Maybe 15 years ago lol, now all they care about is ring work. Anyone who can talk worth a damn is ruined the second Vince finds out they can talk. Ambrose and Rollins are dead then. No, Ambrose is dead. Rollins isn't a great mic worker. Plus, Rollins has H's backing and he's got MITB.

I appreciate him more now that he has been gone.. but dude was waaaaaaaaay too corny on the mio. Just terrible. He would be a good 'Paul Heyman Guy' is they gave him a monster push.

One of my all-time favorites. He wasn't that bad on the mic, he and Miz tore it up every friday on The Dirt Sheet. I remember refreshing wwe.com every few minutes for the newest episode. Pure gold.

Lots of main eventers are bad on the mic so I don't get why people are so picky with Morrison.

Yeah, everyone's so quick to discredit Morrison for his mic work but lest we forget we get even crappier guys on the mic weekly. Not to mention the dude can effin' go.
WF's favorite, least-favorite guy Sheamus has said JoMo gave him the best matches that allowed him to find his niche in the WWE.

Come on, he's not that bad. He could have had any manager to help him. He could have been booked so gifted that he doesn't need to talk. He was one of the worst mic workers I can remember. His promos seemed like he was reading from cue cards.THAT would be a great gimmick!

Bret Hart was one of the worse promo guys out there and he was world champ many times. Now I don't think Morrison would have been a 16 time world champion at all. But I do believe with a little bit of more coaching and whatnot, he could have been a solid main eventer for a while.

I can't think of a main event caliber guy right now that's worse on the microphone than John Morrison. There aren't any. Unless someone counts Cesaro as a main eventer -- he gives Morrison a run for his money. His promo on Main Event a few weeks ago when he wrestled Swagger was as painful as anything Morrison ever did. As for the actual top five to ten guys in WWE, the ones that actually main event shows, they're all a good ten million times better than Morrison. Ziggler and Orton are nowhere near great talkers, but they are nowhere near as bad as JoMo.

If Kofi Kingston was white, he would be John Morrison.

He wasn't magic on the stick but he got his point across, never come off looking dumb and was more than fine in the role. Especially during 1997.

^ I think he would've done well as a main-event star. He could work a good match with anyone and had a phenomenal look. But he was horse sh*t on the mic. I was a huge fan of JoMo, and I have to agree. It was a shame really.

Bret had one solid year on the mic and that's because he was just shooting on HBK for half the year. Just my opinion. That's not to say he didn't have some good stuff mixed in there but he was just a meat and potatoes type of guy when it came to mic work. He said what needed to be said and that was never going to be why people cared about him.
That being said, I think JoMo not being able to talk is more comparable to Jeff Hardy not being able to talk. JoMo was super flashy and his look paired with that moveset helped win him win fans. I'm a pretty big JoMo fan, but the guy was as bad as it gets on the mic when it came to cutting babyface promos. He wasn't nearly as atrocious as Johnny Nitro or with Miz, but when your entire arsenal of moves makes you a babyface then you have to learn how to cut babyface promos, which is why I think JoMo never got beyond the midcard. He would have had to pull a Jeff and just sling mad merchandise to get elevated imo.
There was a period in 2009ish I guess it was, where I thought he was in line to be bumped up to that next level and it never happened. After that he still had some really good matches but grew really stale as a character, and stagnant. Enough time has passed that I'm ready to see him again. I think he would be great as a tag team guy or potentially as a cocky heel challenging someone like Sheamus, who he had great matches with in the past. The roster has gotten a little more athletic since he left, and he could really do well with the NXT 5 imo. So there is some stuff I would like to see if he is willing to come back, which I always thought he would eventually. I always assumed JoMo leaving was like a 6 month to a year thing and he's been gone way longer than I thought he would be.

I always saw him as a Rey type of guy, not a big time main eventer.
