Guys, I found some old pictures of my Mattel collection and it got me thinking of how I started collecting again and how buying two figures at a discount store in 2012 quickly lead to a collection of over 400 figures. Looking back, I'm glad that I took the time to snap a few pics along the way, even if some were blurry.
The first two Mattel figures I ever picked up were Elite 8 Shaemus and a basic PPV Over the Limit CM Punk for a combined $18 at a store called Winners which is a Canadian version of Marshall's or TJ Maxx but they have a toy dept that used to stock WWE figures. I took the shiny Spinner title belt and gave it to Punk, thought it looked awesome and went back to next day to buy more. Needless to say, I'm hooked and love the quality of Mattel's work. Here is my collection as it's grown over the past three years. Again, sorry for the blurry pics at the start...
Early Years - 2012 I remember thinking at the time that I just wanted to get one of each guy and that would be it. 6 Warriors, 8 Takers, and 12 Punks later....yeah that didn't last long at all. (Was this picture taken under water?)
Late 20012 - starting to really get the bug. Huge sales on Legends, Elites & DM's at RS at the time certainly made it easy to grow the collection quickly
2013 - Fully hooked haha - So glad we have the Defining Moment Series back again. My favorite line for sure
First Ikea Detolf Display case purchase
New house in late 2013 with walk-in closet. My wife was good enough to let me have half the space. Started out with two glass display cases...best thing about the fully enclosed case is that I haven't had to dust anything in over a year
I added a third display case earlier this year and they're all equipped with lights on every level. It looks really cool when all other lights are off and just the display case is lit up. It's definitely an awesome sanctuary for a few minutes in the morning while I get ready for work each day. Wish I had room for another case...or two
So this is my collection over the years. I have some more MOC stuff in boxes that I plan on displaying when I get more room.
Thanks for looking!
