NXT News of the Week (April 10 - April 17, 2014)
- In an update from last week, it appears that Paige and Alexander Rusev for the mean time will be taking double bookings on both the main WWE roster in addition to appearing on the NXT tapings. As for Emma, she hasn't been used on main roster television since her angle with Santino Marella facing Fandango and Summer Rae ended before WrestleMania XXX. Allegedly there are plans to bring up more names from the NXT roster in the next couple of months with some rumors pointing to the Ascension, Adrian Neville and Bo Dallas. However this is pure speculation at this time. (April 14, 2014)
- Prince Devitt has finally signed a contract with the WWE. Devitt is expected to report to Florida's WWE Performance Center in June after fulfilling all other commitments on the independent circuit and in New Japan Pro Wrestling before coming over. On a simiar note, we have no current update on the contractual state of KENTA, but we hope to report on it when we have any sort of update. (April 11, 2014)
- The injured member of the Legionnaires, Scott Dawson is scheduled to make his return to the ring. Dawson was sidelined late last year with a torn ACL but has been doing some lifting to regain strength in his leg and could be ready to make his return as soon as the next NXT taping (for those keeping score at home, next week on April 24). (April 16, 2014)
- In similar news to Paige and Alexander Rusev, it appears as though Emma will be working on the main roster in addition to NXT. She is still the NXT Women's Champion - although this isn't acknowledged on RAW or SmackDown. Of note, she isn't currently being used in main roster storylines. (April 8, 2014) |

WWE NXT Live Event: April 11, 2014 Tampa, FL - CDC Gymnasium
- Around 100 people in attendance, that was a pretty decent turnout despite the lack of several key recognizable names on this card. That said, this show was still a decent one. Enzo Amore, Colin Cassady and Bayley signed autographs before the show and Sami Zayn and Adrian Neville posed for photos at intermission.
| - Aiden English & Simon Gotch def. Kalisto & Travis Tyler in a fun opening contest. Travis Tyler is quite bigger than Kalisto, but that made for a fun tag team dynamic that got the Tampa crowd popping frequently. Simon Gotch debuted along with Aiden English and the Legionnaires last week on NXT, so their team made sense and they came out dressed alike as well. They were really crisp with their in-ring chemistry as well, and they ragdolled Kalisto around superbly. It's a shame that Sin Cara is working the main roster live event circuit instead right now. Gotch got the win with a fireman's carry followed up by English's swanton bomb for the win on Tyler in under ten minutes.
- Sasha Banks & Charlotte def. Alexa Bliss & Bayley in what I believe was Bayley's return from her injury a few weeks ago at the hands of Charlotte. Her theme music surprised Charlotte and Bayley went into hungry animal mode trying to get her hands on the daughter of Ric Flair. Alexa Bliss took the beating from the BFFs, who were masterful in their dominance over the babyface Divas. It went quite long too. It finally came down to Charlotte and Bayley, and Bayley went for the Hug-plex just for Sasha Banks to come in from behind with the Bankrupt before Charlotte nailed her with the Natural Selection for a good win. The BFFs tried to further the attack on Bayley after the match but Alexa Bliss got in the way sacrificing herself to a Natural Selection and Bankrupt of her own.
- Ricky Edwards def. Scott Dawson in a very pleasant surprise. Ricky Edwards is Eddie Edwards from the indies! He made his debut last month on the live event circuit I think. Quite a few people knew who he was and he got quite a good positive reaction. He was facing Scott Dawson, who I don't think has competed since last year. He looked a lot better than he had done, and probably will make his return soon. Dawson worked over Edwards, but Edwards made his comeback and scored the win with the Die Hard fisherman buster for three. Short, but it was fun to watch Edwards in NXT at last!
- Sami Zayn def. Leo Kruger in a solid back and forth match. Zayn worked over Kruger early on, and got probably the biggest pop of the night. Kruger worked over Zayn's leg methodically, and he did a good job of it as Sami did a good job of acting hurt. Sami Zayn soon made the comeback and fired back with a good sunset flip bomb for two. Kruger made a convincing job of almost putting Zayn away with the cut-off, but Sami once again made a comeback later on. A lot of Helluva Kick teases but Kruger blocked them on every attempt. It took a distraction from Baron Corbin to cost Kruger, as Zayn won with the Helluva Kick for the three.
| - Baron Corbin def. C.J. Parker in a surprising match. Parker came out and cut a promo running down Tampa and talked about the pollution in the city before once again going back to his pro-green persona. Baron Corbin eventually interrupted him and the two had the first match back from half-time. Parker got a surprising amount of offense in, but it may have exposed Corbin a bit with his lack of selling. Baron sent C.J. packing to ringside a few times, and Parker did a great job of firing up the crowd seated at ringside. The match continued with Parker almost getting Baron with the Palm Strike, but Baron came back from it. Leo Kruger tried to interfere to avenge his loss earlier, but Baron knocked him off the apron and put Parker away with his ever impressive End of Days flatliner. A good angle, but this match's length exposed Baron a bit. He's still very green in a lengthy match scenario.
- Solomon Crowe def. Tye Dillinger in another match that should be leading to Solomon's eventful debut. It's been shut down so many times now, that even the non-regular attenders to NXT in Tampa shows know who he is. Crowe looked good here, playing with the lighting with his iPad on his way down to the ring. Good back and forth, Tye Dillinger got in a lot more offense than I expected, but it it was a good effort. Dillinger has some character to him, that's for sure. Crowe eventually cut Dillinger out and made Dillinger tap out to the overshoulder single legged Boston crab. Crowe cut a promo after the match telling us to "keep the "eyes in the back of our heads wide open" because he's coming.
- The Ascension def. Oliver Grey & Danny Burch to retain the NXT Tag Team Championships in a pretty fun tag team match. Grey and Burch played their British backstreet fighter gimmicks once again here, and it worked really well with the crowd and it looked like they had a chance of winning this one - but it was very doubted that they would take the titles on a house show anyway. That said, they got in quite a lot of offense on Viktor and Konnor in a short time before the Ascension took over and worked over Burch. The Tampa crowd are still warming to their new gimmick, as Grey's hot tag fell flat but the Ascension were able to put Grey down with the Fall of Man to retain the titles.
- Tyler Breeze def. Colin Cassady in a falls count anywhere in a rematch from their NXT ArRIVAL bout two months back. Technically, this was the first time both have been in the same building since, due to Big Cass cutting vignettes with Enzo Amore away from Full Sail and all. Tyler and Enzo had a very funny exchange on the microphone before the bell reminding us of how Breeze hurt Amore when he was in the mobility scooter. Cassady and Breeze brawled around ringside and in the ring, duelling with steel chairs and a Singapore cane. Both men battled back and forth before Breeze surprisingly got the win with the Beauty Shot on Cass on the aisleway. Breeze walked away with the win to boos, as the fans were really behind Cassady and Amore tonight - although some seemed let down because they wanted tables. Enzo cut a promo with Cass in the ring after the match to pick the crowd up.
- Adrian Neville def. Alexander Rusev in one fine main event. Neville's first appearance since being assaulted by Corey Graves, although I'm sure that this win won't be acknowledged on television. Graves wasn't even in attendance tonight anyway. Rusev had Sylvester Lefort with him, and this allowed Rusev to get an opening a lot. Rusev probably had the biggest heat of the night, most presumably from the help he received debuting on the main roster this past week. Rusev worked over Neville despite Adrian's best attempts and with Lefort's distractions coming into effect. Neville eventually found an opening and tried to go for the Red Arrow, but that's when the Legionnaires came down to interfere, Simon Gotch and Aiden English. Kalisto and Sami Zayn then came out to make the save, prompting a six man brawl before it narrowed down to Neville hitting the Red Arrow on Rusev for the ferocious victory. Neville, Kalisto and Zayn celebrated and posed for us to close the show at around the 2 and a half hour mark.

Dan the Man
It's been a while. General thoughts
First off love the additional touches like the live events, the win loss records as you'll know from my TNA diary big fan of stats. Plus you give us the bios even the Mania week highlights. Part of me wants you to sack all that off and just keep pumping out shows but regardless great attention to detail.
Shows themselves have been fine. Bo's coming on as a strong champion. Zayn is leading the chasing pack but first has to see off Kidd who turned on Zayn last week. You telegraphed this a little with the backstage bit before hand.
Good call signing Eddie Edwards, Eddie to me has the potential to be a top star.
Like the little push your giving Kalisto also but the highlight of your TV currently is the Neville/Grave rivalry sometimes basic and obvious works well and you've done a great job here.
Overall taking in a few shows without replying I'll say that your shows are a nice read just missing a punch for the most part, not all weeks but the majority need a little spicing up I understand not every show can be hot and we all have quiet weeks but attention to detail and everything else this is spot on.

Through tears of pain and strain, I reply to another DTPNXT spectacular. I'm excited to see whether or not you pull the trigger on a Sami Zayn title run early or not. A huge victory for the luchadores over the Legionnaires, I'm a big fan of Sin Cara and Kalisto for sure. An obvious victory for Tyler Breeze, and I'm still eager to see where this rivalry with Dolph Ziggler goes. A win over Ziggler would do wonders for Breeze's NXT and WWE career. I see you went with Too Cool's return to challenge The Ascension, but alas they fall to the dominant Champions as expected. Breeze's outbreak just leads us closer to the eventual match between the two. A shame to see Zayn essentially screwed out of his title shot, whether intentional or not. But I do feel it could lead to a heel turn for Tyson Kidd and an angle with Zayn which leaves a slot open for the #1 Contendership. I'm wondering if you'll go with somebody completely fresh, and perhaps even crown a new Champion.

