Anyone know if Hot Topic is going to be getting the new MOTU series? Got some hot cash and coupons I'm sitting on hoping they get them but I see other stores selling out already. Dont want to wait to long and miss them.

Dont want to wait to long and miss them. No idea really. They're getting an exclusive, so I would assume they would get the whole wave, but who knows. I will say this: I don't know anything behind the scenes, and I'm never one to tell people to panic, but I wouldn't be shocked if releases this year are/have been/will be produced in smaller numbers than previous years. Funko has been delaying or cancelling releases, they canned the whole social media team, and I'm hearing from people that Gamestops are only getting product to cover preorders. If you see something you know you really want, get it when you see it. Better safe than sorry. There's nothing worse than seeing a Pop go for 40 or 50 bucks online that you could have bought for 10.

Ur right sorceress and prince adam are sold out at most spots already. Probably just gotta pull the trigger. I know the day after I buy them hot topic will put them up.

You are 100% correct about Gamestop. I have spoken to three different store managers in my area and they have all said the same thing, that they are only getting new product to cover preorders, especially in collectibles. I don't know about Hot Topic getting new stuff, but that's where I've ordered a bunch of new Pops from lately. I have seen the MOTU ones on Books A Million's website as well.

I've been wanting to get some Castiel from Supernatural Pops he's one of my favorite characters of any show. I bought the HT Cass with wings on a restock on HT site last year so I went and ahead and got the Cass as Steve from Ebay, 2 down around 3 or 4 more to go.

Could Funkos be on their way down after all this time? If GameStop is only taking pre orders and some stores aren’t even getting new stuff makes me wonder. I kind of hate pre ordering because it takes the fun of out hunting which is half the fun of collecting.

I kind of hate pre ordering because it takes the fun of out hunting which is half the fun of collecting. I think the shine is coming off from such a stretch of os many people thinking all are valuable when only the super hard to get ones seem to hold value now. I have some from circa 2015 that are expensive due to being out of print and some chases that have some value but I think there have been enough shelf warming series and the fact that there is too much to collect in a sense, that things have calmed down. When I first got into POPs, it was exciting because there seemed to be something new almost every week... which was exactly why I had to get more selective over several other lines. Funko did do some recent layoffs scaling back on certain divisions, which I think a luxury item like theirs is destined to hurt under the current circumstances - think there is a perfect storm where the shine is coming off but I think they have so many ties and products I can’t see them ever fully going away, just slowing down.

Yeah that is true. A lot of stuff hasn’t gain that much value. The thing is though they just keep releasing what I feel like is the same lines over and over in different ways. If they put out new lines it keeps people Interested and buying. At least to me anyway.

there is a massive over-saturation problem with pops for sure that and the 2 big retailers, Target & Walmart seem to give ZERO s about them. Target is overloaded with 10" pops NOBODY wants. Walmart you're lucky to even find something besides stranger things or rick & morty pops. Plus they are hidden in the back of the video game department for some reason. Walmarts exclusives are a pain in the ass too. I went to dozens of Walmarts and never saw that Hulk Hogan once. but then they got those Star Wars shippers in last year with the gold versions, and there was what? 30 of each character per store? Target's POP area is always a ing mess, with crap everywhere, hard to look through. And they rarely stock anything new because all the shelf warmers sit there without being put on clearance for YEARS now. Seems like the only time Target cares is for the "events" where they mass-release a bunch at once, then the ones everyone wants sell out in a day or two, the rest are left to rot.

I do agree with you on the two big retailers, I think the last few years we have seen a big shift with companies about being totally geared towards kids with toys. We are seeing that with NECA, Super7, etc. Toys aren’t just for kids anymore, however on the retailer side of things I think we still get treated with that stigma. That “fat, sweaty slobs in sweatpants that still live in parents basement” I think Target especially got on the Funko train, and have these things that “sell” but they when stuff sits they don’t do anything about it. They just let it sit there and stuff never really rotates out. I think their are still a ton of people who collect pops and want them but to a certain extent with anything the bubble may not have burst but it deflated a bit.

I couldn't find the Hogan/Andre Pops for a while. Then I recently saw a whole bunch of them in a different part of the electronics department in my local Wal-Mart. Seems like I needed a map & a secret password to find them.

(2 were birthday gifts from my mom and Grandma ) Picked up John Cena at a sports store while on vacation Rick and Mr. Poopy Butthole were both birthday gifts from my sister Got Dwight from a local comic book store Ordered Buddy Elf Limited Edition from Mercari And finally, Jerry, Xenon Bloom, and Cornvelious Daniel were all from BAM as part of a buy 2 get one free sale

Only 11 NFL releases? Feels like that's fewer than normal. I'll consider picking up George Kittle, I like him a lot, and the Niners are one of my girlfriend's teams. No Raiders, no rookies. Maybe just the corona effect, but I figured it was a sure thing to at least have Burrow and Tua for rookies.
