Ever since returning at the 2014 Royal Rumble, Sheamus has been demonstrating some of the highest levels of physicality across the spectrum of match components. More so than any wrestler on the roster in fact. He has walked & wrestled with authority & a dire sense,of urgency for several weeks now.
A common motif of his matches has been knee based attacks with remarkable velocity, explosive clotheslines, slams, & backbreakers, on top of hurling himself to the outside in order to knock his opponent's block off.
The finest example was his match at Night Champions just this week. He wrestled what was arguably the most physical match of the night, while demonstrating the least fatigue on RAW just 24 hours later.
Has anyone else noticed this & how much will he have to ramp up his performances before he becomes a believable threat to Brock Lesnar?

Sheamus is awesome. I first thouhht so when he debuted, but I lost interest in wrestling for a while then. I'd like for him to lose the US title to Rusev via a cheat finish, get built back up and then challenge Lesnar. Lesnar should maybe face Big Show first.

I'm with Bartman, somewhat. I'd love to see him drop the US title to Rusev, as it'd be great for the Rusev character, but I can't really buy Sheamus as a legit threat to Lesnar right now.

I have been a Sheamus supporter heavily since he turned face against Henry. I have always supported him since I met him locally here in Ireland and hoped he would do well. I always called nonsense here when people said he couldn't work too.
I have noticed how the physical upswing has happened too he was always a talented brawler but he is REALLY laying into the moves lately......I genuinely think Cesaro & Sheamus stole the show Sunday and I think a scrap between Lesnar & Sheamus could be a thing of beauty.
A backstage showdown between Sheamus & Lesnar(SO simple to arrange) should lead to Heyman or Lesnar costing Sheamus the US title against Rusev.......If he were bound for a program with lesnar he would have to be protected during the loss of the IC strap.
Book some powerful pull apart brawls between the two(give them some serious thought) and then just let it fly.....

I do think Lesnar/Sheamus could be a good feud, but I'm not sure how quickly they could build Sheamus as a legit contender at this point...Or anyone for that matter. It'll be interesting to see where they go from here.

WWE makes him too much of a p*ssy to be a threat to Lesnar. Dont give him any mic time for a few months, then he will look like he can contend against Lesnar.

Sheamus is great & he works his ass off in the ring. I don't care what anyone says.

His performances aren't the issue, he's been very very good for a long time. His being booked into midcard oblivion is what's stopping him from being a believable threat to Brock Lesnar.

I don't think it's just Sheamus. I like how the Big Show is doing the little things to surprise people in the ring. A while back when he added the spear to his moveset, or the sunset flip he did a week or so ago... In that sense, maybe having Brock Lesnar as champion is a really good thing if it's making these guys step up their game...

He's physical alright, I just wish he wouldn't always take back control with crappy gut punches.

if people are so unwilling to see anyone being built up to Lesnar levels, then they have to bring him down and it's ridiculous so many people are willing to accept that. The conditions people will set for the storylines in WWE are just nuts

I think Sheamus would be a good opponent for Lesnar or even Rusev (if we must see him through to his inevitable destruction by Cena). He really does put on good matches and he's good on the mic. Like many others, I thought Sheamus/Cesaro was the match of the night (of champions).
I was a little annoyed that Sheamus took about 3 kicks to the face toward the end of the match and his one, desperation comeback brogue kick knocked out Cesaro for several minutes. I know it's supposed to be a finisher, but come on, it's really that much more powerful than Cesaro kicks to the face?

I have always thought he was pretty solid in the ring, and he has really improved on that even more lately. His character is a bit goofy as well as his promos. And yeah, being booked poorly for a few years now as well. I'd prefer he just retire the US championship. Who even wants it?

Sheamus is my favorite guy on the roster, ever since turning face in 2011. It's a shame he is so immensely underrated and gets hated on so much.

I love Sheamus' sense of urgency as of late. He strives to be in the main event instead of lingering in the mid card for the rest of his career. And in the process he has helped rehabilitate the stature of the US title.

It's crazy seeing more and more people liking Ryback and Sheamus these days.

I've been a Sheamus fan since his second WWE title reign and ever since John Morrison left he's been my favorite guy on the roster. But yeah, he's definitely been even more fun to watch as of late.

I've always liked Sheamus in the ring. He generally has good matches and lets opponents hit all of their spots. My two grudges with him are that A.) Outside of the ring, his character sucks. He isn't funny, he's mean to people who haven't done anything to him, and he's unquestionably a huge racist, and B.) Every single goddamn match ends with "BROGUE KICK! FROM OUTTA NOWHERE!" instead of organically working towards a finish that makes sense. I get that it's his finishing move, but it takes so much time and space to set up, you always see it coming at least 30 seconds in advance. His matches ending with the "surprise" Brogue Kick are the "Wrestler dives facefirst into Randy Orton's RKO" of finishes.
