loved the stories about Rude getting the Ultimate Warrior in a headlock several times and not allowing him to get up until he agreed to calm the f*ck down.
Have also heard plenty of stories about Hawk & Animal being genuinely tough.....so saying Rude was "the real tough guy between them" doesn't really make any sense to me. Have heard as many stories about them as Rude.

I know I heard someone say it on one of the wrestler podcasts recently about Rude being the bouncer guys were really scared of among that group of Minnesota animals, but what do I know, Hawk and Animal sure did seem tough to me though. I can imagine the Warrior stuff too, supposed to have been something like that at SS90, but I never noticed.

I've also read years ago, towards the end of rudes wwf run he didn't like Heenan who he felt was two faced and contributed to holding rude down the card as Heenan didn't like the focus to be on rude and his title shot but preferred it on himself as in the "Heenan Family" or something along those lines.

Heenan said on his RF shoot that Rude NEVER wanted him as his manager. It wasn't personal.... He never wanted a manager at all. I was so surprised by that because Heenan was an intregal part of Rudes act IMHO.

I remember 2 incidents that crack me up. When Rude was in WCW, PN News either disrespected him or pissed him off somehow. Rude quietly went up to him & gave him a left-handed open hand slap. Not only did it knock him out, but it gave him a bad black eye.
Another is from a Jake Roberts interview. While in airports, Jake would ask young fans to help him pull a rib on Rude. He'd ask the fan to politely go up to Rude requesting an autograph. Rude would smile & give them a signature. Then the kid(s) would say "Thanks Mr. Roberts!", pissing Rude off. I think it might be on the Jake Roberts DVD. It's so much funnier to hear Jake tell it.

Massive fan of Rick Rude. There has been plenty of love shown for him on the board over the years. Ive sent a few questions into Steve Austins podcast show in regards to Rude but Austin never responds to them! Love hearing his stories though. I want a body like Rick Rude's! The guy was in amazing shape.

Sorry, I know this topic is old, but i just assume bump this one than make an entirely new one.
So rumor was he was planning on making a return to the ring before his death. Ive even heard that it would have been with WWF instead of WCW. Does anyone else have any info on this or where it may have originated from? Atlthough, he left WWF due to the screwjob. I just wonder how much truth to it there is. I would have loved Rude and Hennig actually being a tag team.

I clearly remember reading about the news of his passing ,and in it a statement was made from his daughter that he was in the middle ofa 6 month training program to prepare him for his "upcoming return to the WWF". This was in an article in a local newspaper at the time. It just made the terrible news of his death all the more depressing. The "what if" factor of a healthy ,in ring, Rick Rude in 99.

There's been plenty of love on here for Rick Rude through the years, he's my personal favourite of all time! Rude will be in the HOF sooner rather than later I'd say.
Theres an in-depth post floating around on the internet from a forum I once found that was supposedly posted by a guy that knew Rude from some training he was doing prior to his death, according to that person he said Rude was in bad health shortly before his death and had suffered a collapsed lung and was officially dead for a short while until brought back by the medics luckily because he was in hospital at the time. It was a very legitimate sounding post, Ill try and dig it out and post it on here.

If I may ask, why is it that you (and others) think that WWE won't release a Rick Rude DVD anytime soon?! Is there some unresolved issue between Rick Rude & McMahon that is leading to Vince not giving the go ahead to a DVD compilation?! They have released other merchandise of him (action figures, trading cards) which leads me to believe that WWE and Rick Rude's estate are on good terms. From what I have read, a Rick Rude DVD is one of the most requested by fans so it would definitely sell well. At this point I think the best bet for a DVD would be if they ever induct Rude into the HOF.

From what I have read, a Rick Rude DVD is one of the most requested by fans so it would definitely sell well. At this point I think the best bet for a DVD would be if they ever induct Rude into the HOF. The only bad blood I can ever really recall, was when Rude returned to the live Nitro, on the same night he was on the taped episode of Raw, but I don't think there was long term heat over it, definitely none that would led Vince to block a DVD. I'm guessing we'll eventually get something of Rude's career down the line, especially considering most of his career is in the tape library. ANd I also wanted to toss in my love for Rude's work as well. He was just such a great heel, and I remember actually being surprised the first time I heard he was married, faithfully, to his wife. He did such a good job as a the ladies man, heel, it was hard to imagine him being with one woman. I always felt too, that it was too bad he left the WWF in 1990, because I would have loved for him to have gone over Warrior at Summer Slam in the cage, to win the title. And if WrestleMania 33 ends up being in Minneapolis, I would be shocked to not see Rude get put into the Hall of Fame at that point.

Woah just reading through that transcript that Chicago posted. Some really interesting things there, especially considering the time it was posted. Most interesting though is that Rude unsurprisingly hated Hogan and Flair. But surprisingly Sting? Considering this is 1996, it's clear that Hogan was not liked by many of the boys.

a lot of comments here ring VERY hollow considering his jump back to WCW in 1997.....obviously his opinion of Bischoff and desire to meet Hogan down an alley went out the window.
Also his opinion of Scott Hall is pure tripe. Have lost a LOT of respect for Rude after reading this interview. Seems as though a lot of stuff Heenan said about him was true.

I'm not so sure about that. Rude needed a check and obviously refused to work for Vince out of loyalty to Bret. Bret didn't like Bischoff either.

More Hogan bashing from guys who couldn't wait to climb into the top shelf of his ass when it suited them. Also his comment about Scott Hall is 100% bullsh*t.

He said that Rude was difficult and a jerk a lot of the time and hated having Heenan as his manager. as in he despised having a manager. Bobby tried to make the best of it with him but he seemed to take the decision of being put with a manager out on Heenan. This shocked me because Heenan was crucial to his success .

I think the AOL chat was a hybrid of kayfabe/shoot. Remember it was done well before the msg kliq incident. Also recent news (let alone past comments) should of confirmed to everyone hogan is a walking hypocrite and compulsive liar.
