A surprising lack of love for my favorite Christmas, and one of my all-time favorite overall, movies: A Christmas Story. Love it so much that I went to Cleveland in 2009 for the Christmas Story Convention. Toured the house where the external shots were filmed and met Randy, Scut Farkus, Grover Dill, Flick, and the two surly elves at the Renaissance Hotel. The old Higbees building is right there, but it's now a welcome center of sorts.
I also agree with the Home Alone contingent, though it didn't become one of my go-to films until recently.
For something a bit different: Lethal Weapon. It begins and ends with Christmas songs and the story takes place during the season.

Shane Black's a big fan of Christmas, thus the setting for Iron Man 3. If I recall, didn't he write Lethal Weapon? And honestly, I can't STAND A Christmas Story. I've never been able too, nor can I give any reasonable example why. Just rubs me the wrong way, for some reason.

My big one's are;
Batman Returns Die Hard Elf Jingle All The Way Nightmare Before Christmas Fight Club (no idea WHY, but this movie just screams Christmas to me)
This year I think I'll add Die Hard 2 for the first time (never watched it as part as a Christmas movie marathon) and add in Lethal Weapon too now. Not to forget Christmas Withe The Joker and other TV specials; like Friends' and That 70s Show.

Supernatural has a couple good Christmas eps, too...
And I'm sure Anvil can back me up, while it's a bit sad -- the Buffy ep involving Angel set at Christmas, is exceptional TV.

Would Mask of the Phantasm count? I forget, wasn't it set during winter/Christmas? I ALWAYS watch it at Christmas man. There are just heaps of movies I associate with Christmas that aren't set at Christmas yknow? OT Star Wars Raiders of the Lost Ark Ghostbusters Close Encounters Of The 3rd Kind Back To The Future etc etc that I ALWAYS watch @ Christmas.

I was checking out a list of top Christmas movies and Kiss Kiss Bang Bang and Brazil both stuck out as films I love but don't necessarily think Christmas right away, I think for obvious reasons. Kind of falls in line with the Die Hard theory.

"THROW ANOTHER BRICK KID, I DARE YA!!" "Harry?....harrrryyyy--yyyyy?" "How many fingers am I holding up, Marv?" "Uhhhhhh -- eight?" "..."
