If anything since Cena can't be "The Man" forever for this company it begs the question of who should be groomed to take over Cena's spot? Who should be the next "Face of WWE" who should be WWE's top guy? Who should be "The Man?

I went with Seth Rollins.
Clearly Seth and Roman will be the two top stars eventually.
Ambrose will be a star too, and may even be a WWE Champion once or twice, but I think it will always go back to Seth and Roman.
Like it did Orton and Cena.
Triple H and Rock.
Bret and Shawn.
etc.

I voted for Daniel Bryan.
I wish WWE would stop trying to fight the fans affection for the guy - they ought to embrace it and make him the focal point of the company for a while - maybe they will.
He has an organic connection with the audience that isn't forced or created by marketing. We haven't seen that since the early days of "Stone Cold" or "The Rock." He appeals to a mass audience, too.
I tend to think wrestling is better when there isn't just one "man" though - there should be a number of compelling characters and storylines going on simultaneously, the whole show shouldn't focus on one guy.
While I'm enjoying watching Ambrose - I think they are going the wrong direction with Dean - he'd make a much better natural heel than a babyface.

Flair was the franchise of WCW he was the man just like how Hogan was for WWE before he left for WCW and then Bret became The Man just like Shawn did just like Austin/Rock simultaneously became the Man and then Cena became the Man so something has gotta give

Rollins, Bryan and Ambrose. If Reigns can continue to improve in ring and get to be at least decent on the mic, I'd add him too.

Bryan, him as The Man I just cannot see it, at best I still see him as an injury prone B+ player who just doesn't have what it takes to carry the company on his back much like how Cena has for the past decade and a half

Bryan already is the man, whether WWE likes it or not. Did you see his reaction and segment last night? That was very Austin-like that made the attitude era so great. After that, the fans were dead silent the rest of the show.

In his 10+ year career he was only out of action once with an injury and that was last year. Learn your facts before you say something stupid. It'll easily be Seth Rollins and Reigns. Back in 2010 I fn hated the fact that Rollins got signed because he was my favorite on the indies but they really have handled him well. Even after the shield split he has been great and is easily the best thing going for the WWE right now. |

Probably Rollins or Reigns. Maybe Ambrose, not sure how old he is. Minus Austin, look at the other faces of the company. Bruno Sammartino. Hulk Hogan. John Cena. Widely different, but they had LONG YEARS of success. I would LOVE to see Bryan as the face, but as much as it comes down to who's best suited for the spot, age has to be a factor. In wrestling standards, Bryan's got a TON of mileage on him. He's middle aged in regards to the sport, and like Cena now, you have to wonder if this neck/shoulder thing is going to pile up into a massive problem in the future. There is a reason athletes retire young. It isn't just money made. If there was assurance Bryan would never get hurt again outside of broken fingers and noses, at least for about 8-9 years, by all means. But Reigns has the most upside of the group. He's the youngest, has the least mileage and is at least willing to learn. On top of him being a meathead with a heritage, that's definitely going to help him get the edge on the others I think. We'll see though.

Daniel Bryan should be the man, and if not him then Dolph Ziggler. Both of them have the charisma, wrestling skill, and mic skills that are necessary to be the man.

I honestly don't see Seth Rollins or Roman Reigns being "The Guy" once John Cena leaves. Seth Rollins will be a main eventer much like Edge and Roman Reigns will end up like Batista. Dean Ambrose it's hard to tell where he'll be in the future, but for now I can only say Fin Balor will be "The Guy" cuz nobody really has impressed me more than he has and that guy has "Future" written all over him.

Pretty sure what he meant by injury prone, was how the injury went down. When Bryan was looking like he was set to comeback, another surgery, and another and then was rumored to possibly have another until he came back. It's not that he's prone to injury, it's how bad this injury was. Mix it with Bryan's style of wrestling, and it's not out of the realm of possibility he hurts himself sooner than later. Bryan's not a guy who cares about being hurt, I mean, look at that Morishima match. But with his style, size and high pace, he's at a higher risk of injury than a lot of guys. With a pre-existing condition, he's one bad bump from never wrestling again or worse. |