#RAW MONDAY NIGHT RAW - Monday 14th April 2014 - Birmingham, AL (#1090) LIVE on the USA Network!
PAIGE def. ALICIA FOX - After debuting last Monday night on RAW after WrestleMania XXX, the NXT Diva Paige continued to show her intentions to hold the Divas Championship as she took on Alicia Fox in a rematch from last Friday night on SmackDown. Fox tried to combat Paige with her signature offense early on, but Paige managed to come firing back with her intentions being to hit Fox with the Paige Turner to no prevail. Paige continued to go after Alicia and attempt the Paige Turner but eventually settled - ducking the Scissors Kick and applying the unique Scorpion Crosslock giving her the submission victory in 3:35. *
Paige celebrated her victory after the match, as the fans in Birmingham didn't really know who she was just yet, as the 'Anti-Diva' continued to show her intentions on becoming the next Divas Champion. AJ Lee and Tamina Snuka came out to the rampway to take a closer look at the next potential challenger to her title gold.
ALEXANDER RUSEV def. XAVIER WOODS - This was the RAW debut for the 'Bulgarian Brute', who came out marching to the ring. Rusev was scheduled for action against another NXT regular in Xavier Woods, but Woods was unable to stand a chance against the merciless Rusev. The announce team discussed Rusev targeting the Big Show, as Rusev quickly put Woods away with the Muay-Thai kick followed by the Accolade forcing Woods into submission in 0:52. n/a
The crowd booed Rusev as he refused to let go of the hold, the 'Bulgarian Brute' making a name for himself tonight. That is until the theme of the Big Show hit and out came the 'World's Largest Athlete' to come and confront Rusev in the ring. The two stood face to face, but Rusev backed down, choosing to leave the ring rather than fight the former WWE Champion.
#MainEvent WWE MAIN EVENT - Tuesday 15th April 2014 - Nashville, TN (#81) LIVE on the WWE Network!
TAMINA SNUKA def. AKSANA, LAYLA, EVA MARIE, EMMA, CAMERON, NAOMI, NIKKI BELLA, NATALYA, BRIE BELLA, ALICIA FOX & PAIGE IN A BATTLE ROYAL - The winner of this match would go on to challenge AJ Lee for the Divas Championship this upcoming Monday night on RAW, as twelve Divas filled the ring for this brawl to gain contention to AJ's title, as the champion sat on commentary lining up the competition and rooting for Tamina to win it all. Tamina actually dominated a section of this match, eliminating Aksana and both members of the Funkadactyls at a time. It came down to Alicia Fox, Paige and Tamina with Paige targeting Snuka as her and Fox took down Snuka with a double suplex. Tensions rose between Paige and Alicia however, which led to Tamina coming from behind and eliminating both Divas to pick up the win in 5:12. 1/4*
The crowd hated the decision, as AJ Lee then approached the ring to dance around Tamina Snuka who looked on dominantly. Paige looked on in a sate of anger over losing in this contenders' match, as AJ hugged Snuka in the ring - Tamina though simply looking at her supposed friend's Divas Championship.
THE BIG SHOW def. JACK SWAGGER - Jack Swagger has been in a rut ever since the demise of the Real Americans back at WrestleMania XXX, but this didn't stop Zeb Colter from managing the former World Heavyweight Champion into battle with the Big Show. Swagger was overpowered because of the size disadvantage, but Zeb slapped him to bring life into the 'Real American' as the fans rooted for the 'World's Largest Athlete'. Alexander Rusev appeared on the top of the stage and began waving the Russian flag of all flags to loud boos, which distacted the Big Show leading to Swagger getting some offense in on Show, trying to go after the ankle. Swagger really went to work on it, but Big Show managed to break up a Patriot Lock attempt into the Knockout Punch for the win in 7:23. **
The Big Show had won, as he arose to his feet but limped slightly from the work done to his ankle by Jack Swagger previously, as Show stared down the 'Bulgarian Brute', who continued to wave the Russian flag showing no fear towards the Big Show, as the announce team pondered why a Bulgarian was waving the Russian flag whilst Main Event went off the air.
#SmackDown FRIDAY NIGHT SMACKDOWN - Friday 18th April 2014 - Nashville, TN (#765) Taped: Tuesday 8th April 2014 - Broadcast on the SyFy Network
DARK MATCH: BO DALLAS def. EL LOCAL - In the dark match, NXT Heavyweight Champion Bo Dallas came out with his title gold and went one-on-one with the mysterious El Local, an NXT alumnus. Local hit some signature lucha-libre style maneuvers before Dallas cut him off and soon after put him down with the Bo-Dazzler for the victory.
ALEXANDER RUSEV def. R-TRUTH - After the 'Bulgarian Brute' assaulted Xavier Woods on Monday this past week on RAW, Woods' close friend R-Truth wanted to come to his aid in taking on Rusev in singles action tonight. Rusev again came out waving the Russian flag with the announcers confused again by the Bulgarian's display of anti-patriotism as Truth got in more offense than Woods from the bell - however Rusev quickly stopped his momentum dead and took R-Truth down, leading to the submission victory via Accolade in 1:57. n/a
Alexander Rusev refused to let go of the hold after the bell, when Xavier Woods came down to the ring to try and save R-Truth from the Accolade - just to get a swift Muay-Thai kick to the jaw. Rusev then applied the Accolade on Woods, when finally the theme of the Big Show played out. Show jogged to the ring, but by the time he hit the ring, the 'Bulgarian Brute' had bailed, and backed up the rampway confidently waving the Russian flag high as Show was starting to get angry about this.
PAIGE & EMMA def. DIVAS CHAMPION AJ LEE & TAMINA SNUKA - With AJ Lee four days away from getting set to defend the Divas Championship against Tamina Snuka on RAW this Monday, she teamed up with her friend/future opponent for action against two NXT Divas, Paige and Emma in tag team competition. Paige was last eliminated during the battle royal on Main Event to determine the number one contender, and she took out her anger on AJ Lee early on, even taking down Tamina at one point. Paige and Emma worked together as a team, before AJ started taking her own frustrations out on Tamina - and Snuka wisely decided to walk out on AJ! With AJ all alone, Paige swiftly put the champion away with the Paige Turner for the three in 4:10. *1/2
After the match, Paige started screaming that she wanted her title shot and the fans were starting to get behind the 'Anti-Diva'. Emma tried to calm her down and tried dancing, to which Paige shoved Emma down! Paige was the newest Diva on the block, and she was hungry for the Divas Championship.

Episode #216. I like the Sami Zayn interview but not sure on it opening the show. It seems like a bit of an odd way to straight by going straight to an interview like this. Fun opener. I still dig what you've done with the Legionnaires, it's just strange to see Aiden English as a member. I miss his singing gimmick. The unnamed Lucha Dragons winning rules though and I can see them as future NXT Tag Team Champions. Fits with the Kalisto/Rusev stuff I remember reading. Tyler Breeze over Travis Tyler is fine. I just cut him. I hope to see big things for Prince Pretty in 2014. Dolph Ziggler/Tyler Breeze is a feud I'd love to see. By the way, I dig this format with the time included. I was thinking about adding it. Summer Rae and panties in the same sentence makes me happy. I like the Divas stuff but can't see Paige sticking around NXT much longer. Corey Graves <3. Surprised to see Too Cool here and even more surprised at how competitive they were. When you wrote "Wait, there's Tyler" I just thought about his theme. "LOOK EVERYONE ITS TYLER!" Enzo and Cass are always fun. Great main event. Bo Dallas continues to excel as the chickens*** heel and I sense the good old Sami Zayn redemption storyline coming up. Or something along those lines. Tyson Kidd's involvement is intriguing for sure. Is he the face who did it by mistake? Could he be heel doing it on purpose? Will this lead to a heel turn? Really good episode. I'd also like to point out that I love the little additions for this diary. While the biographies are a bit long, I love the house show write ups and especially the fact that you let us know how NXT is doing on the main roster.

Episode #216. One hundred more shows and you should mention Stone Cold. I love the 'Tonight on NXT', might I add. I'm not sure about the sit-down interview opening the show. I don't think it's ever been done before, so I guess it's unique. I hope Zayn wins the title tonight. A fun little opener between The Legionnaires and the - soon to be known as if you keep the name - Lucha Dragons. I really like Kalisto so I'm glad he and Cara gained the victory. Being French, 'artiste' should not have a 'é' at the end of it, if it did it would be pronounced 'Artist-eh'. Just a little nitpick of mine. I'm going to guess the mustached man is Simon Gotch? If so, I think he'd be a good addition to The Legionnaires. Decent win for Tyler Breeze, who has a lot of potential. This Dolph Ziggler and Tyler Breeze feud has really piqued my interest, and it will give Breeze a good rub if he beats a former world champion. A good Paige promo, I'm interested in seeing how long you'll have her stay in NXT as well as compete on the main roster. I'm a huge Corey Graves fan, so I hope he gets a good push in your diary. I can't wait to hear from Neville on next week's show. Expected win for The Ascension. Seeing Too Cool was, no pun intended, cool. But I hope you create a lot more competition for Konnor and Viktor. NXT really lacks in tag team division, but you can change that. Ooohh. More development between Dolph and Tyler. Can't wait to see where this goes and how long this feud will last. SAWFT! I hope Big Cass and Enzo Amore become like Cottonelle tissue and go on a roll. I wouldn't mind them being the ones to dethrone The Ascension later on in the diary. A really interesting main event, protecting both Sami and Bo. I'm hoping this leads to a FACTual heel turn for Kidd. Overall, a really good episode of NXT.

