So I feel like this thread has been made before but I wasn't sure what to search to find it. I am currently mostly into only collecting the era of 1987 through 1992 WWE figs. With the Legends line gone, and us only getting an average of 1 flashback per set, what are some figs that are almost GUARANTEED not going to get an Elite version? Reason I ask, is because I am going to buy some jakks classic superstars, and I can be patient if I think Mattel is going to make something in the future (for example Earthquake being recently announced). In my opinion, I doubt we will see...
DOUBT WE GET: Repo Man Berzerker Zeus Barbarian Warlord Sid Justice (i can see us getting psycho sid, not justice version though) Hercules Greg Valentine (lets face it, this fig will NOT sell) Skinner Bad News Brown (King) Haku The Headshrinkers Red Rooster (this is obvious) Bastion Booger (different era but I am including him anyway)
PROBABLE FUTURE GETS: IRS Brutus Beefcake Bob Backlund Mountie Nasty Boys Typhoon/Tugboat (depends on if we get tag team attire from Earthquake) British Bulldog with his braided long hair (hopefully with his bulldog accessory) Jim Neidhart Koko B Ware Rick Rude with longer hair/mullet Tatanka Better version of Roddy Piper Million Dollar Man with black/gold suit BASICS etc of Heenan/Jimmy Hart/Mr Fuji/Sherri/Luna Vachon etc
Let me know your guys thoughts and if you agree or disagree. Its very unlikely we would get a mountie for example, but if you give Mattel 2-3 years I bet we could see it. But at the same time I think they will just do more version of Hogan/Macho/Warrior and tons of other legends before they make obscure guys like that.

Mattel already said Windham is coming. They just need to figure which series he will be put in. Think it was the SDCC or RingFest q&a Bill mentioned it.

Guess I do need to track down Arn and Tully. Also add Ole to the list of won't be made. I'm sure he's still an ass.

I think it'll be Horsemen unless they go USExpress and release Rotunda as both IRS and Rotunda.

What would be reasons that we wouldn't see some of these figures?
Curious why Greg Valentine wouldn't sell? I would think he would sell the same or better than Bruno from E25. I see a lot of 80s guys, regardless of who it is, being ate up like crazy by us collectors.
I know we most likely wont ever see the winner of the Triple Threat Match from WrestleMania 20. Bill said that Chyna is highly unlikely due to her extra curricular activities (though we did get X-Pac.)
But if a guy was around for at least a year on a few PPVs and in the past had a figure with another company, I would say we "should" see them at one point. There's a lot of figures to be made by 2019.

I dont know, I guess the Hammer just has a boring look, and I feel like old school guys with cool gimmicks get bought up mcuh better, also by young kids just cause they look cool. I've seen stories on here where someone will be going to buy a fig and a little kid will have a flashback that he wanted, haha. Im not an old school WCW guy or anything pre 1987 so most of the ones you guys mentioned I don't care for. I dont know many of the russian/soviet wrestlers besides Niolai Volkoff which we already have, the boris and nikita guys i am not as familiar with. Dino Bravo should come with weight bench set for his record bench press he did at mania or rumble that one year, haha.

I gotta be honest with Valentine being on the latest countdown of (I forget what adjective they used) IC champs - which surprised the HELL out of me that he was mentioned and him ALWAYS being on someone's list of wants we WILL see the Hammer. You just can't NOT have him in the collection. And as far as facing the fact he will NOT sell - that's total hooey. If everyone wants him how can he not sell and being packaged 1 in a case. C'mon... I see people writing things like we won't get these guys: Tito Santana (ARE YOU KIDDING ME!? We got the Model and you don't think we'll ever get Tito? Please). Valentine as well...that's nonsense imo. Koko I think we'll see eventually. Muraco MIGHT be a strecth but to leave out The Magnificent Muraco - I doubt it. Don;t they have the licence till 2019? That's a ways away - and since we git JYD I see Studd coming soon. We're getting Earthquake. I'm sure we're gonna get more legends than most people think. Repo Man - yeah that's a stretch. That's like saying we'll get Nailz, Ron Bass, Skinner and the Berzerker. Warlord and Barbarian...I wouldn't throw them under the bus just yet...same with the mighty Hercules. He's only had one figure ever and he's brought up all the time. Herc may have been a wife beater but he was around for a LONG ASS TIME and is usually pretty fondly remembered. Paul Roma? NO. No Power and Glory but Herc I can see. Sid Justice - I'm positive we'll see Sid. I think the guys we'll NEVER get are actually pretty obvious like a Raven or something. Billy Jack Haynes - no soup for you! I REALLY would love the Bridman, Koko B. Ware. He would just look amazing if done right. I personally would love to see - and remember about the people making these figs, cuz much like the Four Horseman these guys we're around for the awesomeness that was the 80's - so I would love to see most of the LJN roster (minus the Corpral Kershners and Ted Arcidis and Outback Jacks) made. If they're gonna waste time on an Adam Rose and a Bunny - let's give us some REAL legends that this line deserves. I don't plan on buying any other wrestling figs EVER. This is it - I spent too much on this stuff as is and most of them are fantastic despite their flaws and I love looking at them and feeling good remembering people who were there for me every saturday morning to put a smile on my face originally. I just want to be able to look and see EVERYONE that mattered. Haku should be a defining moments imo - with the cape and crown. Then if they release Harley Race you can just use that on him and keep Haku in his purple trunks. Dino Bravi I wouldn't hold your breath one. He doesn't get any respect cuz he was kind of a dick. He always thought he was main event material LONG after his time had passed and they just put him places just to shut him up. And then he tried to screw the mafia over and they turned him into swiss cheese with machine guns. I'm not sure he's on the list of 'ok's lol But I digress... lol

yea like in another thread i said, by the time 2019 rolls around , im sure we will get to mid-carder jobber satus at some point if these lines survive till then. Some are more likely than others, however. But we all thought we may not see Doink or Quake , and look what happend. so i wouldnt doubt Matty really.

Gobbeldy Gooker ... unless MattelDesignTeam has changed his mind and wants to send me the prototype but no one else will ever get him then. That'd be mine 4 life.

Valentine & Santana (Chico as Venture used to call him- ) are my to biggest wants and I fail to see why either one would not sell?! As someone else mentioned, if they can release Bruno Sammartino (how many remember him?!) then we should definitely see The Hammer & Tito at some point- providing they are able to acquire the rights to make a figure. I think Hercules would sell based on the fact the last figure made of him was from LJN, it would turn into a collectors item.

I'd bet no Paul Roma or Dino Bravo. Still waiting on news of Muraco, Valentine, Studd and Santana though.

Muraco, Santana and the Hammer are all in my "Top 10" as is the Body, Billy Jerk Haynes, Dynamite Kid (and match in Davey Boy), Superstar Billy Graham and a young WWWF champ Bob Backlund. Another I would love to see but doubt we'll get is Pedro Moralas.
Fun Fact before I got injured at UPS they had me cover a route in another center and I made a delivery to Tito Santana's hair salon. I think it was in Succasunna NJ. As I recall he was a nice guy and gave me an "Areba!"

Million Dollar Man & Sherri drove past his shack on an episode of Superstars if I remember correctly.

It's hard to say, for all we know Mattel might have the WWE contact for another 20 years so we might end up seeing all these B level legends eventually. Also w/ the addition of the Hall of Fame series, who knows, maybe over time those sets will be expanded or they may give us other new sets with even more possibilities.
