I don't have much of a problem with people who hunt, and use the animal for food. It's a pretty natural thing. But I do like to think that we have evolved as a culture past hunting for sport. Just seems a bit barbaric to hunt and kill an animal for sport and hang it's head in your den as a trophy. Especially the wild endangers game in Africa and such. Living in the south I know a lot of people who do it, I just don't identify with it or particularly understand it. The mindset of killing something for amusement is hard for me to grasp.

I understand why its done and what its benefits are, but I hate it. I view it as a necessary evil. I don't dislike people that do it, but I could never, ever bring myself to partake in any way, shape or form. That's of course if its being done for food. Hunting for sport is something I can't really get behind. The big game stuff disgusts me.
I know I'm hypocritical to some extent, because I'm not a vegetarian. I eat chicken, bacon, and pepperoni, but I could just never do it myself.
We're currently in the midst of a state referendum here in Maine regarding our laws on bear hunting. The two choices are equally bad for people who love animals. It sucks.

I think hunting for sport is just pointless.
Especially the fox hunt they used to do in the UK, that was just awful.
I think it's totally fine for food, but I personally don't get enjoyment out of killing something.

I'm with you, OP...I eat meat, and I've even eaten meat from deers that someone else hunted on a few occasions, but I could never personally kill an animal for food, and especially not for sport.

farther up from where i am in northern ontario, and elsewhere in canada, there are plenty of natives living off the land at least partially still. they do not have this mindset of "let's go shoot some crap" that the redneck dudes from my town and elsewhere do. not saying only native canadians have hunting right, just saying there is a mindset that is negative about hunting that is often connected to the commercial view of it.
i do find there is a direct connection between the people i know who want to/do own guns also being pro war.

I love venison. It makes delicious jerky, smokies, chili and tacos.
I'd rather eat a deer than hit one with my truck so I say shoot and kill all those mofos you can.

Anyone who hunts animals for "fun", should have an applicable punishment. They should be unleashed in a forest and have to run for their lives while people hunt them down with dogs and guns.

I'm not a hunter, cept a milf hunter, but that's another story for another time. Like everyone else I get the whole hunting for food aspect of it. I know a lot of hunters, this girl I'm seeing is a hunter and they eat what they kill. And here in the Midwest the deer population is out of control and so on. I use to have a boss that was a big hunter and they would set up those "feeding traps" to shoot deer and whatever. They'd eat the meat but also see who can have the most creative kill. I had to listen to a former supervisor marvel at the fact that he shot half a deers face off but it didn't die so he had to finish it off with a shovel. I wish I was making that up. Also my old boss when to a place where you can hunt a lion, of course you are up high and there is no way for the lion to escape or anything. I don't see any sport in that. It makes me sick.
I've been invited hunting and I won't go. I don't want to kill anything. I even feel bad when I step on some random ant or a bug hits the windshield. I'm not a vegan and never will be. I love steak, but I'm not the one whose going to be killing the cow to get it. My mom actually did that when she was a young girl in France. It's how they survived.

As long as it's for food, then I'll just leave it for someone else and know nothing about it. I would never do it personally for any reason, unless I was starving in the middle of nowhere with death approaching.

No problem with it if the animal is used properly.

This is pretty much how I feel exactly. I suppose I don't mind if the animal population is way too high and the animal is eaten but other than that I don't support it at all and certainly would never do it myself.

If you eat meat you shouldn't really have a problem with people who hunt and intend to use the meat/byproducts. I guarantee you that what they hunted in the wild and killed lived a better, more fulfilled life, than just about anything you picked up at the market or restaurant. If you don't eat meat, that's a different argument. I don't have a problem with hunters If they use the animal, but its also not something that I really feel the need to partake in.

I don't see a problem if you use the meat or are hunting due to overpopulation.

I eat meat, but I only get free range eggs, I've never eaten from KFC and never will, because they are very cruel to there chickens, it's horrible how popular they are. Hunting for sport? Anyone who does that, I hate, a lot. You don't see animals killing for no reason, do you? Not for a ing sport. Why kill something for your enjoyment ? Did that animal have a choice? Why is illegal to kill humans for no reason but not animals? It's like humans were put here by aliens, were so different, and we have ruined the world.

It's the Cayotes natural instinct to hunt and eat. Don't kill it, that's just horrible, would you like to be killed from doing your daily business? I think not. Just get an animal protection team or whatever it is to move it or something, don't kill it.