| NXT PROFILE - Simon Gotch 210lbs - 6'1 - Hoboken, New Jersey Finisher - The Gentleman's Slam
Little is known about this mustached individual. Known by the alias 'Simon Gotch', he was trained by Harley Race and made his professional debut ten years ago. Since then he has worked his way across the United States, making a name for himself on the independent circuit and being known as 'the Gentleman Bruiser'. A strongman taken straight out of a Victorian era's carnival act, Simon Gotch has been known to be everything he says he is - an athlete, a bodybuilder, rugged, masculine and gentile full of respect for his opponents.
After grappling with the best of them including Daniel Bryan before he also made his way to the WWE, Simon Gotch was signed to a contract to train in the Performance Center in the summer of 2013. Here he worked extremely hard to get to the next level, although many have overshadowed in the past. That was then, and this is now - on the April 10th edition of NXT in 2014, Simon Gotch made his debut when he jumped luchadore Kalisto from behind after a match with the Legionnaires, and aligned with Sylvester Lefort, Alexander Rusev and Aiden English. It appears now that Gotch is the most recent in a series of clients to strike a deal with the crafty Frenchman Lefort.
Now a member of the NXT roster, Simon Gotch could be a menace towards the entire territory being in cohesion with the Legionnaires who have proven to have friends in high places, including current NXT Heavyweight Champion Bo Dallas. It is still early, and only time can tell where Gotch's future will take him as he begins his career here. |

Episode #216, I have missed a lot but I am going to go back and catch up on this diary seeing as its pinned at the top. DTP, you're known to have some pretty good diaries, let's dive into the show though. Good preview to give us some insight on whats in store for us on this episode. Sami Zayn opening up the show talking about his future match with Bo Dallas for the title tonight is realistic. I'm digging the layout and might have to incorporate some of it into mine if that's fine with you. Glad to see the underdogs of Sin Cara and Kalisto got the win over the much more momentum filled team. Very curious to find out who the man siding with Rusev, Lefort, and English is. Realism with the recap videos airing is nice and I like the detail of how long the segment lasted. Very nice touch. Tyler Breeze and Dolph Ziggler feud? Count me in. Glad to see Breeze pick up some more momentum with the win over Travis Tyler. Good promo after the match that makes me anxious for the match up between Dolph and Breeze. I don't get intrigued much by the divas but good promo by the 'Anti-Diva' calling out Emma and Summer Rae. Corey Graves turning on Adrian Neville because of being overshadowed is a good call for a feud and I'm glad you have Graves performing still. Also excited to see what Neville has to say to his former tag team partner. The Ascension's callout being answered by Too Cool is very cool and a very good choice. Gives The Ascension some momentum and heat while allowing the NXT crowd to enjoy Too Cool's return to action, even if it was for one match. Tyler Breeze attacking Dolph backstage and pouring hot coffee on him is a HUGE way to get some heat going for Breeze. Enzo Amore and Big Cass have a nice little segment here and I want them to be pushed automatically, my brother has even bought some of their merchandise so I'm all for them, lol. Sami and Tyson talking about Kidd coming out to help is good and gives me a feeling Zayn might win! Weird segment with JBL and Bo Dallas but I'll take it, lol. Let's hop into the main event. Lots of great details and wording in your matches which is a lot different then the direction that some people take but it is a fun read being able to visualize the whole match taking place. Kidd being caught helping Zayn is a good finish and was a good way to keep your title on Dallas and potentially start something between Kidd and Zayn. Very realistic ending and a nice little swerve I wasn't expecting. Very anxious to read your next write up of #217. You put a lot of effort into this by even doing little things such as profiles for the wrestlers, I enjoy it! You have a new frequent reader and some new replies coming your way for each write up. Keep up the good work, man!

