I know people love T2, and so do I. But to me, the first one is the superior film, I think the romance added a much needed touch, and man vs. machine made for more suspenseful chase sequences. I also love Arnie in the villain role.
To me, Terminator 2 is the perfect sequel to a perfect film, but wouldn't have worked nearly as well without the first one having already happened. I can understand if people prefer the second film, because it's amazing. I just prefer the first by a smidge. Both are in my top 10 all-time favorites. I don't think the first film gets nearly enough credit.
Terminator 3 is the worst film ever made (except maybe that new Turtles film, sheesh).
The fact that Salvation has as many votes as T1 is downright horrifying, because it wasn't far off being as bad as T3.

At least her film didn't follow two of the best films ever made. T3 literally took Terminator 2's script, smeared it with feces, tweaked some crapand then called that a film. |

Salvation picked up where it was supposed to, and seemingly had the right intentions of telling the human vs machine war story, but it was an emotionally hollow effort. That's why I love that we're getting a complete reboot based on the building blocks that Cameron put in place. This way, there will be far less pressure to stay cannon and they can reintroduce the human element of the story. Here is a link to the new images. I was a BIG fan of Terminator: Salvation.. And I'm bummed out that they're going back to the Sarah Conner story instead of exploring more of the humans vs. Skynet story with adult John Conner. SO MUCH can be done with that.

I enjoyed Salvation too. BUT I wanted to see the war we glimpsed in Kyle's Flashbacks and at the start of T2. It got too tied up in the time travel consequences too

SO MUCH can be done with that. From what I understand, the new film tackles both elements. Jason Clarke, who is 45, is JC, and Matt Smith will be his right hand in the future timeline. We also get to see the conversation between JC and Kyle Reese where JC sends him back in time. I would imagine the new film will kickoff showing us the battle between Skynet and adult John Conner and his human militia. I think we're going to see a past and future intertwining story throughout the length of the first film. Then if it does well we can see them expand on that idea on followup films. |

Terminator 2, hands down. John Connor's foster dad drinking the carton of milk through a metal blade, is a scene I always remember.

THE scene for me in T2 is when Arnie unloads the M-16 clip directly into the t-1000 through the windscreen of the truck.
the music when he grabs the rifle and climbs the truck is "hair standing on end" material EVERY time for me.....LOVE that scene.

Btw they could have made Arnold look much younger, obviously it's not final so idk if they're gonna cgi him to look super young but hopefully they do. And always love myself some Jason Clarke

WAIT IS THAT DOCTOR WHO IN THE NEW ONE?!?! Yeah, Matt Smith. They are going to redo the 1984 arrival of the Terminator. So they are going to make Arnold look the exact same way as he did in the original film with the cgi. So he should look mid 30s. |

I also love Arnie in the villain role. The romance in the first movie has always been an issue for me....mainly because Hamilton has a face like a kicked arse. She is one of THE least attractive leading ladies EVER IMO. That being said I rank the first movie RIGHT behind T2(directors cut) Cameron's 2 best movies IMO are T2 & Aliens(stressing Directors Cuts for both)....virtually impossible for me to decide which is better. |
