My opinion is still the same. Selfishly I miss him on my TV but I'm happy he's happy. C'mon, do you really think CM Punk, one of the crabbiest guys ever in pro wrestling, is actually happy? I don't blame him for getting sick of the WWE politics and shabby treatment at all. But if there ever was a guy who wasn't gonna find his smile, it's Punk. Why would you think he isn't? Kind of a weird stance to take.

I wouldn't be surprised if Vince's response to what Punk claims, is to laugh and say he was just trying to keep Punk on his toes. Anyone who has paid attention to WWF/E longterm is already familiar with Vince's craziness. If he does something great, he has to screw it up somehow. They just did it again by putting on a pretty great Survivor Series, so of course they had to make Raw awful and end it with the Anonymous GM stuff, same with the ending of Summerslam 2014. He HAS to crap on the table tonight if we feasted last night. This seems a very fickle and bizarre way to run a billion dollar industry. I'm not sure I understand that plan. But this is the guy who made the kiss my ass club. "So we've got this new CM Punk brand going, how can we screw this up somehow, show this piece of crap who the boss is, who the real man is?" Same as hiring all those WCW guys in 2001 then treating them like crap, not understanding they're now YOUR employees. We're going to hire this guy just to screw him or shelve him has been going on forever. Let's get Steamboat away from WCW in 91 so he can't wrestle Flair anymore, then do nothing with him except feud with who was it, the Brooklyn Brawler?? OK Vince. "CM Punk's stock is soaring! Damn it somebody call Big Daddy Cool Diesel!" edit: And we all know that whenever Vince sees Punk for the first time, he'll smile and go to hug Punk like nothing happened. "Hey pal, how ya feeling?" YOU KNOW IT. lol You can hear him say it. It'll be exactly the same as the way he talked to Warrior following the Self Destruction DVD. "Vince, you fired me on my wedding day!" "That's just business, Punk, it's not personal." Vince is hysterical, I'd rather watch him mumble at his desk than Raw.

I think you're right about Steamboat and the WCW guys in 2001, the same can be said about Dusty also. I don't think he had the same thought process for Punk though. Yes Punk was in some questionable booking after, even during his LEGENDARY reign, but he was always as high on the card as anyone can be who's name isn't Cena. That's where the real problem lies. Also, I don't think Raw was intended to be an awful mess because Survivor Series was so great. Survivor Series wasn't even that good overall. The main event dilevered incredible moments and the best debut we've ever seen, but it was still a one match PPV. The rest of the show was just as much as a mess that this past Raw was. I'm proud of Punk for standing up for himself. It's not selfish to me at all. We shouldn't expect him to do something that his entire life and health will need to revolve around if he isn't happy doing it. With that said you can't blame McMahon for this. Even though it's cliché, Punk screwed Punk.

No I'm not blaming McMahon, I don't really think there's anyone to blame for anything, just is the way it is. I love Vince McMahon, it's between he and Macho Man to me for most entertaining personality in the history of wrestling. He's endlessly funny and fascinating. Vincent 'No Juniors Allowed' McMahon. What's happened with Punk naturally compares itself to his at times soured relationships with Steamboat, Savage, Warrior, Hart, Austin, Angle and many others. They all have similarities and differences of course, but this adds another part of the picture of Vince since he's the common denominator.

Some 'updates' from Road Dogg www.wrestlinginc.com/wi/news/2014/1127/585262/wwe-employee-argues-with-fans-on-twitter-over-cm-punk-interview/He is right, you cannot make a judgement unless you were in the room with the guys when Punk quit, and you cant make a safe assumption without hearing WWE's side too. I imagine it is an no-go topic, but it would be great to hear Austin discuss this with McMahon on his podcast. At the end of the day, the Royal Rumble is the 1 year anniversary of Punk walking out, all i know is it would be possibly one of the biggest swerves in history for him to return, win and take on Brock at wrestlemania, fulfilling his dream of main eventing

Ryback just tweeted: For the record if I quit for being fragile and insecure I would make up excuses too. Things didn't go my way for a long time and I kept Going day in and out. Slander is a powerful thing and to state complete made up nonsense for no reason shows his insecurities. I will Continue to bust my ass study matches every chance I get, cut promos when driving and push myself for hours on end even when hurt. Thank you More reason to think Ryback is a worthless piece of crap. Genuinely hope he's fired in a year. Really Ryback is a piece of crap for defending himself. What kind of twisted logic is that.