#WWENXT WWE NXT - Thursday 17th April 2014 - Winter Park, FL (#217) Taped: Thursday 13th March 2014 - Broadcast on the WWE Network! "MARK YOUR WORDS BY YOUR ACTIONS"
Tonight on NXT:
- Last week, Bo Dallas yet again walked away with the NXT Heavyweight Championship in his possession after defeating Sami Zayn after interference from Tyson Kidd backfired, costing Kidd's ally the big win. Tonight with a very disappointed Sami Zayn and regretful Tyson Kidd in attendance, who knows what will go down.
- In addition to both Sami Zayn and Kidd being in attendance, the NXT Heavyweight Champion Bo Dallas will be in action one-on-one with the man also involved in last week's match, Tyson Kidd.
- It was revealed last week that after one month away from the Full Sail University due to injury, that Adrian Neville will be in attendance tonight to address the actions of his former tag team partner Corey Graves.
- In singles competition after weeks of determining whether to join the BFFs or remain friends with NXT Women's Champion Emma, Paige will go one-on-one with the leader of the BFFs, Summer Rae.
- Last week the Legionnaires found themselves a new addition to the faction, as a man later identified as Simon Gotch from the Performance Center made his debut attacking Kalisto on behalf of his allies. Tonight, we will hear from Gotch in addition to Sylvester Lefort, Aiden English and Alexander Rusev.
After the WWE signature aired, we cut to a video package reviewing the events of last week, where Sami Zayn came so close to winning the NXT Heavyweight Championship from reigning champion Bo Dallas - and all was going to plan until Dallas' mercenaries in the Legionnaires made an appearance in an attempt to put Zayn down. However Zayn was resilient, and kept fighting back - and came very close to picking up the win until the interference of his ally Tyson Kidd went wrong, and Kidd took out Zayn instead of Bo. Dallas walked away with the title intact yet again - whilst Kidd has to live with what he did, as well as a very upset friend.
The opening video package aired for NXT, showcasing the ensemble of stars in NXT today - among them being Bo Dallas, Sami Zayn, the Ascension, Emma, Corey Graves, Adrian Neville and Paige. We go to the NXT Arena in Winter Park, Florida's Full Sail University as Renee Young, Jason Albert and Tom Phillips welcomed us to the show, hyping up the upcoming hour of NXT television with so much going on in NXT right now. Meanwhile the theme of NXT General Manager John Bradshaw Layfield played, causing the broadcast team to ponder why he was here tonight.(00:03)
"Well here comes an unexpected arrival in the General Manager of NXT, JBL!" declared Tom Phillips as John Bradshaw Layfield came out onto the stage as always in a suit topped off with his ten-gallon cowboy hat. JBL had a microphone in hand as the NXT Universe chanted loudly "JBL! JBL! JBL!" Layfield grinned as he raised a hand to hush them as he began to speak. "Thankyou, you guys are always great. I don't want to waste too much time, because there is so much going on in NXT right now, and it's great. But with so much going on, I must confess that tonight will be the final show produced by myself". The crowd booed, as Layfield looked down. The fans began to chant "please don't go!" as Layfield tried to ease the fans' vocal thoughts, continuing "now it's nothing to do with me, but the thing is I've loved every moment here on NXT - but right now is the time for me to go. But it's not all frowns, because my replacement is going to do such a good, better job at being the GM than I am. So ladies and gentleman, please welcome on the new General Manager of NXT, my old buddy William Regal!"
The boos and chants then stopped as the theme of William Regal hit prompting a big ovation from the NXT Universe! Layfield headed for the back as Regal appeared on the rampway and saluted the fans in attendance. "What a way to kick off...a new GM!?" pondered Jason Albert aloud as Regal grinned because of the appreciation shown towards him. "It gives me a great pleasure to stand here and be welcomed in as the new General Manager. Because let me tell you, I've been here since day one of NXT opening its doors - and it is glorious. It's what I was born to do." The fans chanted his name, as William then made his first announcement. "And to kick off this Regal Regime, let me tell you what's coming up: mark your calendars. Because on May 28, we will take things to a new level: NXT's second live special exclusive to the WWE Network: it's gonna be NXT Unleashed!" The fans cheered loudly as Regal then wrapped things up, declaring "And let me tell you, it will be the single best edition of NXT yet. I guarantee it. For now though, I've got to get off because I have a LOT of work to do. On with the show!" The fans cheered, thanking Regal whilst Renee Young addressed on commentary "What a shocking start, off the bat! A new General Manager for NXT, and I couldn't have picked anybody better for the job". ( 00: 05)
ALEXANDER RUSEV, AIDEN ENGLISH & SIMON GOTCH def. CAL BISHOP, SAWYER FULTON & DASH WILDER - After the debut of Simon Gotch last week, quickly joining forces with Alexander Rusev, Aiden English and Sylvester Lefort's Legionnaires, this was his first appearance on NXT and this was a one-sided domination of their opponents - Simon Gotch's former colleagues from the Performance Center. Gotch, dressed in a black singlet immediately went to work on Dash Wilder to boos, as he mat-wrestled with Wilder before aggressively stomping away and pounding away at Wilder. Gotch utilized several old-school moves, namely the back drop driver and a fireman's carry before tagging in Aiden - who continued the offense by further pounding away at Wilder. English and Gotch teamed up to sustain further damage as they connected with several innovative double teams including a rolling fireman's carry from Gotch into English's kick to the chest of Wilder, as the 'Artiste' further controlled Wilder. Dash soon managed to slip out and nail English with some brief dominance - but as Wilder tagged in Cal Bishop, Alexander Rusev got the tag for the Legionnaires - and the two bigger men in this match squared off: but not before Rusev gained the advantage. Lefort watched on from ringside like a hawk observing his Legionnaires with a grin on his face, as Rusev quickly picked apart Bishop and locked in the Accolade whilst Gotch and English took out Sawyer Fulton and Dash Wilder, giving the Legionnaires the easy win in 4:15. n/a
The crowd booed as Sylvester Lefort joined his men in the ring, stood in front of the trio as Alexander Rusev, Simon Gotch and Aiden English presented themselves perfectly as the Legionnaires. "An impressive debut for Simon Gotch tonight, but also yet another demonstration of how destructive these guys really are" mentioned Jason Albert, as the three stood tall. Meanwhile, Sin Cara and Kalisto were shown backstage watching on from a monitor at their recent rivals. (00:11)
We went to the backstage area, where Sami Zayn was shown arriving at Full Sail University, walking through the front door. Zayn was met by a nearby Devin Taylor, as Taylor approached Sami with a microphone. "Sami, after the events of last week, what is going--" she tried to ask as an impartial journalist, but Sami seemed ticked off enough, as he politely told Devin "not now. I'm going to find Tyson", he simply said as he continued to power walk through the building en route to the backstage area.
An advertisement aired, promoting WWE Extreme Rules, live on pay-per-view on Sunday, May 4. ( 00: 12)
We returned to NXT as Sami Zayn entered the locker room and immediately saw Tyson Kidd - who had his headphones in in preparation for his match with Bo Dallas tonight. Tyson saw Sami and quickly hesitated back against a wall, as Sami chased him and grabbed him by the collar of his shirt. "Sami! Sami wait!" Tyson pleaded, as Sami gritted his teeth near Tyson's face. "Why did you have to get involved last week?" he asked. He asked again before Kidd confessed to Sami. "Sami, I felt like I had to! You had taken a beating from four men last week. It was four on one! What did you want me to do, ignore it existing and let my friend lose!?" he asked loudly with his hands holding back Sami, at least trying.
"Sami you were on your way to defeat, fact. I was only trying to help!" he declared one more time, as Sami looked down, then let go of his grip. "I've got to get ready for my match with Bo tonight now. And after what he did to you last week, I'm going to make up for that. Fact." Kidd declared adamantly despite his losing streak. Sami nodded without looking at Kidd before walking away. (00:13)
PAIGE def. SUMMER RAE - This was the first match that the 'Anti-Diva' had had since debuting on NXT since debuting on Monday Night RAW the night after WrestleMania XXX, and she was gunning for revenge in this rematch with Summer Rae from last month, where Paige was unsuccessful in a number one contender's match with the leader of the BFFs - at the same time, it was about revenge for Summer, who felt that despite the generous offer to let her long-time rival into the BFFs, the 'Anti-Diva' had crossed them, and was gunning to get the win here tonight. Summer got right into it with Paige, using her long legs to choke Paige in the corner, but Paige had the fans on her side despite being without an alliance, as the 'Anti-Diva' nailed Summer with several right hands, followed by a spinebuster reversed into a tornado DDT. Paige continued to work over Summer as Sasha Banks and Charlotte then came down to ringside - and despite them not getting involved, Paige still dove through the ropes nailing them with a dive! Paige was on a roll, but that proved to be her downfall as Summer capitalized on the distraction - then going after her arm and working away at it. Summer continued as she slapped her adversary around, but Paige was resilient and kept attempting a comeback. Paige managed this, as she ducked Summer's spinning roundhouse kick and nailed her with the Paige Turner before knocking Charlotte and Sasha off of the apron with a dropkick! Paige followed up with the Scorpion Crosslock on Summer, causing her to tap out in 5:54! **1/4
The NXT Arena cheered loudly for Paige as the bell sounded, but the 'Anti-Diva' wasn't releasing the Scorpion Crosslock as Summer Rae rived in pain elevated in the hold! "The 'Anti-Diva' has proven that she doesn't need an ally to help her out with the BFFs, and it's clear that she wants one thing, and that's to regain the NXT Women's Championship!" commented Tom Phillips as Renee Young added, "She's a woman on a mission, that's for sure". But then the numbers game kicked in, as Summer was rescued by Charlotte and Sasha Banks! Charlotte and Sasha stomped away at Paige to boos, Summer rolling out of the ring meanwhile. Sasha nailed Paige with the Bankrupt before Charlotte finished the former NXT Women's Champion off with the Natural Selection as the NXT Universe booed the united BFFs loudly. "You've got to wonder though, is Paige's motive a good idea? I mean, where is Emma?" asked Jason Albert, as Paige was down and motionless on the canvas. (00:23)
The broadcast team reset as they talked about last week when Tyler Breeze attacked his recent rival Dolph Ziggler in the backstage area, dramatically dropping coffee on the face of the 'Show Off', and for sure igniting a hot flame - literally - in the brain of Ziggler. A replay of it aired, as Ziggler was shown being attended to after the incident. In a WWE.com Exclusive, NXT cameras caught up with Tyler Breeze after the incident took place. "You know, I don't lose myself too often. Because that's weakness, and weakness makes for losers. But me, I'm the hottest, I'm the most beautiful, and I am a winner. And Dolph Ziggler can claim that he's hotter than me all he likes, but he's no Tyler Breeze. He's hot tonight because of the hot coffee I tipped on his stupid face - but I, I hold no regret. Ziggler's in my town, and stealing MY show. Breezeland is open for one person and one person only - me, Tyler Breeze" he commented, as he lavished in the reflection of his iPhone. Meanwhile, Renee Young inserted, "With Tyler's actions last week, he's got a lot to be held accountable for, but meanwhile next week Dolph Ziggler will be in attendance to confront Tyler Breeze in this very ring".
(00:24)
- NEXT WEEK: After igniting a feud between the two two weeks ago on NXT, Tyler Breeze will have to be prepared when Dolph Ziggler returns to the Full Sail University to confront 'Prince Pretty', the 'Show Off' surely with a lot on his mind after having coffee spilled on his face by the vainest superstar walking NXT today.
In the backstage area, Devin Taylor was stood by now with the NXT Women's Champion Emma, as Devin asked her "Emma, we've seen your friendship with Paige decline in the past few months - is it safe to say that you are completely disconnected from the 'Anti-Diva' now?". Emma took her time to think about that question, as the NXT Women's Championship hung over his shoulder. "You know, that's an interesting thing to say, because truthfully, I don't quite know. I've been watching, and I've lost a lot of respect for Paige. But I know how serious she is when she says she doesn't want any help. She's not chosen a side - but I have what she wants. And I'm expecting her. We've had so many awesome clashes. But I'm happy to watch from afar for the time being. When the time comes, I'll see her out in that ring with the title on the line" ,she commented before walking away. ( 00: 25)
THE MANCHESTER RUFFIANS def. BUDDY MURPHY & WESLEY BLAKE - This was the debut of NXT's newest tag team, as former NXT Tag Team Champion Oliver Grey resurfaced after time away due to injuries, along with a new friend from the Performance Center in Danny Burch. The two came out to a metal, remixed version of the British national anthem dressed in leather pants and jackets as they made their way down to the ring for competition in their first match tonight on NXT. The two went up against Buddy Murphy and Wesley Blake, two other young upstarts down at the Performance Center - but they couldn't match Grey and Burch's offense. Burch showed a smashmouth style, pounding away at Blake on the ropes as well as in double-team moves with the assistance of Grey, actually igniting boos from the NXT crowd. Jason Albert noted Grey's change of personality, calling it "a reinvention of everything Grey never used to be", going on to describe the Ruffians as spanning from their days on the British independent circuit - two ruffians that used to hang out in the alleys of Greater Manchester who loved to fight and bruise people. Grey put Blake away with a powerbomb over the knee of Burch picking up the win in an impressive fashion in 3:24. n/a
The NXT Arena booed slightly, as Danny Burch and Oliver Grey stood tall in the ring among them, further called 'the Manchester Ruffians'. The two then began to stomp away on Wesley Blake some more, before picking up Buddy Murphy and taking him down with a double gutbuster to more boos. "Just when you think you know someone...Oliver Grey has changed, and he's brought an old friend with him...is this what was hiding inside of Grey for so long?" pondered Renee Young, as Jason Albert responded, "I think Oliver Grey has always had this fire inside of him...but he's waited until the right time, tonight, to show it once and for all. Impressive debut for Danny Burch tonight as well".(00:31)
In the empty office of the new General Manager of NXT, William Regal was already hard at work writing...on the floor. "Can't believe JBL even took his desk with him. Bloody hell" he commented as he heard a knock on the door, and slowly stumbled to his feet. Regal answered as in walked the three members of the BFFs. "What can I do for you ladies?" he asked, as Summer Rae led Sasha Banks and Charlotte inside. She took a quick look around and asked, "You really need to refurbish, don't you". Regal quickly responded, "Refurnish, I think I need to redo the whole room". Summer then cut him off, as Charlotte chimed in. "We want to dominate the Divas division here in NXT. We are the elite, we are the supreme, and Paige needs to get out of our way" the second-generation Diva addressed. Sasha added, stating that "to dominate NXT, we need the NXT Women's Championship too. So help us out". Summer added that "Emma is a laughing stock of a champion anyway".
Stumped, the new General Manager thought about it whilst quickly responding to Summer, "Well you can say that but she's beaten you before, let's face it". Regal's face then lit up as he announced "But fine, how about this: next week here on NXT, we're going to have a fatal four-way match to determine who goes on to face Emma for the Divas Championship at NXT Unleashed. How about that eh?" he asked, as all three Divas nodded their head with malicious smiles on their face, knowing that their plan was working. "Who's the fourth? Bayley?" laughed the obnoxious Charlotte, as Regal shook his head. "No, the same girl that can stick up for herself without having her withering buffoon friends around - Paige". Regal then excused himself, "Now if you would excuse me ladies, I need to go and get myself a chair and a table" as he quickly left the room. The three BFFs were left inside, all looking at each other. "So who's scoring the win?" innocently asked Sasha before the trio started squabbling.
(00:33)
- NEXT WEEK: It's time to see who the next number one contender to Emma's NXT Women's Championship will be, as Summer Rae, Paige, Sasha Banks and Charlotte will go at it in a fatal four-way match to determine who challenges for Emma's title at NXT Unleashed next month.
We returned to NXT as the theme of the undefeated 'Enigma' Baron Corbin played to a loud ovation from the Full Sail crowd. Baron appeared popping out of the dark on the stage, Baron ready for action tonight - when suddenly he was jumped from behind by Leo Kruger! The NXT Universe booed as the lights remained out except for a spotlight hovering over them, as Kruger dropped Baron on the rampway with a big spinebuster! "Leo Kruger, he's obsessed with putting an end to the undefeated streak of Baron Corbin!" exclaimed Jason Albert, as Renee Young added "Kruger wants to make himself known for being a streak snapper, and you have to believe he's serious at this point". Kruger sniveled as he stood on the rampway, taking a microphone from nearby which he brought with him. "I have seen you coming, Baron. Your eyes tell me a lot more than that you're fearless. You're afraid, aren't you!" he laughed hysterically. "But know this, you're afraid of losing your beloved streak. But you don't know that I am the snapper of streaks, and I am NXT's worst envision. Baron Corbin, this ends between you and I...next week. And so will your fearless hologram. I will end it, and everybody will know my name as the 'Master of Dark'." he groaned before dropping the mic, picking up Baron and dropping the 'Enigma' with the Kruger's End! Kruger laughed over the body of Baron as the announce team processed what had just taken place.
- NEXT WEEK: After meddling with Baron Corbin week after week, it all comes to ahead as the 'Master of Dark' who snapped the undefeated streak of Mojo Rawley two weeks ago, Leo Kruger the bounty hunter - aims to add another streak snap to his collection when he battles the undefeated 'Enigma' Baron Corbin in a clash of the titans!
The NXT Heavyweight Champion Bo Dallas was then shown walking down a corridor moments away from his non-title match with Tyson Kidd. "Well a lot seems to be ready for next week on NXT, but up next we are scheduled for--" announced Tom Phillips, when suddenly he was interrupted after Dallas was stopped by Sami Zayn. The two stared each other down, as Bo started: "I don't need to prove myself again." Sami instead pointed a finger at him, stating "I will get my rematch, and you will go down, Bo". Zayn then walked away whilst Dallas was left stood there, then once again starting to make his way for action up next. (00:34)
NON-TITLE MATCH BO DALLAS (c) vs TYSON KIDD One week after retaining the NXT Heavyweight Championship in a huge battle with Sami Zayn, Bo Dallas was here tonight facing the man that inadvertently cost Sami the match, Tyson Kidd. Kidd had attempted to come off the top rope with a diving overhead neckbreaker on Dallas, but the wise, sly champion shoved Sami in the way and Bo ended up scoring the victory instead. Tyson Kidd made his way out to the ring first with a serious look of determination on his face, Kidd wearing headphones en route to the ring to add to this. "Tyson Kidd hasn't been able to win a match since November of last year. It's April now, and it could be time for a win to finally appear for the focused Calgary native" noted Jason Albert, as Kidd paced the ring in anticipation for the arrival of the egotistical Bo Dallas.
With that, his theme hit, and out came the NXT Heavyweight Champion with his new theme song and his arms extended, as Bo Dallas welcomed himself graciously to the NXT Arena. "329 days your champion!" he shouted obnoxiously, as he walked down to the ring with a big smile on his face, completely contrasting the focused and motivated opponent Tyson Kidd in this match. Dallas got inside of the ring and smiled again at Tyson as he held the NXT title gold high to mock Tyson, as Dallas then was audibly heard telling Tyson to "Just Bo-lieve you can do it, Tyson!"
The bell sounded, as Bo and Tyson squared off circling the ring preparing to lock up - until Dallas instead decided last second to roll outside of the ring and taunt for the adoring - or spiteful NXT Universe. Tyson looked agitated now, and he responded by diving over the top rope onto Dallas with a plancha! "Tyson Kidd, in the mood for no games tonight" mentioned Renee Young, plying back to the losing streak of Kidd's whilst Tyson picked Bo back up and rolled him back inside the ring, covering for a near fall. Kidd attempted to go for an Oklahoma roll on Bo for two, before a Magistral roll-up got a near fall as well; Bo managing to find breathing space to knee Kidd in the abdomen before picking him up for a scoop slam followed up with a fist drop - which missed! Kidd got back to his feet and nailed Bo with a front dropkick into the face of a seated Bo, covering for two. "Tyson is showing a different fire than he has in the past, and it's becoming clear right here tonight" spoke Tom Phillips. Kidd followed up as he connected with a Bret Hart-inspired backbreaker before springboarding off the second rope, connecting with a moonsault for a near fall yet again, as Bo attempted to roll out to the apron to escape Kidd and bide some time. Kidd however caught up to Dallas and attempted to suplex Bo back inside the ring, but Bo reversed, suplexing Kidd face first on the canvas!
"And just like that, the tables have turned" commented Renee Young as Bo casually climbed back into the ring, delivering a knee to the face of Tyson before kicking him roughly in the back as Kidd was now dazed. "Bo is just demoralizing Kidd now" noted Jason Albert, as Kidd tried to fight back with a single leg takedown, but Bo was too fresh and followed up with a second knee to the face. Dallas followed up, the NXT Heavyweight Champion connecting with his own patented belly-to-back suplex, covering but Kidd managed to kick out at two. "But if you know what this Canadian is capable off, he's got this business in his blood. An eighteen year veteran - and he's only 33 years of age! He's got ten years on Bo, and a lot of momentum on his side to add to that" analyzed Tom, as Bo wrenched on a sleeper on Tyson on the mat, refusing to let go as the NXT Universe booed and slowly began to start rooting for the underdog, the former WWE Tag Team Champion. "And this NXT Universe have been here every step of the way for Tyson Kidd, all the way through this slump. They've watched his frustration go on as weeks went by, and they are thriving for Tyson to finally get a win under his belt!" pleaded Renee as Dallas tried to keep Tyson grounded, just for Kidd to sit up and start to get something going - when Dallas unceremoniously attempted to turn things into a chickenwing crossface - but Tyson switched the hold around into a hammerlock, then rolling Bo up for two again: and when Dallas attempted to go for a headlock takeover, Tyson turned it into a headscissors until Bo broke free, as both men darted to their feet just for Bo to fall victim to the swinging fisherman suplex - Tyson covering with the leg hooked just for two again!
"And things have changed again, swaying this time in favor for Tyson!" mentioned Tom, as Tyson slowly got to his feet and attempted to apply the Sharpshooter on Bo - but Dallas tried to punch is way out of it: Tyson suddenly attempting the Dungeon Lock to loud cheers from the NXT Arena - but Dallas wisely wrapped himself up in the ropes. "I don't think Bo was expecting this much of a battle" noted Renee, as Dallas waited for Tyson to break the hold and give him some breathing space - when Bo quick like a cat darted to his feet and charged Kidd; Kidd sidestepping and going for a rolling clutch roll-up attempt, but Dallas reversed into a roll-up of their own - and again for Tyson, who then turned it around and attempted the Dungeon Lock again...but Dallas nailed Kidd with a big right hand to the eye! "And Dallas once again takes a shortcut!" yelled Albert, as Kidd covered his eye, allowing time for the NXT Heavyweight Champion to hook the arms, connecting with the Bo-Dazzler for the three count in 8:23!
WINNER: NXT HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION BO DALLAS (**1/2)
The crowd booed as the NXT Heavyweight Champion's hand was raised in victory by referee Drake Wuertz. Bo Dallas got up to his feet and soaked in all of the boos, thanking the fans for his admiration with a courteous bow. Tyson Kidd meanwhile remained down and held his eye which had been knocked by Bo in the closing moments of this match. Dallas began to leave, as he held the NXT title in his possession - suddenly however Sami Zayn appeared on the rampway! Zayn stared Dallas down again, as he could be audibly heard saying "I'm not done with you, or your title". Dallas continued walking as Zayn walked down to ringside to attend to Tyson, who shoved Sami away as Kidd was now leaving the ringside area. Kidd continued to cover his eye, as Sami looked discontent with what had happened with Tyson suffering another loss. "You can't help but feel for Tyson Kidd" noted Renee. ( 00: 46)
An advertisement aired, reviewing the events of WrestleMania XXX and Axxess weekend. The end message came when text appeared on the screen, thanking the WWE Universe for the support. (00:47)
We returned to NXT as the theme of Corey Graves began to play to loud boos from the NXT Universe. The 'Savior of Misbehavior' then made his way down to the ring among them, dressed in double denim seemingly looking for a fight. "And this is what we've been waiting for a month to see: the return of Adrian Neville" noted Tom Phillips as Graves wasn't wasting any time in pacing down to the ring and snatching a microphone away from ring announcer Eden Stiles. "What a sickening man Corey Graves has turned out to be" added Renee, as Corey tried to hush the NXT Universe. After this failed to work, he finally shouted out "Shut up!" to loud boos! "Now I've been informed that Adrian Neville is due to be here, because naturally he's everybody's hero - whereas I'm the one that has been here every single week kicking ass and taking no names!" The crowd booed and chanted for Neville, to which Corey raised an eyebrow, then added: "Oh that's right. I did take him out...I guess I don't have a leg to stand on. But then again, neither does he. However I've expressed this before time and time for you peeons, he is a waste of space and he stood in my way! So you know what I did? I took him out: but here he comes again. He won't die, will he?" Graves pondered to nobody in particular, pacing up and down like a paranoid madman. Finally he approached the entrance way and rested on the top rope, telling Adrian more directly, "Neville, mark your words by your actions and stay away from this ring or I will break your leg for good this time!"
The crowd booed Corey Graves as the 'Savior of Misbehavior' stood resting on the top rope, when after a few moments the theme of the 'Man That Gravity Forgot' finally hit, prompting the first appearance of the 'Jumping Geordie' in a month! "He's here, and he looks good!" exerted Tom Phillips as Neville walked out onto the rampway in a new T-shirt and jeans, as Adrian made his way down to the ring to confront Graves face to face - visibly without a limp to be seen! Neville climbed into the ring and came nose to nose with Graves immediately, as Corey didn't really believe that Adrian was out here and absolutely fine. "You called?" Neville asked to laughs, as Corey responded ferociously, whilst backing away from him. "Yeah I did. I wanted you to come out here and get your shtick over and done with. The fact is, Neville, you're always stealing the spotlight. It's all about you. NXT? This may as well have been named the Adrian Neville Show when you made me carry your bags when we were NXT Tag Team Champions" he started, but that's when Adrian snatched the microphone away from Corey and began to talk for himself. "Do I sense some jealousy here, Corey? Because last time I checked, I was the one that was actually trying my best to keep those NXT Tag titles. But you...oh no, you always wanted more. But you see, unlike you, I was happy with whatever I was doing. Because I could always show people how great a tag team we were. And look what happened - you threw that away. And then you tried to cut me down and take me out? Well done. But I'm back now, so your plan failed miserably, didn't it?" responded Adrian, when suddenly Corey snatched the microphone back!
"Oh, so you're trying to turn this back on me now, huh? How cute. Let's not forget why you wanted my help in the first place - you needed a tag team partner to help you win back those titles. Greed, isn't it? I should have never let you convince me to take up the offer. Because those seven months...they sucked. And you suck, and I think you oughta kn--" spoke Corey until he was cut off by Neville again, who snatched the microphone back! "The bottom line is this, Corey. I cherished those titles, and you threw it all away. It made these people get behind you! We were big stars! And you threw it away. You need to think about this, old friend: what comes swinging my way you better believe will come boomeranging back your way. And it will, because you tried to jeopardize my career out of jealousy and greed and spite--" Suddenly, Corey Graves once again stole the microphone back, and then in turn Adrian Neville stole the microphone back from Graves! And with that, fists started flying as the NXT Universe watched the two former NXT Tag Team Champions go at it!
"After so long, these two are finally going at it!" exclaimed Renee Young, as Corey and Adrian traded blows before Graves whipped Neville into the ropes, attempting to chop block the bad leg of Neville - but Adrian flipped over Corey, connecting with a big enzuigiri to the back of the 'Savior of Misbehavior's skull! Graves tried to refocus in the corner, but Neville darted at him and dropped him with a running dropkick - Neville then going up to the top rope and posing for the NXT Universe, attempting the Red Arrow - but Corey rolled away! Neville was left stood in the ring whilst Graves evacuated the NXT Arena to loud boos, as Neville wanted some more of his former tag team partner. "Not today", Graves simply said, as he caught his breath, holding his lip. Neville was steaming, wanting more of him, as Jason Albert wrapped things up, "Adrian Neville is back in NXT, but he wants Corey Graves - and Graves will have hell to pay for every single second of this encounter!" NXT proceeded to go off the air. (00:54)

