Hello everyone! Hope having another post on the front page doesn't bother anyone. If so I do apologize.
Anyway onto the matter at hand. Ill try to explain this so it makes sense.
So my mother tried out this site and she seemed to like it. Now all she was looking for was simple love, some affection, somebody to talk to. Nothing to do with sex right away bc she's not like that. But anyway it was this site that is called Ourtime.com or seniorsmeet.com
Now she started talking to this guy, and his name is Steve. She has been talking to him for 3 months or so and they have even had phone conversations and have exchanged pictures between the two...nothing nasty! lol. So it all seems legit and friendly to her. He calls her dear and honey and so on. There emails they exchange friggen long like 3 pages worth each time. So it seems like there really into each other.
She finds more out about him, like he lives in California and he owns a Precious gems and Jeweerly store. Thats all good and what not because she doesn't care what kind of money he has. Anyway he takes a trip to Dubai, about two weeks ago to do some business with his Precious Gems. So while susposedly out there, he is now stuck because the banks in Dubai are not accepting Steves checks from his american institue, because they don't recognize it.
So Steve now is telling my mom this story, and says well my friend Jim Bertolini , can send you a check and cash it for me and send me the money to Dubai so I can get myself a hotel and plane back home and then I will take care of you for helping me out when I arrive back to California. Now this is where I start telling her ehhh sounds like Bullcrapto me, but my mom is a too nice person and trusting which can be a serious fault at times.
The check arrives, with the guys name Jim Bertolini on it, coming from Chino, Ca. It seems legit, ya know, from Cali where Steve and Jim both live so why not, but Im still calling BS at this point, but no one listens to me story of my life. She takes it to the ATM and deposits into the ATM on a Friday, Saturday comes and the check is cleared. I tell my mom to wait, til Wednesday to see if this check will be retracted from her account, because I had something similar happen to me, with a "work at home" job but I caught it by letting it sit in the bank.
Anyway, the guy Steve says I need you to send it to me in Dubai via Western Union so I can recieve it today and get out of here etc. So she has been instructed to go to a W.U. and do a 3800.00 transfer. So all is said done. Now its only Monday at this point and since she being a nice person and believe this guy because they've been talking legit for a while she does it....3 hours late the check is retracted from her account and she is now -3800.00 in her bank account and all she lives on is a crappy Retirement 709.00 SSI check.
So now after this happens she contacts the guys Jim and Steve via text and there still talking to her like apologizing for the inconviece and what not and that Jim will send her another check for 4800.00 to clear up the mess. Now that check arrives and this time she takes it inside the bank and the check is deeemed fraud and stolen. So that was last week and she is still talking to these people, making them think that she is still along for the plan.
We have filed a police report and everything. The bank said she cant use the fraud department because the check was cleared and then retracted from her account already. So they cant issue no funds to her. So she is prosecuting with the police department for fraud. She has a case and everything.
SOOOOOO now that you have read this long and maybe boring maybe interesting and sad story lol, here are my questions.
1. Is there a chance they will get these people and get her money back?
2.I just called this guy JIM phone and it says its a Google Talk number? What the heck is Google Talk? can someone expplain it to me? I read up about it but didn't really understand it at all? Maybe simple terms lol.
3.My mom needs to print out all the text messages from these 2. She has everything from day one. She already printed out her emaails, but now the cops want the text messages. How can I print the whole text conversations out?
She has Metro PCS and her phone is a HUAWEI. I plugged it into the computer and I dont see anything about messages. Any other ideas?

ers in jail but all you can really do is learn not to get conned again.
