I saw the McFarlane Raiden last night at GameStop. I passed on it, the coloring isn't doing it for me. The accessories did look great, though. I may pick it up if I see it cheap, since the staff in particular would look cool with the upcoming Storm Collectibles Raiden.

What's everyone hoping for from Story Collectibles for MK at Toy Fair?
Ideally, I'd love some release info for the figures they've shown already (Kitana, Mileena, MK3 Unmasked Sub-Zero). I'd love any updates on Johnny Cage and Liu Kang as well.
I'd be floored if they had a display piece for Motaro, since they teased the tail on their IG a while back.

What's everyone hoping for from Story Collectibles for MK at Toy Fair? Storm's Mortal Kombat is my currently favorite figure line, and MK is one of my favorite franchises of all time, so naturally I have a lot of ideas and hopes for what I'd like (certainly more than will ever be realized, sadly). First and foremost I want to see Storm keep the line going for as long as possible, so we can get as many of the classic characters and costumes as possible. So whenever there's a toy show appearance or news article, I'm basically just hoping to see lots of product and progress. In terms of specific characters, I would eventually like Storm to do a figure of every single playable/fightable character and costume from MK1, MK2 and MK3(+updates), so as long as the characters/costumes from those games keep coming, I'm not generally that fussed about the order in which they appear. That said, I would give a few characters slightly higher priority, mainly because they would be more difficult to customize should the line end and I need to resort to creating customs to fill gaps in the character roster. Namely: 1) Motaro & Sheeva (because they are not human shaped) 2) MK2 style Female Ninja (because I'd need to customize several and it would be tricky to get the sculpts to match without resorting to casting which is a lot of hassle) 3) Transparent MK1/MK2 style "Invisible" Reptile or Chameleon (since again it would be tricky to customize without resorting to casting) 4) Kintaro (slightly lower priority since Goro could be used as a custom base but still would be a tricky custom) 5) MK1 Shang Tsung (since it would be tricky to customize playable long robes without resorting to using cloth which is not my preference) 6) MK2 Liu Kang (simply because he's the protagonist of the franchise, and MK2 is my favorite MK game) Other than those slight priorities, my only other preference is that ALL the playable/fightable characters and costumes from MK1, MK2, and MK3(+updates) are done first before exploring any later games (obviously I'm only talking about my own personal fantasy wants here, I'm not considering marketing strategy or anything). After all the playable/fightable characters from those games have theoretically been done (and unfortunately given the history of past MK figure lines, it's unlikely we'll even reach that milestone) the next characters I'd most want would be background characters from those games (e.g. Masked Guards, Shadow Priests, etc), then once the line has comprehensively covered the original games, I'd love to see it expand into other MK games (MK Mythologies Sub-Zero and MK4 would be next in line for me) and I'd also really love to see figures based on characters featured in John Tobias' original MK comics (e.g. King Gorbak, Master Wu), perhaps some of the Malibu Comics characters, and even established myth/rumor characters I would absolutely love (e.g. Nimbus Terrafaux). The only thing I have no interest in are figures based on the movies, TV shows or cartoons, since I was not a fan of any of those. So yeh, I'm definetely setting myself up for disappointment since there's no way this line will ever realize all my ideas and hopes. But if we could at least get one figure of every classic character that would be pretty amazing. Oh and also I'm hoping whatever mistakes were made that resulted in the MK3 Ninja costume sculpt being very inaccurate will not happen again with any other MK figure. Since Storm really dropped the ball there in my opinion.

Oh and also I'm hoping whatever mistakes were made that resulted in the MK3 Ninja costume sculpt being very inaccurate will not happen again with any other MK figure. Since Storm really dropped the ball there in my opinion. That’s a lot to unpack, haha. I’m with you though, Storm’s MK line is probably my favorite line going right now. I would love to see Shang Tsung in any version, be it old man final boss MK1 or younger, restored MKII or MK3. He’s been one of my favorite characters for a long time, Goro seems lonely without him. You mentioned Kintaro, that’s another great idea. Storm loves repaints, so I’m sure we may see that Goro sculpt used again. Hopefully with updated ankle articulation this time around. The MKII female ninjas have been shown already, so I’m eager to hear release info. I’m hoping for Kitana and Mileena by the end of the year, which would make Jade a perfect con exclusive. As for Liu Kang, MKII or MK3 version would be a huge hit for me. Johnny Cage is a character where I hope we see the MK1 shorts/sash gear, as well as the more recognizable MKII black/blue pants with sneakers look. As for later games, I’m right there with you in hoping we see the original games represented before the newer, MK4 and beyond rosters. My exception would be Quan Chi, since he’s factored in a lot in the new continuity. If they make Jax, I would hope he’d be the metal arm version and they’d skip over the bare arms (or at least, if possible, make interchangeable arms). The metal look is so much more iconic to me.

