I know people love T2, and so do I. But to me, the first one is the superior film, I think the romance added a much needed touch, and man vs. machine made for more suspenseful chase sequences. I also love Arnie in the villain role. The romance in the first movie has always been an issue for me....mainly because Hamilton has a face like a kicked arse. She is one of THE least attractive leading ladies EVER IMO. That being said I rank the first movie RIGHT behind T2(directors cut) Cameron's 2 best movies IMO are T2 & Aliens(stressing Directors Cuts for both)....virtually impossible for me to decide which is better. Hamilton is (or at least was at the time) what I call "realistic attractive", and it's a quality I quite like. I'm glad she isn't a super model, she's an attractive, normal looking woman, that's part of what I hated about Megan Fox playing April. Although I can see where you're coming from as Bein was a good looking dude. No homo. I need to watch T1 and T2 again, I haven't seen them since I watched that abomination T3. I still need to see Alien/Aliens, can't believe I've never seen any of them (apart from Alien vs. Predator, which blew chunks). |

I have Alien on DVD but I haven't seen it yet, perhaps I'll watch it tonight (or tomorrow morning). Alien is such a good watch....love the atmosphere in that movie. Scott does so well....but Cameron just expands everything brilliantly in the sequel and ratchets up the tension to 12 on the 10 scale. Aliens also has my main man Michael Biehn......loved him as Hicks in Aliens. Aliens is just SUCH an important movie to the genre. it set the template for every Soldiers vs the unknown movie that ever followed. |