Sounds like a pretty stacked show judging by the tonight on NXT bulletpoints at the start of the show. Fine way to kick things off with William Regal being JBL's replacement as GM of NXT. I liked Regal announcing the next 2-hour special. May 28, 2014 was a Wednesday, though. I'm assuming you meant May 29, unless you're having the special a day prior to the weekly NXT show? Looking forward to that one either way! The 6-man squash is what it was. It done its job fine in getting over The Legionnaires whilst also introducing Gotch to the NXT Universe. The Legionnaires/Lucha Dragons feud has potential. However, I wonder if you'll throw someone else into the mix to even the feud out as 3 on 3 or if Rusev's recent debut on the main roster will lead to him slowly being phased out of NXT programming and leaving Gotch/English to feud with Sin Cara and Kalisto. Having a 6-man tag match here is making me think Rusev will be staying around for the feud with the Lucha Dragons. The slow build to a full-blown feud between Zayn/Kidd is great. Looking forward to seeing that play out over the next couple of weeks. Fine win for Paige although I feel Sasha or Charlotte should have been the ones to take a loss here and not Summer, the leader of the trio. A Tyler Breeze and Dolph Ziggler feud is genius. Small note, you've noted that Emma has the Women's Tite hanging over his shoulder. Danny Burch and Oliver Grey as a team is fantastic. Love the gimmick you've given them. Is this the beginning of the end for the BFF's? Still so stoked to see the Leo Kruger character around. Adam Rose is fun but Kruger is miles better. A feud with Baron Corbin is perfect for Kruger. I can see Kruger being the one to end Corbin's undefeated streak. Maybe not in his first attempt but I can definitely see it happening down the line. Not surprised to see Bo go over Kidd in the non-title match. I liked Kidd shoving Sami away post-match. Great way to close the show with Neville's return to NXT after a month away. It was written well and the actual segment was executed really well. I loved having Neville going up top for the Red Arrow only for Graves to bail. Good stuff overall, like always. I'm looking forward to seeing the card for Unleashed shaping up over the next 5 weeks.

