I would say save it for Mania 32. That's the one that is rumoured to be in Dallas Texas yeah? If he wants to go against someone new who could tear the house down. Austin vs Ambrose. The Texas Rattlesnake vs The Lunatic Fringe.
I NEED IT!!

Punk or bust. So it's bust. My thoughts exactly. Straight edge means I'm better than you heel vs Austin is money. No one else can play that role. Ambrose is close, but he can't even get a pin on Kane so he's out of the running. I sure as hell never want to see GOAT's time wasted putting over Cena.

He's been open to returning for years now, but Austin has said time and time again that it would have to make sense and the WWE would have to pitch him an idea that would make it worthwhile to come back for. And given how horrible the creative team is, it doesn't surprise me at all that the WWE still hasn't come up with anything that would interest Steve.
I don't even know who I'd want to see Austin feud with if he were to come back, though. I don't have any interest in seeing him job to Cena, and I don't imagine an Austin and Lesnar match working because their in-ring styles don't really mesh well together. If the WWE was smart they would offer Austin and Punk a huge payoff for Wrestlemania 32 in Dallas. It won't happen because Triple H's ego won't allow him to swallow his pride and do the right thing, but it's nice to dream about it.

I'm assuming they would push for Austin vs. Lesnar, no?
Paul Heyman kept hinting at it during his podcast episode with Austin.

I don't get why everyone wants Austin to face punk. Besides punk being straight edge and Austin the beer drinker there isn't much to do besides rehash the old punk/hardy feud.
There are plenty of guys Austin could feud with on the current roster. Ambrose and Wyatt POp to mind right away. They could do a face vs face feud with Austin putting over reigns big. Or they could do a dream match at wm with Austin and sting. Plenty of options that don't involve punk.

What about his neck problems? Doesnt he have the same as Edge where if he does one wrong move, he could be paralyzed for life?

save the match with Rock as your last, Austin. leave the memories alone. History is best viewed through rose colored glasses and when you go out at Mania, you're not going to find a better final match. It'd be like if Edge was fit enough to safely wrestle a match, so he came back to face Sheamus on Smackdown.

surprise entrant at the rumble. wins it. authority hates it, tries to take him down, lesnar/stone cold at mania. seems natural. then stone cold/cena.

They only 2 guys I see SCSA facing and that's Lesnar and Cena. I have no interested in seeing Austin face anyone else. He could step up against Lesnar or challenge Cena and whoop his ass and show who's the real #1 guy in WWE.

I suspect he was joking around, if anything. But if it's true, that could be awesome. Gives Cena or Lesnar a main event opponent without needing the title, and thus frees up Rusev to lose to a rebooted Ryback. It won't happen because Punk's ego won't allow him to swallow his pride and do the right thing, but it's nice to dream about it. Fixed (well, made less ridiculous, at least). What about his neck problems? Doesnt he have the same as Edge where if he does one wrong move, he could be paralyzed for life? No, his problems weren't the same as Edge's. Austin could come back for the right money and pitch. It wasn't just the neck injury that did Austin in, he had a bunch of other stuff going on at the time.

If Austin returns it's almost guaranteed it'll be against Brock Lesnar. That's the biggest match possible and as much as Punk fans will hate it, Austin/Lesnar is a MUCH bigger match especially with how Lesnar has been booked.

This would be so amazing. As a Texan, I love Austin and we still love him. Videos of Austin at RAW got bigger pops than most wrestlers that night. I do hope he is really coming back. But if it's against Lesnar, I really hope it's back and forth. I'd also love a match with Cena on RAW.
However, if he risks his health, then no.

I'm the minority who would rather see Austin continue his podcast and not have to deal with a company that he clearly doesn't need to appear for for him to still be recognised, match or not.
I worry about his neck too, that he's near 50.

There's nobody in the WWE I actually want to see him face currently. kinda how I feel. Love him, but I don't see a logical place for him, but that doesn't mean they can't create one.

What about his neck problems? Doesnt he have the same as Edge where if he does one wrong move, he could be paralyzed for life? This worries me also. Will he pass the physical? If Angle can't then I highly doubt Austin would. surprise entrant at the rumble. wins it. authority hates it, tries to take him down, lesnar/stone cold at mania. seems natural. then stone cold/cena. Or a young person could win the rumble and beat Lesnar so they actually have stars for the future when part timers aren't around. They only 2 guys I see SCSA facing and that's Lesnar and Cena. I have no interested in seeing Austin face anyone else. He could step up against Lesnar or challenge Cena and whoop his ass and show who's the real #1 guy in WWE. Do you want to see Austin become paralyzed? He damn near crippled Taker, who is actually in wrestling shape. Better than Austin anyway. And why oh why would you want to see Cena go over another legend? He's peaked. Plus, it'll make Cena look terrible when he gets booed even farther out of the building against the face of the company from 17 years ago.

Austin had a great ending, going out against his main rival in a blaze of glory. I don't think that needs to be tarnished.
