Sorry, but I can't help but feel people are making excuses that The Rock didn't get. Rock was ridiculed on here for appearing via satellite when champion. A lot more than Lesnar does and Rock probably had less free time. I think it puts a lot of pressure on people trying to build his feuds when he's nowhere to be seen. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed Rock's reign and am enjoying having Lesnar as champion, I just don't understand why Lesnar gets special treatment while The Rock had abuse hurled at him.

Because it would cost them an arm and a leg for him to just stand there for 8-10 minutes and have Heyman talk for him anyway. But he's already paid MILLIONS? Right, but he's paid per appearance. If they keep the title on him until WM31, odds are we'd only see him on Raw once in between PPV's...

The difference to me is Paul Heyman. If Lesnar didn't have him, I think fans would be just as upset as they were with The Rock. Heyman's so great on the mic, I don't mind (right now) that Lesnar is only on Raw 1-2 times a month.

Possibly because the Rock continued to spew off lies about how he was back and never leaving again and things like that. With Brock, what you see is what you get. He's a mercenary and only fights for money, so why should he, character wise, make random appearances. He appears when he wants to because he's Brock. That's part of his gimmick.

If you're going to hate on the Rock for behind the scenes reasons, how can you love the guy who's not hiding the fact he doesn't care for the fans or the company? It's not part of no gimmick, he literally couldn't give 2 s. I'm not going to applaud him for it, but still find when he does appear he's entertaining, same with the Rock. I enjoyed both runs and it's been argued to death, just doesn't make much sense to me.

I was okay with him getting a short two month reign even though he wasn't around much, I just didn't like that he ended CM Punk's reign. I find both to be entertaining when they show up, Brock moreso since The Rock disappointed heavily in his recent runs, but I can see that people don't like fake. Some people, myself sometimes, would rather see someone who is a real prick than someone who comes off as a phony nice guy. I don't think the Rock is phony, but again, I'm just saying how some people might have viewed it.

Brock is the type of guy who will lose his luster if he's presented as just another guy who shows up every week.
