So Monday im hopping on a plane to Tampa and then driving to Clearwater Beach for a few days. I've NEVER been to Florida in my entire 26 years on this planet and am really looking forward to it.
It helps that I woke up this morning and the temperature outside was 39 degrees where I live.
Any tips, suggestions, recommendations while I'm down there?
I will add pics upon my return home (as usual).

I hear a lot of bad stories about Florida, so be careful and have fun.

Lots of old people. Avoid the Early Bird Specials at any restaurant. Don't bring back any fireworks or seashells with you. Baby powder will take the sand off of your feet really quick.

Man, I love CLearwater Beach. My family has been going there since the late 50s. My grandparents started taking me in 1980. I go at least every couple of years. It's my favorite beach in Florida, and only a 7 hour drive from Atlanta. It's a bit more touristy now, but the beach itself is just top notch. It's also pretty relaxed. Get some fresh grouper while you are out there. It's amazing. Crabby Bills is right by the beach and has some great food.
Avoid the Beachcomber. It is overpriced, and the food is very bland because only old people eat there. And it isn't very good.

Florida is great. I've lived here for practically my entire life. Tampa has an amazing aquarium to visit. Clearwater Beach is really nice. I think the Gulf Coast provides clearer water than the east coast of Florida. It's perfect weather now. I'm about 220 miles Northeast if Clearwater (Jacksonville) and it's 80 degrees, so it will be warner, but it isn't typical scorching hot Floridian weather right now. Enjoy your trip.

I went to Clearwater water last year. My friend and I always would drive my dad down to lehigh acres where my mom lives from jersey. So last year we heard about hogans beach shop and it's only 3 hours away so we took the trip. So nice you will like it....
If u happen to hit up the beach shop I suggest the restaurant and bar next to it and get the wings. They got a 5.00 special on Tuesdays. Soooo good

Amazing. Clearwater Beach is near where I grew up, and as well as where I aspire to retire. Feel free to walk around the beach and its boardwalk. The sea tours stationed around are very interesting, and I remember a tour a few years ago that would take you to Hogan's house. Be sure to head out to Crabby Bills if you like seafood! The Busch Gardens in Tampa is a great visit, as well as the other parks that reside near Orlando. (About a two hour drive.) Lettuce Lake Park in Tampa is also an interesting visit if you're into nature, it's a very beautiful park, and it's a great place to take kids. Hope you have a great time!

Drink a lot of Orange Juice while your here. I left 90 degree weather here for 40's-60's in New Hampshire 2 weeks ago, came home to 80's-90's and got sick from the temperature difference. Let goodies powder and Vitamin C vitamins be your friend on the trip.

Lol not quite. I'm not 30, I'm not fat and I don't live in my parents basement... Contrary to popular belief.

Drive south along the coast and there are restaurants and beaches almost continuously. If you like trinket shopping, John's Pass is in Madeira Beach. If you continue south you pass through Treasure Island and get to St Pete Beach, which is excellent. There is a restaurant there called Skidder's that has excellent food. At the end of that beach, there is a golf course in an area called Tierra Verde if that is to your liking. It is probably 25 minutes to St. Pete Beach, but there are numerous areas with beaches in between if you do not want to go that far that are nice as well.