I don't doubt much of what he has said is true on some level, although much is probably exaggerated. I think the parts that ring most true are the stuff about HHH and some of the medical stuff. I also bet he was by far the hardest person to work with on the roster. I never really liked him but if he's happy then more power to him. I know that he said he's happy for Bryan, and I bet he is, but I also bet that on some level it kills him that Bryan already has a better legacy than him. More over & main-evented WM 30 winning the title. He probably directs that anger towards the company (and rightly so because they're the ones that ed it up in 2011), but I bet its there. TBF even if he main-evented WM27/29 and WWE cashed in on the 'Summer of Punk', he still wouldn't ever have been as over as Bryan was, so he probably would've got upset about that. I like that he says Cena & Orton speak out against the machine, as it shows they use their rare 'untouchable' position for good.

Defending himself from what? The fact that he's terrible to work with? He injured Punk twice, as well as a few others. I understand him getting on the defensive, because Punks comments obviously got to him..but the fact of the matter is he should be owning up to what he did not making fun of the situation in order to make himself feel better. What does he do? He posts a photo reenacting the spot where he injured Punks Pelvis. I don't see how laughing at you injuring one of your (at the time) co-workers is funny. Sometimes you gotta own up to your mistakes no matter how much of an ass it makes you look.

ThugSuperstar, most large corporations tend to do some unethical things to their employees. The WWE is no exception to this. Why is this news here, I have no clue. Did I specifically state I am anti-CM Punk? I don't recall saying that. Punk destroyed his legacy be showing to his fans that he is a quitter. As far as Daniel Bryan is concerned, the WWE did a slow build to him for WrestleMania XXX. I said it back then, the WWE wanted a slow build and chase. When he finally captured the gold, the fans had something positive to go home to. It was merely old-school booking at its finest. If you honestly think WWE's plan all along was for Bryan to win the title at Mania, you are seriously dense and drinking WWE's Kool Aid. He and Sheamus were going to fight a meaningless, midcard match. Punk/HHH was the plan. Orton/Batista was the plan. The reason plans changed was because Punk left, Batista was not over and didn't want to be a face, and the crowd was letting them hear it every show. Who said I was drinking the WWE's kool-aid here? I sure as hell didn't say that. I am fully aware that two days prior to the 2014 Royal Rumble, Daniel Bryan was slated to go against Sheamus. We all know that once CM Punk left, those plans changed. Af far as Vince McMahon allegedly hugging CM Punk, it is his way of trying to keep him in a good mood and thanking him. From what I can tell you, Vince McMahon cares about those who make him $$$. In situations like this, Punk has made the WWE money and at one point, was one of the E's biggest cash cows. I do remember the reports that Triple H was irate towards CM Punk. Why would Triple H be pissed off? I I like to think Triple H wanted to have a really solid match with CM Punk at WrestleMania XXX. There are always two sides of the story. The WWE's version of this story won't corroborate the statements Punk made.

I was never anti-Punk when this all went down. I was super bummed that he left. He's legit in my top 5 favorites of all time. After hearing the interview, WWE sounds like an absolutely horrible place to work.

I'm glad Ryback fired back. that sh*t. Punk might have a lot of reasons to be pissed, but don't throw a peer under the bus. Edit. You guys see his twitter pic? A nice subtle jab at Punk. And using figs lol.

James addressed the topic to the fan, saying, "As far as release papers on his wedding day, wasn't his wedding a secret? How did they know it was his wedding day?"
That's a very valid point.

Valid point indeed. How did the WWE know it was CM Punk's wedding day? It is known that Punk's inner circle is small. I doubt the WWE even knew it was Punk's wedding day the day he received termination papers. I will say there is more to this story that none of us can see.

Whilst I don't actually believe they did it deliberately on his wedding day to spite Punk (although I wouldn't be that shocked if they did), Punk said he was planning for his wedding to HHH on the phone (which was presumably when they decided to fire him). They would have also given AJ time off for the wedding & honeymoon, and I assume a few wrestlers were invited too. It was a secret to the general public, but I'm sure plenty of people in WWE knew when it was.

When Hunter texted him, Punk said that he was getting married in two days and he would call back after the honeymoon, that's how they knew it was his wedding day.