Here we go with NXT and John Bradshaw Layfield is stepping down as General Manager, Maggle! The people loved him, damn it! THIS IS A TRAVESTY! THIS IS SICKENING! Well, William Regal is taking his spot so it's all cool beans, I suppose. NXT Unleashed? Cool. I expect a strong card, damn it. Rusev, English and Mustache Gotch win the opening six man tag, rightfully. Seems weird to have Rusev still going this long in NXT. The Lucha Dragons are watching, I wonder if they'll pull in a third guy to take on those three? Maybe? Maybe not? Maybe Rusev leaves? I dunno. We'll see. Sami is pissed, he is going to find Tyson. Sami and Tyson with a nice backstage segment and I like Kidd saying 'fact' despite being a nervous nut. Don't trust him, Sami. Fact. He's a scumbag. Fact. Paige defeats Summer Rae. Fact. The women's division in NXT is all clustered up. Fact. Well, I know what is going on but we have a lot of women in the mix of everything! A Tyler Breeze interview... oh, great. I love Tyler Breeze sooo much, as you know. I like his feud with Dolph though, as it is similar vs similar. The Manchester Ruffians, Oliver Grey and Danny Burch. Eh, you'll have to sell me on these guys. Better than Blake and Murphy and their crappy dubstep theme song, though! Grey does have credentials with the tag division, though, so I can sort of get behind it. Hahaha, JBL took the desk out back. What a d-bag! A fatal four way at Unleashed? That'll certainly be interesting. Charlotte, Sasha, Summer and Paige will be cool to see. The BFFs seem to be at a crossroads, though. Someboy is gonna turn, Maggle! Oh right, JBL is gone. Sad face. The feud between Baron Corbin and Leo Kruger continues to build, but I hope Corbin wins in their eventual match up because he has more upside at this point, even though I don't like either one that much. Bo Dallas manages to defeat Tyson Kidd and the shiztrain for Kidd continues. Zayn still wants the belt and I think they'll probably face at Unleashed where we might finally see Dallas lose the belt. Maybe Kidd will cost Zayn another title match? Y'know, cuz he can't do anything right. Finally, we get a very good promo to end the show with Corey Graves and the returning Adrian Neville. These guys will go at it at Unleashed, that's for sure, even if not official yet. That shiz is personal. Another good show here in your world of NXT, Danno.

NXT time! JBL stepping down? And William Regal taking his place? Awesome. Regal is fantastic in the authority figure role. NXT: Unleashed. Interesting name, I can dig it. An easy win for The Legionnaries, I really like what you've done with them. They are an interesting team. A nice little segment between Sami Zayn and Tyson Kidd. Fact! I sense a slow burn heel turn from the Catmaster. Decent win for Paige against Summer Rae, and good aftermath building up to an inevitable Paige and Emma showdown. I really like this Tyler Breeze and Dolph Ziggler program. Both of them can go in the ring, I can't wait to read their blowoff match. The Manchester Ruffians? I like this team already. A good win for them, I hope you can use both of them to their full potential. Interesting fatal four way match next week, personally I hope Summer Rae or Sasha Banks wins. Charlotte isn't ready just yet and Paige should be onto the main roster by now. The Leo Kruger and Baron Corbin feud is interesting, Baron is a favorite of mine so I hope you do big things with him in the future. Decent win for Bo, who has really come a long way in your diary. He's a good heel, and you book him as such. A really well written final segment between Adrian Neville and Corey Graves to end the show. The program between these two is interesting and well developed. I hope we see a Graves title reign in the near future, he had a lot of talent before being forced to retire. Overall, another good edition of NXT.

