The only thing I ever get from Target is WWE Topps cards. Other than that, I've never bought any figures from there before nor have I seen anything good there. I'm also really disappointed that we don't get Target exclusives or Elites

I've decided I'm a basic figure collector largely because being an Elite collector is a ing headache living in Western Canada. At least we're somewhat capable of keeping close with the basic lines. Last Elites I were able to find were E26. That said I picked up B41 Cesaro, D.Bry and McIntyre as well as B39 Justin Gabriel from my local target. just use amazon. Bah! Shipping and handling though

Has anyone else heard that Target is being shut down, Canada wide? My Target was nothing but a failed experiment.... i havent heard of them being shut down...but they definitely havent been great... tho there has been some amazing video game clearance deals over the past 1.5 years at target that I have taken advantage of... and there is a new target opening up about 15 minutes from me, so dont think they are dying yet.

Archer Farms spicy ketchup kettle cooked chips is what I'll miss from Target. And their clearance deals.

Take it for what it's worth, but it sounds like it's a good possibility that they'll pull the plug on a failed experiment that's costing them WAY too much money. m.huffpost.com/ca/entry/6417828

^ they did too many too fast.. and far too big imo.. they could have made them smaller, more compact for the Canadian Market.. but many, technology and times are definitely changing and hurting big companies..
its funny to think that in the late 80s, early 90s, we had things like Consumers Distributing...but that failed because ppl wanted to see the products, feel them, etc...and now, 20 years later, we are going back to the method of just order and pick up your item, which having to see it physically in stores.. Best Buy and Future Shop are opening locations that are just for pickup and disbursement, just like Consumers Distributing was..

I knew Target wouldn't last and that they were doomed from the start. What they should've done when they came was to have "Superstores" or "Supercenters" to match Wal-Mart and have their prices equal-to or slightly less than Wal-Mart.
But, since they were all basically the average Zellers re-opened, they took a major massive loss and are now facing the same exact fate as Zellers before them.
Since they've been here, I've only been to Target twice and that was at the Milton location. Once to just see what they got and see their prices by myself and the second time with my buddy and we both haven't been in a Target store since and that was at least a year and a half ago.
As my good buddy often tells me, he heard someone else say that "Target is Zellers with lipstick" and I pretty much agree.
Wal-Mart is too big and too strong for Target to compete with. Wal-Mart is a monster of a company. Wal-Mart is like WWE and Target is like TNA. You can try to compete, but in the end, it's all for not.
I won't miss Target at all. I miss Zellers more.
I think the writing is on the wall here guys. Target's name and logo backfired on them when they came to Canada to try and compete with Wal-Mart. They've got big bulls-eyes on all of their stores (literally) and Wal-Mart is ready to take the shot and take them out.

Bah! Shipping and handling though works out to the same really, saves you time too. yeah that's true but it takes away the thrill of the hunt. Though i guess the hunt isn't that thrilling anymore. I did wander into Walmart today and nabbed El Torito and a basic Jinder to round out 3MB.

There was one nearby my house that closed when I was maybe 4-5 years old, but I distinctly remember that place being a hotbed for awesome toys. I recall seeing so many toys there like the old Mighty Max playsets, Star Trek figures, and TMNT stuff. It was the only store I'd ever seen the original TMNT blimp in too. Another toy store that was really awesome was Toys & Wheels. Their logo was yellow and blue and they carried TONS of awesome stuff back in the day.

I remember getting lots of WWF Hasbro figures there. There used to be one at Bramalea City Centre. Now to go REALLY old-school, who remembers Bi-Way, Stedmans, Bargain Harolds, Towers and Big V Drug Store?? Those stores are going back nearly 30 years, so they might be before your guys' time, but I remember shopping at each and every one of them. I miss those old stores. They are long gone but not forgotten. Giant Tiger these days is almost like how Bi-Way and Bargain Harolds used to be.

My araa didnt have any Bargain Harolds or Towers, but we had Bi-Ways and Big V.....time does fly.. but Bi-Way was actually still around here in 1997-1998ish as they still had a store when i started high school.. it then switched to a Video Store for like 2-3 years before that closed.. use to rent old school WWF VHS for $2 from there...good times...
as for another store, I actually remember purchasing the nWo Back in Black DVD in late 2002 from Hy & Zel's...every time i think of that store, it feels like it died 20+ years ago, but was actually around still in 2003ish lol..

ARUN i recall phoning consumers multiple times as a kid asking them if they had power ranger figures because my friend had the large megazord he said he got from there but they always told me no because i guess it wasnt listed as "power rangers", so i had to use my smaller version that only had removable legs until finally they realized what i was asking for and i got him. i also recall getting the hulkster hug hasbro from there

I got pretty much every PR toy from Consumers. All the megazords, the morpher and blaster, tons of monster figures, etc. Used to buy all my wrestling figures as a kid from Bi-Way too.
