that Raven thing just goes to show, again, what a poison Steph was in creative. another cancelled angle - the Katie Lea and Paul Burchill storyline, which was specifically done to make them on-air siblings so Vince could do an incest angle. Which was supposedly done after Stephane repeatedly shot down an incest angle with her and Vince. Vito Wearing Ashley Massaro's Clothes That wasn't dropped. Vito did that gimmick for years after he was released from WWE. On his website he listed two separate booking fees, his normal fee and his fee to show up in a dress. And wasn't Hassan fired?

Dusty Rhodes, Road Warriors, Tully Blanchard and Arn Anderson, Ax, Ron Simmons, HBK, Tito Santana, Rick Martel, all those men are much bigger stars than Hassan. All of those men were repackaged in wwf. And all of those men made it work. Hassan quit the company as soon as they pulled his character and never again wrestled. It was for the best that he left. There is a difference between being repackaged in the 80s/early 90s by completely different companys and being repackaged by literally the only game in town in 2005. The WWE screwed the booking of the Hassan character big time, to the point that TV networks didn't want the character on tv anymore. The WWE could have given him a completely different character but the bottom line is that the current WWE fans wouldn't have bought it. Mark Copani IS Muhammed Hassan. They could have trotted him out as "The Patriot, Mark Copani," and fans still would have been throwing the Hassan chants at him. It was basically go through that crap until being released by the WWE or go to TNA and play a similar character to Hassan. I don't blame Copani for leaving wrestling all together. I was always under the impression that when UPN banned Hassan from TV, they banned Copani as a whole because he was the one portraying the character. Sure they could have put him back on RAW, but they had just moved him and he wouldn't have fit anywhere I suppose. They weren't going to do anything with him, might as well move on to something else since there was basically WWE and nothing else by then.

Sean O'Haire's Devil's Advocate character comes to mind. They had long build up with the character, with the promo videos, and non wrestling appearances on TV. Then they suddenly put him with Roddy Piper, and he was basically just Piper's side kick, with no real mention of the character they had built up for his return to TV.
A few others were when Heidenreich first debuted on TV as a face, and would always talk about "Little Johnny."
Nathan Jones being Undertaker's protege.
I also remember hearing one years ago, concerning CM Punk. The way I heard it, originally the idea was to debut Punk on Heat, as a deaf wrestler, with Mickie James as his manager. Thankfully for Punk and Mickie, it was scrapped.

They never really went anywhere with the whole Heidenreich/Michael Cole poetry-butt rape angle, which was for the benefit of us all.
I do remember though when Randy Orton kept getting concussions and it lead to nowhere. That seems to be a thing that always comes up in these topics, much like the Anonymous RAW GM, to which I do not buy Hornswoggle as being for a second.
Someone should hint to Vince that it isn't too late to do his incest angle though. Isn't that why he hired The Usos anyway??

Pretty sure it was a blind wrestler not deaf, and I believe it was Heyman that pushed for that to be scrapped and let punk be punk keep his name and let Heyman book him in ECW

I don't even know how you'd be able to pull off playing the guy as blind, and make it work.
