher purpose and now they are giving that to us in the way of Roman Reigns, who, like you said, people have wanted to see face adversity for weeks. I just tend to think it's a slow build, which makes sense if the grand idea is to put Reigns over at Mania. They need to build towards Reigns vs HHH by having Reigns go through Orton, Kane and Rollins for as long as possible. We've seen way too many Superman punches for my liking and I was happy to see the Authority come from a position of power last night. I still think the ultimate goal for Reigns needs to be beating HHH and then moving onto the World Title. Yes, it's the exact same story as Daniel Bryan but I think it will work again. I do think what Rollins was doing with Ambrose was working better than anything the Authority has done with Reigns so far though. Just my opinion but Ambrose was over more in the span of 3-5 weeks than what Reigns has ever been to this point, at least as a singles competitor. I think Rollins got a really nice reaction last night, from what was a pretty dead crowd for the majority of the show. So I love that Rollins is continuing to build his star as a heel since WWE desperately needs top villains.

Daniel Bryan started a movement to get what he wants. Reigns is just going to be built as going through the Authority to get what he wants

Bryan was also the underdog and Reigns is more of a Goldberg powerhouse type. Bryan's situation was far easier to rally behind because people love an underdog. Bryan's situation also felt far more organic imo. But I think that's mostly just splitting hairs because at the end of the day they are using the Authority in a very similar way in an effort to get Reigns over. So big picture it is just six inches, half a foot.

I'm pretty sure he did it on purpose. It led to the chair going in and him having to high dive off the top of the cage.

Am I the only one who saw the spike last night? I thought it was a very clever work. The cage slowed down as Seth went to go in to a complete stop right before it hits him. The commentary even went on to put over "the biggest backfire in wwe history" and barely mention Seth nearly getting killed. The way it all worked out seemed too smooth to be a botch

Ah okay even looking at the gif and I said the same during RAW last night, why did he go through the trouble of trying to climb up the ropes into the ring when if he really was supposed to get into the ring he could have just rolled under the bottom rope.

If the WWE goes through with a Triple H/Roman Reigns match, they would have to do it from now to the Survivor Series. I am glad they did that angle after RAW last night. It does Reigns more good than harm. Since Seth Rollins' heel turn, this is the strongest they've made him look so far. I loved that promo Rollins cut when he said he bought into the evolution of Seth Rollins. I feel the WWE hit a home run with the conclusion of RAW last night.

I'm just glad Seth is okay. I don't know how I'd be able to handle seeing a wrestler getting killed on live TV.