Got Johnny Cage today. I didn't like the Raiden, but this one is definitely my favorite out of the McFarlane offerings so far. The paint work on the coat is a definite selling point.

Had a good few weeks and managed to get decent deals on Goro and Shao Khan. Also got myself scorpion and sub zero and baraka still to come. Glad storm haven’t made tons yet as I’m sore in the wallet.

The UMK3 Scorpion and Sub-Zero? Or the MK1/MKII originals? Good figures either way, it's good you got Goro and Shao Kahn at decent prices. Shao Kahn in particular is a great figure.

Motaro looks great, I'll be buying at least 2 since I want to make a custom of another Centaurian.
Disappointed that's the only completely new figure shown though (since I don't care about or count variants). I guess it's possible more new figures will be unveiled as the event progresses, but considering Storm's previous event showings, in this case I'd guess probably not, unfortunately.
I'm also feeling concerned why there's STILL no updates on the previously shown characters (Johnny Cage, Kitana, Liu Kang, Mileena, unmasked Sub-Zero). Though I think it's pretty likely it's the original actor likeness rights causing the delays there. Considering Raiden's distinctly non-Carlos-Pesina-looking face it's obvious Storm isn't willing to pay for the likeness rights, which sucks and is the wrong call in my opinion, but judging by the rather Dan-Pesina-looking Johnny Cage prototype in particular, I'm guessing Storm sculpted the heads too close to the original actors likenesses (and probably was/is planning to include unmasked heads for the girls) and the delays we're experiencing with these 5 figures were caused by them having to redo the heads to be more generic looking. Again this is just a guess, perhaps I'm wrong. Hopefully these characters are still on the way, unfortunately Storm consistently ignores all fan messages and questions (as pathetic and unprofessional as that is) so we have no way of knowing.
Still negative points aside, I'm really glad to get Motaro, as he was one of my top wants. Sheeva is now my top want. Just wish the new figures would come a bit faster.

Could obviously have big guys like shao Khan and goro be bafs, but also less crucial things like a ice clone sub zero or even an arena build

McFarlane also showed MK11 Baraka and Kitana. Baraka doesn’t do much for me, but I really liked how Kitana looked.

Doesn't Storm typically reveal more at non-american events throughout the year? I know they do some shows in Asia that they may showcase some things or give new information. Raiden happened quickly, it seems like only 6 or 7 months have been from reveal to full-scale production. As much as I want Kitana/Mileena, MK3 Sub-Zero, and the others already shown, if they still release other figures in between I'll be content. Motaro is looking excellent, I'll probably have to build a new diorama because he looks to be even taller than Goro. It'd be great to have an MK3 diorama with the cyborgs and (hopefully) the unmasked Sub-Zero eventually. Lastly, I said it a while back (maybe even in this thread), but a red P2 Raiden makes perfect sense and I'm honestly happy they're doing it. I wonder if the outer vest is easily removable (maybe by popping arms and head off), leaving us with an all-white MK1 style Raiden? That'd be sweet.

I haven't gone looking for Spawn at all yet. To be honest, even though he's technically an MK figure and he's a great looking piece, I was never the biggest Spawn fan so I'm in no rush.
I did get my UMK3 Sub-Zero over the weekend. I prefer the look of the older style ninjas over their Trilogy/UMK3 costumes, but the blue on this Sub-Zero is FAR nicer than the original version. That, and his ice effects are stellar this time around. Worth the purchase for sure.

I’m really hyped to preorder Spawn. Hopefully, they’ll be enough online for everyone to get theirs. I’ve been watching the cartoon and it’s bringing back memories of when I used to play it on the ps2.
