Today, I realized I hadn't watched the Star Wars flick in about a year, so I'm currently sitting here enjoying 'A New Hope', but I have to say -- Return of the Jedi is my favorite.
While I don't hate the prequels as much as some do, these first three are just so magical, in their own right. And for me, 'Jedi' was the pay off that story deserved. It was a fantastic bit of character evolution with Luke bordering on the dark side. The action, for me, was the best of the original trilogy, and I just thought it hit all the right notes.
So if I had to rank it personally:
Jedi
Empire
Sith
Hope
Phantom
Clones
Figured this could be an interesting topic given ep VII is coming soon.
And let's avoid the fighting. A great many of us are passionate Star Wars nerds (the damn thing has it's own religion. I mean, come on). We all have our opinions; let's respect each other, and if you disagree with someone's tastes, let's create civil discussion.

 it. Phantom Menace. I'm not a big Star Wars fan, but I loved the Qui Gonn Jinn character, and the best scene of any by far is the 3 way duel between Obi-Wan, Qui Gonn and Darth Maul. |

A New Hope. I feel like Empire was almost as good... but the other four movies are all closer to awful than good.

Empire, I'm a sucker for the good guys loosing and the villain looking boss.
That and I love be cloud city, I wanna live there.
Really like Sith too. I would rank them but I love Star Wars anything so it's impossible beside Emoire being my favourite. Hell I even half like Jar jar.

I always loved ROTS, mainly because I think it's awesome how the saga came full circle and because the previous movies sucked so bad that this one was a refreshing change of face. The effects were beautiful too. I used to love ROTJ the most, but I've changed my mind a bit. My order is...

A New Hope
Return of the Jedi
Phantom Menace

It's definitely The Empire Strikes Back by far. It's damn good, plus you get the reveal that Darth Vader is Luke Skywalker's father. Revenge of the Sith is a close second for me since it was finally nice to see how the hell Anakin ended up in the suit.
I just hope that the new trilogy isn't shit.

I love anything and everything Star Wars, but Empire Strikes Back is by far my favorite movie.
My order would be:
1. Empire
2. New Hope
3. Return of the Jedi
4. Revenge of the Sith

I love all of the Star Wars flicks. It's hard to choose. Being only 24 I grew up with the old ones but the newer 3 transported me to a world I never knew.