| NXT PROFILE - Danny Burch 213lbs - 6'0 - Manchester, England Finisher - The Ruffian Crunch
Hailing from the back streets of Manchester, Danny Burch has been a tough fighter for most of his life. Together, he alongside tag partner Oliver Grey have always been out causing incidents to take place - and soon enough, Burch became interested in pursuing a career in the sports entertainment business - making his pro debut in 2002. He worked with many of the United Kingdom's top independent promotions, becoming a prize fighter and becoming a British Heavyweight Champion on numerous occasions. On top of this, he also worked in Europe, particularly Germany before deciding that he wanted to take things to the next level.
This came in 2011 when he was signed to a contract with Florida Championship Wrestling, though it closed and became NXT by the time Burch had crossed the pond in 2012. Burch has had a lot of hard times in the NXT ring, usually falling as a recipient of beatings from the likes of Bray Wyatt, Bo Dallas, C.J. Parker and Baron Corbin. However it was this encounter with Baron that really opened the NXT Universe's eyes - as Burch berated Corbin, he showed his former street hooligan persona for all to see: and within weeks, he made a re-debut under a totally different appearance.
On April 17, 2014 Danny Burch teamed with his old hangout partner Oliver Grey, and the two formed the 'Manchester Ruffians'. Both true to their former selves, who used to roam the streets looking for fights with other citizens and other gangs, the two rough-housed Buddy Murphy and Wesley Blake - dressed in black leather to show everybody their unity. Whilst Grey is a former NXT Tag Team Champion, Burch could be elevated to a similar status in the future, as only time will tell where Burch's future will land him. Together Burch and Grey are mean, energetic and definitely vicious. The Ruffians reunited could be a very bad thing for the NXT Universe. |

| NXT PROFILE - Oliver Grey 225lbs - 6'2 - Manchester, England Finisher - The Ruffian Crunch
Oliver Grey is a grappler, a flyer, and a brawler. A student of the business, Oliver had an eventful upbringing by being a part of backstreet gangs fighting in Greater Manchester during his teenage years - alongside his tag partner Danny Burch. The two enjoyed taking pleasure in rough-housing other citizens and gangs, utilizing their hooligan antics to a full capacity. It wouldn't be long before the troublesome two started looking to make a name for themselves in the wrestling business, as Oliver made his debut in 2006, soon going on to tour the United Kingdom and perform for numerous promotions on the British independent circuit.
Then, Oliver Grey was signed to a contract with NXT, making his debut in September 2012 - opening eyes in his first appearance in a sparring contest with Kassius Ohno. It wasn't long before Grey paired up with fellow countryman Adrian Neville, the two forming the 'British Ambition' and outlasting three other teams - finally beating Erick Rowan and Luke Harper of the Wyatt Family in the finals to become the first ever NXT Tag Team Champions. They continued to reign as champs, but in the spring of 2013, Grey fell to injury and was sidelined whilst Neville was unable to compete by himself, losing the titles to the Wyatts. Grey sidelined with a torn ligament in his leg, he wouldn't be seen for another eight months before making his return in January to come between former partner Neville and his new partner Corey Graves as the team had problems gelling.
Oliver Grey meanwhile rehabilitated further, and on April 17, 2014 he made his grand return to the ring looking completely different, and in a new found team with old friend from Manchester, Danny Burch. Known as the Manchester Ruffians, Grey and Burch returned to their roots taking care of Buddy Murphy and Wesley Blake - the two showing a previously unseen side of Grey. With Grey having gold under his belt already, he could elevate the new Burch to the next level - and if their in-ring debut proved anything, it was that the Ruffians could make the NXT Universe bow at their mercy. |

WWE NXT Live Event: April 19, 2014 Palatka, FL - Palatka Armory
- Approximately 100 people were on hand for this show, the crowd was lively for this show as well, and it showed well with the energetic pace of the show (I don't think one match went a second over ten minutes). A lot of action, and overall the runtime for the show was just over two hours long. It's always a pleasure to see NXT when they come to town.
| - Mojo Rawley def. Troy McClain in a short opening contest. McClain opened the show and discussed how out of shape the crowd was, wearing a hands-free headset and clad in a white blazer. He ran down the crowd further and began to promote a product designed to "decrease lazy folk like the guys in Palatka". It seems like he's running with a teleshopping presenter gimmick, and he plays it well with an infectious grin. Mojo Rawley interrupted him, and McClain ran him down further on the mic before Mojo cleared house of Troy and quite quickly put him away with the Hyperdrive but then followed up with what seems to be a new finisher (about time) in a stalling Falcon Arrow suplex. Mojo was popular, and the fans were really into his act.
- NXT Women's Champion Emma & Bayley def. Charlotte & Sasha Banks in a great tag team match, which perfectly showed the credentials of all four Divas and just how awesome the womens division in NXT truly can be. Emma looked great as she appeared to mentor Bayley, as Bayley was bent on getting revenge on Charlotte for taking her off TV the other month. Charlotte and Sasha Banks looked good controlling Bayley and working over the leg for what felt like a longer time than the match actually ran. Emma made the save, and with all four women involved in the finish, Emma made Sasha Banks submit with the Emma Lock.
- Ricky Edwards def. Solomon Crowe in a decent match. Was delighted to hear that Eddie Edwards had signed with the WWE and I'm happy to see he's not changed much about his character or ringname either. Edwards went to work on Solomon early on as the crowd were surprisingly 50/50 for both men. Fast-paced matwork to kick off, and it built to both men performing bigger moves on one another. Edwards hit a great dive over the ropes to the floor, and began to work on the ankle of Crowe setting up for his Achilles Lock - which was unfortunately blocked by Solomon. Crowe attempted to go for the Stretch Muffler but Edwards found a way out, and made his comeback leading to the Die Hard Driver giving him the win to a respectful audience. He is television material already, and Solomon didn't look bad either.
- The Ruffians def. Colin Cassady & Angelo Dawkins in an acceptable bout. With Enzo Amore still not cleared for action, he accompanied Big Cass to the ring and introduced everybody to Angelo Dawkins, who is quite a comedic character dressed in Percy Watson-esque glasses and portrays a hipster-type gimmick. He was popular and got the crowd into the match with his shtick. Meanwhile Danny Burch and Oliver Grey seem to have already dropped 'Manchester' from their team name - which is probably for the best since neither have a Manchester accent (I have family over there and visit as frequently as I can). Now just 'The Ruffians', the crowd booed them as they got beat on Angelo, before Big Cass came in and started pounding on both men. Dawkins came back into the match but fell to the powerbomb backbreaker double team move of the Ruffians for the win. Enzo was fired up after the match and tried to fight Grey and Burch just for Cass to restrain him.
- Sami Zayn & Kalisto def. The Legionnaires in a solid match. With the absence of Sin Cara and Alexander Rusev to the main roster's house show circuit, Sami Zayn stepped in to oppose Simon Gotch and Aiden English of the Legionnaires. They went to work on trying to weaken English and Gotch in a measure of retribution - and their chemistry in the contrasting technical style with the high-flying lucha libre style of Kalisto made it that much better. The Legionnaires looked good with Sylvester Lefort causing Kalisto to be taken advantage of, and Sami was great in his efforts to make the hot tag to no prevail. After some teased tag attempts by Kalisto, he finally made it and Sami looked great as per usual on the offense against Gotch and English. Aiden tried to go for the Director's Cut, but Zayn turned it into the Blue Thunder Bomb which led to Zayn finishing Gotch off with the Helluva Kick for three. They celebrated and shook hands with fans just prior to the intermission.
| - Baron Corbin def. Leo Kruger in a surprisingly sloppy match. Baron's still pretty green, as this match exposed him quite a bit with the length of the match. Leo Kruger looked good, though in trying to carry Corbin to a decent bout. Corbin's punches did look good though. He looked awkward and it was a strange sight seeing him in a defensive position submissive of Kruger's offense. I am very surprised that Leo isn't on the main roster yet, given how long he has been in NXT (I'm pretty sure he was on NXT's first ever house show in Palatka). Corbin made the comeback and put Leo away with the impressive End of Days finisher for the win to a good reaction.
- Camacho def. Bull Dempsey in a short match. I was actually surprised that Camacho was still under contract, considering that his partner in crime Hunico is now under the Sin Cara mask. Bull Dempsey had a really...average look about him in his black singlet and boots. So I guess that's his gimmick. Camacho looked better than he has previously, now looking ripped in just black jeans and looking quite the part. Bull attempted to pound away on Camacho, but Camacho came back and finished Dempsey with the running Samoan drop. Very interesting new direction for his character, but it'll be more interesting to see how he would present himself on TV.
- Corey Graves def. Travis Tyler in a surprisingly competitive match. Graves talked ill about Adrian Neville, who will appear in the main event later on, claiming to not be booked for this show meanwhile. He opened up a challenge to anybody in the back to show how good he was, and that's when Travis Tyler appeared. A lot of the fans knew who Travis was thanks to appearing on television two weeks ago. Travis showed good fight as he outweighed and was much taller than Corey - but Graves chopped him down and made him submit to the Lucky 13 submission. Corey looked good, and Travis still has some improving to do but he looked fine in this role.
- The Ascension def. Jason Jordan & Tye Dillinger to retain the NXT Tag Team Championships. Fun little bout, although the crowd knew that two Performance Center talents wouldn't win the titles on a house show in Palatka of all places. Konnor and Viktor looked mean, and were great as they dominated Tye Dillinger. Jason Jordan tried to get the tag and finally did, but fell quite quickly and this match was soon over with the Fall of Man for Jordan. The fans popped for the Ascension, which is kind of concerning. I see the Road Warriors effect in them, and it may change their reactions to being babyfaces if it continues.
- Scott Dawson def. C.J. Parker by disqualification. Surprising to see Scott make his return to the ring, but the more interesting thing is that C.J. Parker was protected in this match. Dawson played the babyface after interrupting Parker introducing his new friend, the seemingly high Cal Bishop. It was fun to see Bishop in a proper role for once, and he looked fine looking very pro-green holding C.J.'s picket sign. Dawson almost had Parker down with a spinebuster slam, but Cal Bishop jumped Dawson causing a rare disqualification for NXT. Parker and Bishop laid the boots to Dawson to boos, as they celebrated and continued to rave about saving the planet. Scott looks better than he did in his past run before injury.
- Adrian Neville def. Tyler Breeze in a fantastic main event. Tyler looked great in this main event role, and has main event material written all over him. He could be the one to watch out for, although Adrian Neville looked fantastic here too. Breeze worked over Neville early on, going after the legs to try and slow down Adrian, but Neville continued to rise to the occasion and work away at Breeze. Fantastic spot where Breeze tried the Beauty Shock but Neville ducked - Breeze landing on his feet and Neville reacting with a superkick of his own. Neville was phenomenal, he is NXT's MVP right now, if not Sami Zayn or Bo Dallas. Breeze worked away at Neville more, cutting him down and posing to the loving fans (who popped for a lot of the heels tonight). Neville then went for the Red Arrow just for Corey Graves to interfere: but Neville chased him off, and eventually the Beauty Shock missed and he received the shooting star splash before Neville decided to go up top and hit the Red Arrow, which was good for the win. Awesome main event, and Neville then got into a brawl with Corey Graves after the match leading to Neville trying to Red Arrow Graves, just for him to bail much like on NXT this past week. Really awesome show, these live events get better each time they return to Palatka.

