Remove the arms, but leave the shoulders on the body? I basically want to pull the arm off at the bicep and be able to reattach it easily.

yeah, boil some water, and dip the arm into the water. leave it in there for about 15 seconds, and take it out. you can either just bite it off, or use some sort of tool to take it off, either way will work

Yup, the method above works wonders. Just be careful not to let the torso dip into the water as well. It doesn't damage anything, but when you pull the fig out to remove the arm, the hot water will have gotten inside the tors. Moving it oddly can cause it all to suddenly pour out onto your hand.
Also, if you need to work fast, just put the water in a mug and heat it up in the microwave for 2minutes. I prefer doing that, rather than sitting by the stove.

Leave the water alone.
Get a hair dryer.
On high heat, heat the arm around the bicep/shoulder. Once it becomes rubbery, pull the arm off. The shoulder should stay in the torso.
To cool down, throw it in the freezer for a minute.
