I know most people will disagree and I'm aware of all the criticisms but I've come to the conclusion that the Jakks TNA line overall are the best wrestling figures ever. I'm only comparing the modern real scan era so nothing from WCW or anything counts. Some of the Jakks WWE ones were good and some of the Marvel toys TNA ones were good and a few WWE Mattel are slightly interesting but I look at Velvet Sky DI 7 vs that Mattel Kaitlyn figure or RVD DI 10 vs RVD WWE basic Series 43 and there's just no comparison. I mean Mattel doesn't even paint the lips on their figures... Every Mattel figure I've ever seen has that soft kind of cartoonish look to it RVD almost looks like a Sims avatar... I don't like that Jakks figures are out of scale with each other and that Mick Foley towers over Nash or that they use the same few parts for all the figures... and things like just painting a regular hand mold black for Sting's glove on that exclusive joker style figure so you can still see the fingernail mold but the faces on Jakks are way way more accurate than anything Mattel has ever come close to and in some cases I think the bodies are better too. Some of the tattoos are painted better and obviously Deluxe TNA is better than Basic WWE. Although Elites do come with accessories and Jakks still gives Austin Aries and Chris Sabin a belt that they technically never even held since that belt design was replaced 3 years before they became champion... But I just honestly can't see what line anybody could say is better than Jakks TNA except maybe Marvel TNA... maybe my pro-TNA bias is showing...

I agree about the faces on most of the Jakks TNA figures but that is the ONLY thing that comes close to Mattel in this line
Just my opinion
Would love for you to post this in the Mattel section, just to read all the hate you'd get

I like my figures being their accurate sizes. I still have a shelf of Jakks figures but Mattel is better at pretty much everything except head paint apps.

I've come to the conclusion that the Jakks TNA line is worst.

Jakks nailed a lot of their headscans, that's about the only thing they've got going for them and IMO it's not enough to take down Mattel. Some of Mattel's scans are pretty crappy yes, however they do have a nice collection of spot-on scans in their corner. Not to mention their deco is outstanding. Mattel wins by leaps and bounds over Jakks

Mattel trumps Jakks on many levels, this being my opinion so not bashing you, but I agree that Jakks has many strengths as well. Just because they aren't #1 in my book doesn't mean they aren't worth collecting. They still have much to offer and I love them. I haven't watched TNA in a year, but for many years they were my favorite wrestling program. 2007-2010 TNA was leaps and bounds more interesting than WWE from that same period.

TNA jakks line is the best is a pretty far out opinion. The heads are good, but the releases are so inconsistent and in 4 years they've put out, what, 43 or 44 unique characters? Mattel has put out 200+ unique characters.
However, I could completely understand you preferring Jakks DA as a whole to Mattel or anything else. There is actual character depth here, and a lot of Jakks DA wrestlers have wrestled in TNA such as MVP Lashley Tommy Dreamer Sandman Sabu Lots of others I can't think of right now.. but however There is no real "best" when it comes to action figures, it is all a matter of opinion. Honestly, I think the closest we've ever come to the most accurate wrestling figures of all time was Marvel TNA, when they made new body molds for almost everybody and the articulation was insane. The only only problem was that some of the figs were less articulated and smaller then others.

I actually love Jakks TNA. The figures are really sweet. The attires and the headscans are pretty good. The only thing I can't stand is the cheap plastic they're using.

Some of the figures look amazing but as a total line it's the worst in recent memory due to lack of scale and limited diversity in parts. When assessing a line you have to compare the figures to the other figures in the line and consider the sum of its parts. As soon as you see amazing red with arms the same size and hulk hogan, you can't take the line seriously.

Okay here goes...
JAKKS - I DESPISE this cheap plastic they use I mean they snap WAY too easily however the Head Scans are 100x better than Mattel I prefer there WWE figures to Mattel, but... They miss out too many figures! I mean we need an Updated Gail, Madison and we at least need a Brittany, Christy, Havok, Taryn and why so many Velvets??? We never got a Tara/Victoria or Mickie or ODB either so...
MATTEL - The quality is better they make more of a variety each time and WAY more Divas but some of there work is sloppier here is an example
Too me Jakks win WAY more detail better scan (even though this is a very good scan for Maryse) And better hair considering Maryse looks bald from the front

The TNA line is great but it has some major cons. -All figures had same body mold -Jakks would put snowboots on the figures when they wore kickpads ex. AJ Styles, RVD, Alex Shelley -Hardly any new characters -Constant Repaints -Unreleased Figures we all wanted -Cheap plastic noticeable on new figures -Heights are wrong -Never gave us any of the new titles

As for the accessory issue, I saw a Elite Batista in Walmart without any and the spot that usually lists the accessories said "includes highly detailed tattoos!"... So basically that's how a Deluxe Impact Batista would look if he was in TNA only then he would have lips and pupils...

I think the quality of details is waaay better than the WWE lines from RA-DA era.
Notably DI 3 Shark Boy, Desmond Wolfe, Rob Van Dam and D'Angelo Dinero from DI 4, and DI 5 Angelina Love (and maybe others, but not really noticed) are missing key (notice I said key details, not minor ones) details, but all the rest have blown me away and I didn't expect Jakks to include things they have.
Stuff like Hulkamania on DI 2 Hogan's wrist tape, Kurt's tattoo (FINALLY!), all of Sting's scorpions, MCMG's designs, Jeff's tats... f***ing brilliant!
I can get past the scale issues, because I have no other TNA figures to compare them to, and they have better headscans and details. The loose joints are a paint but not too bad if you play lightly like I do.

Jakks will always have Mattel beat in headscans, and in the variety of different figures/names. However, Mattel will always have Jakks beat in scale, and quality. Not everyone is ripped like they've injected 5 doses of steroids.

Jakks and Mattel use the same company for scanning - Gentle Giant Studios and also use many of the same sculptors. Jakks may have given some better paint applications, but the scans are all about the same quality.

They use the same company, but looks like the started to suck at their jobs, mattel has some horrendous scans, and their paint apps for them Blow too, and the hair is abysmal.