#RAW MONDAY NIGHT RAW - Monday 21st April 2014 - Baltimore, MD (#1091) LIVE on the USA Network!
BAD NEWS BARRETT def. THE BIG SHOW BY COUNT-OUT IN THE QUARTER-FINAL ROUND OF THE #1 CONTENDERS INTERCONTINENTAL CHAMPIONSHIP TOURNAMENT - The first round of an eight-man tournament to determine the next number one contender to Big E's Intercontinental Championship, the Big Show went up against Bad News Barrett in this quarter-final bout, as Show attempted to keep on top of Barrett by using his size as an advantage early on - but as time went by Bad News managed to find a way to weaken the 'World's Largest Athlete' - through hard-hitting punches, to which Big Show tried to fight with punches of his own just for Barrett to exhaust the veteran this way. The Brit attempted the Bullhammer but it was blocked, and when Show attempted the WMD that was blocked as well - as the Big Show tried to capitalize later on. Show had Barrett up for the Chokeslam at one point, but Alexander Rusev walked down the aisle with the Russian flag waving high: and just like that Barrett managed to escape thanks to the distraction and nail Show with not one but TWO rebounding Bullhammer elbows from the ropes, picking up the win and advancing in 6:34. *3/4
Bad News Barrett celebrated his win as he scurried away from a dosed Big Show, as Alexander Rusev then decided to close in on the 'World's Largest Athlete' to boos, the newcomer climbing into the ring and getting set up to attempt the Accolade, but as he tried Show started to wake up, and Rusev wasn't able to get it locked in, Big Show shoving the Bulgarian away and chasing him from the ring! Show was fuming now as Rusev was taken aback at how he couldn't get the Accolade locked in on the 500 pounder.
PAIGE def. AKSANA - With the Divas Champion AJ Lee expected to defend the title against Tamina Snuka later on tonight, the newcomer from NXT Paige was in action instead against Lithuanian Diva Aksana, although the 'Anti-Diva' was not in the mood for the antics of Aksana, who crawled slyly and slowly around the ring - and this allowed Paige to immediately go to town on her, locking in the Scorpion Crosslock forcing Aksana to submit in 1:48. n/a
After her win, Paige celebrated, although the 'Anti-Diva' seemed prepared for the match later on between AJ Lee and Tamina Snuka. And things seemed to certainly seemed to escalate after AJ's ally and top contender Tamina decided to walk out on her friend. In an interview before the big defense however, AJ Lee decided in an interview with Tom Phillips to talk about her feelings towards Tamina - firmly stating that her departure as a friend was 'no big deal' to her, confident about winning tonight.
AJ LEE def. TAMINA SNUKA TO RETAIN THE DIVAS CHAMPIONSHIP - After this match was decided last week on Main Event by Tamina, AJ's supposed friend winning a number one contender's battle royal match: and Snuka cemented her position as more than AJ's sidekick last Friday night on SmackDown when she walked out on AJ during a tag team match against Paige and Emma from NXT. Paige was surely watching closely backstage, as she was screwed out of the battle royal last Tuesday night. Tamina took AJ to the limit, as she tried to keep on top of Lee; but AJ was quick and maintained a hit-and-run strategy, working away on the leg of Tamina. Snuka soon fired back, but after hitting a Samoan drop and attempting to go to the top for the Superfly Splash, she was too slow and AJ dodged the big splash, allowing AJ to roll Snuka up and score the victory slyly in 5:13. *3/4
AJ Lee celebrated her win by scurrying away with the Divas Championship in her grasp, whilst Tamina Snuka was left in the ring looking absolutely furious with her former associate. AJ was officially a loner in the Divas locker room and standing tall at 308 days as Divas Champion. Meanwhile Paige was shown predictably watching on from a monitor, keeping her eye on AJ.
#MainEvent WWE MAIN EVENT - Tuesday 22nd April 2014 - Hershey, PA (#82) LIVE on the WWE Network!
Neither of the NXT Superstars that have recently come up to the main roster appeared in a match on Main Event this week, however instead Alexander Rusev was seen delivering a short promo on the Big Show, talking in slightly broken English about how he has arrived in the WWE and that he plans on crushing all opposition - and what a way to start it would be for the 'Bulgarian Brute' to take down a former WWE Champion, the 500-pound 'World's Largest Athlete' the Big Show. Rusev said that he plans on making Show suffer, before challenging him to a match at Extreme Rules in two weeks time.
#SmackDown FRIDAY NIGHT SMACKDOWN - Friday 25th April 2014 - Hershey, PA (#766) Taped: Tuesday 23rd April 2014 - Broadcast on the SyFy Network
After the challenge was made last Tuesday night on Main Event by Alexander Rusev, the Big Show was interviewed by Renee Young, who asked for a response to the Bulgarian's comments and challenge made for Extreme Rules. The Big Show talked about how he likes a good challenge, and that he accepts - then stating that messing with him was the worst possible decision this rookie could make: because the 'World's Largest Athlete' planned on knocking down this unpatriotic numbskull.
- EXTREME RULES, MAY 5, 2014: After weeks of attacks from the newcomer from NXT, 'Bulgarian Brute' Alexander Rusev, the Bulgarian has called out the Big Show and the challenge has been accepted by the 'World's Largest Athlete' - and the two shall meet at Extreme Rules in a clash of the titans.
PAIGE def. ALICIA FOX - Another encounter between these two Divas who have met a few times already in Paige's last few weeks on the main roster. The 'Anti-Diva' had watched closely to the Divas Championship match, and Paige was out to make a name for herself towards the current reigning Divas Champion AJ Lee - but Alicia Fox was out to try and block her path. And she tried to do this well as she could, going for the Scissors Kick early just for Paige to dodge it and go back after Fox. The former NXT Women's Champion was soon on the receiving end of an attack from a fiery Fox, who screamed at her repeatedly - but Paige eventually began to fight back, the 'Anti-Diva' soon putting Fox away with the Paige Turner for the win in 5:22. *1/2
Paige celebrated her win to a good ovation from the WWE Universe, as the 'Anti-Diva' then picked up a microphone and told the Hershey crowd that she wanted her Divas Championship shot. AJ Lee's theme hit however, and when AJ skipped out onto the rampway, the Divas Champion only had one word to say to Paige: "no". She told Paige that she had to prove it first, and that Paige was going to be nothing like her. She wished Paige the best of luck condescendingly, then called her a greenhorn before skipping back to the backstage area. Paige was visibly irate by this.
ALEXANDER RUSEV def. LOS MATADORES - Diego and Fernando were only a few weeks off of coming up short in the WrestleMania Kickoff Show bout for the WWE Tag Team Championships, but Alexander Rusev debuted the night after WrestleMania and has been unstoppable ever since. Rusev annihilated both Matadores before wrapping things up quickly with the Accolade on Diego in 1:49. n/a
The crowd booed as Alexander Rusev refused to let go of the Accolade on Diego, when suddenly El Torito tried to springboard into the ring, just to walk into the waiting arms of the mean Bulgarian! Rusev pulled on him by the horns and was ready to superkick him - but that's when the theme of the Big Show hit, and out ran the 'World's Largest Athlete' to the rescue, Big Show once again clearing the ring of Rusev, and this time Big Show tried to chase Rusev out to ringside, where the Bulgarian bailed by the barricade through the crowd! Show was fuming and couldn't wait until Extreme Rules in nine days.

NXT News of the Week (April 17 - April 24, 2014)
- With NXT taping this Thursday night, it appears right now that the first show will be aired on a one hour tape delay from it happening live. It is also expected that matches will be announced for NXT Unleashed, the next NXT live special which will air next month. (April 20, 2014)
- Triple H has spoken out in the media recently stating that he only wants the NXT live specials to take place quarterly after the success of ArRIVAL back in February. He has seen the success and noted it as being on the back of being an established brand over the past two years and would rather keep excitement high for the shows. On that note, a full card was apparently in the works weeks ago. (April 18, 2014)
- The students at Full Sail University have actually been working in marketing and promoting the NXT tapings and shows in Florida in the past few months - apparently doing a good job of it. They even increased attendance at Palatka, Florida for last weekend's live event there than last time they visited that area (June 2013). (April 20, 2014)
- Rich Bocchini has been signed to a contract. Bocchini was the announcer for Booker T's 'Reality of Wrestling' promotion based in Texas, and has also worked as an announcer for American Hockey League team the Houston Aeros, as well as a communications manager at Comcast Sports Houston. Rich is expected to be brought into NXT to work on announcing in connection to this. (April 19, 2014)
- NXT talents Jason Jordan and Tye Dillinger have recently put out a video on YouTube asking for the NXT Universe to choose a name for their tag team. The two Performance Center personnel have appeared on television before, but typically in losing scenarios - which could mean a more prominent usage of them in future shows. (April 23, 2014) |
