Attachment Deleted Attachment DeletedFull galleries of the previously seen Cyrax, and the newly revealed MK3 Scorpion: Cyrax - news.toyark.com/2019/06/19/full-details-and-photos-for-the-mortal-kombat-cyrax-figure-by-storm-collectibles-349356MK3 Scorpion - news.toyark.com/2019/06/14/mortal-kombat-3-scorpion-figure-photos-and-info-by-storm-collectibles-348990First the positive - Cyrax looks amazing. Can't wait to get that. We've already seen prototypes of Sektor and Cyber Smoke, but I wonder if they'll do a Cyber Sub-Zero down the line too? Personally I'm all for maximizing use of the mold and profits from it, even if Cyber Sub-Zero never actually appeared in MK3. I'm also still hoping they might use the MK1/MK2 ninja mold a few more times to do Tremor, Chameleon, an "invisible" Reptile (cast in clear plastic), and I'd even take Oniro (the white ninja) who was the Lin Kuei Grandmaster in the cartoon for those who don't know. I do agree with those who say we need more characters than just ninjas, but at the end of the day when the mold is already made, it makes sense to get as much use and profit as possible from it, profits that can be used towards the costs of tooling more characters. Now to the negatives - MK3 Scorpion definetely has a few problems. The front of his costume is inaccurate - the opening should be wider and should not be pointed at the bottom, the yellow squares should have more depth in the sculpt (they're supposed to be padded/raised, not flat), and there is NOT supposed to be a yellow line between the pads and the opening either. Also the standard mask is too big, the shape isn't quite right, and it's too glossy. The eyebrows of the face seem a bit exaggerated/cartoony too. Storm never seems to respond to fan messages or emails, and this is apparently getting an early release at SDCC, so almost certainly these inaccuracies will NOT be fixed. Very disappointing, particularly since they will no doubt be using this mold to make many other MK3 style ninjas in future. This is the first time I've felt Storm has dropped the ball with their MK line, hopefully they will improve the mold before the next MK3 ninja, or at least will not be so careless again in maintaining accuracy to the reference material. Here's a link to images from the actual game if other people want to compare: www.mortalkombatwarehouse.com/umk3/scorpion/

They could've done a better job with Scorpion. It looks nothing like his MK3 gear.

Does Storm show off anything at SDCC? I'd really love news on a Kitana and Mileena soon.

I was fortunate enough to have a friend grab me a Smoke from NYCC. I did a review here, I think it's worth checking out if you're curious.
Long story short, I think it's great. They did an amazing job with the articulation, you'll be able to hit all of his in game poses pretty easily I would think. The accessories are nice too, although the smoke effects aren't really my cup of tea (much like they weren't on the previous MKII Smoke). Excited to get Sektor and Cyrax now.
Tomorrow I'll have a review up of the McFarlane MK11 Sub-Zero, which I'll post here too.

That Cyber Sub-Zero would work as a con exclusive for sure. I know it's not "classic" but I'd still grab it for sure.

Anyone curious to check out McFarlane's new MK11 Sub-Zero, I broke it down here in this review. To be frank and brief - it's pretty good. I don't think it's as good as the Storm line by any stretch, but it's by no means a bad figure at all.

(Missed the boat on Storm).

These are a couple of dioramas I made for an upcoming MK stop motion project I've been working on. I like how they turned out, figured maybe some MK fans in here might dig them. I'm currently working on the Pit, which I look forward to finishing.

Picked up McFarlane Scorpion last night. Another really nice figure for the price, although I think I still like Sub-Zero more overall. Still a fun one to get, and he looks good with other MK figures.
