Instead of Mattel making yet another early 90's Undertaker they should've taken the chance to finally make him in his WM14 attire because a 1998 Undertaker has basically been a dream figure for everyone and we haven't had an accurate one since the BCA days.
We already have the EG Taker, E23 Taker and SS heritage Taker so there was no need for another one from so early in his career. A WM14 Taker would've been an extremely marketable product and the Kane figure itself will fly off the shelves so we could've had a set were both figures sold well like WM30 Bret and Shawn instead of this Undertaker figure possibly warming shelves.

Personally, I'm happy with this. It's a great opportunity for those who didn't get the entrance greats. Also, that was a basic, and now we have an elite

Making one highly requested figure does not mean it took the spot of the other one. They will make it when they feel like it.
I still see Bret and HBK WMXXX figures on pegs.

I don't think it'll shelfwarm, but I do think it would be great to see a '98 Taker with molded entrance gear. Y'know they'd do a killer job on the outfit like the Elite 27 figure. Maybe if he's in next year's hall of fame, they could put him that series, or just make him some retailer's exclusive.

I really hope they throw the gray tie in there with him. It will look weird without it.

The Debut Elite Taker is a major want of mine. I have the EG version and converted it to Elite, but the new version is great. So many figures to pose him with: Hogan, Jake the Snake, Bret Hart, Razor, Warrior, Papa Shango, Perfect.... I can't wait. That entire series is a Home Run.

A real elite eg Taker in grey gloves has been a want from mine since they showed the EG. So I am happy with the Taker they are giving us. I don't need a WM14 Taker...because to me the definitive Undertaker is grey gloves. That is what I think when I picture Undertaker

I'm for sure getting the WM31 taker elite. but i would like a WM14 Taker also, would be perfect for my Attitude era collection.

I just hope they fix the eyes from the one shown at RSF. That is not a good look.

Nah this taker is great
We will get 98 and 00 ABA soon enough. But grey debut taker elite was top priority

I disagree with OP and agree with the others.

I do not own an elite undertaker and have never been a big taker fan. However, I am very very happy to make this debut taker part of my collection. It will be the only undertaker I will ever want. Complete disagree with the OP

The upcoming figure is not a debut Undertaker.

I really hope they throw the gray tie in there with him. It will look weird without it. Ugh I'd be so irritated if they made it without the grey tie. Then I'd have to hunt down an EG tie that would probably cost a pretty penny.

E23 is really the only one I need, but I'd rather get a 98 over the grey, too.

Any elite undertaker is a buy from me.
They addressed the WrestleMania 14 question and I feel we'll see it in a year or two.
Relax

Not a huge miss but I do prefer WM14 Taker and still waiting on it. I think debut Taker was perfect as a basic since he was a stiff wrestler at the time but I would be lying if I said I didn't get hyped seeing elite grey gloved Taker. I'll take any era of this guy and WM14, American Badass will be announced someday.
