Just was thinking about this, and the last series I remember getting at TRU was the wave with Flair in it. Here in Whitehall PA I never found any of the color coded sets there. Got the red at Laneco, and Purple and Blue at KayBee. Toys R Us was always the first place I'd look for figures as they use to have the most of them and they were cheaper than at the other places.
I don't get why they never carried any of the later sets. Maybe because they still had light blue cards warming the shelves so they never reordered the newer ones. I thought the first 3 waves in 93' were a bit weak and perhaps this had something to do with the eventual demise of the line.
Was this the case at TRU around the country? Or was it different at every store or region?

For me I remember the last series st Bradlees and Toys R Us to be the series Flair and Santana as well. I felt that they had 22 Flairs on the shelf and 18 Santanas.
I never saw the Green and Purple Cards anywhere during that 93-94 timeframe.

It may have been regional. I know here in Tampa/St. Pete FL, our TRU stocked the red cards. I remember how excited I was to see the Red Card Bret Hart hanging on the pegs. I don't recall what else was there though. I grabbed that one and ran.

I think I only saw hasbros up to the blue set with gonzalez at toys r us. I know I found the red cards with yoko bret and luger at kaybee. I bought most of my sets from kaybee. I didnt even know the green cards existed until I saw them on a random shelf at Hills (anyone remember that store?) lol. bought that whole set for the first and only time I ever saw them.

Toys R Us in Whitehall definitely got at least one case of the Red cards because I got my set there Did not see the Yellow Cards there but the Yellow Cards randomly started showing up at the Whitehall and South Mall KB Toys in early 1996. Never saw the Green Cards in any store around here but I suspect that was due to scalpers Russ (salt and pepper-ish hair, thin-frame glasses) and Marc (pale complexion, red hair, yellowish teeth) that would set up at card shows at the local malls. I knew Bud Carson at the time as well and he was adament against scalping so it wasn't him.

In MA I saw everything readily available (certain figures excluded, of course) except the green cards. Never saw a single one, but I know others had. I primarily shopped at TRU and KB Toys, though I doubt the other department stores and other stores which weren't actual toy stores had them all (such as what you experienced).

I started collecting in 1995 and the only ones I ever saw at TRU were the Giant Gonzales, Bushwackers, and Headshrinkers Blue Series. Everything else I picked up was at KayBee. Hills must have been a closeout store much like TJ Maxx or Big Lots. Most Green cards I have seen have Hills stickers on them. Can anyone confirm they bought Green Cards ever at major retail?

Also speaking of the waves in 93', I can't help but wonder if there were going to be 6 per asst on the first 2. As everything that followed besides the green set, all had 6 figures a set. Some thoughts: Warrior may have been planned, but was fired in November 92' Piper was huge in 92' but I think he left in late 92' or early 93', would have been cool to get a new figure in his ring gear Barbarian maybe? Not sure when he left the company, but if Warlord got one, I would think Barbarian would have been made Any other thoughts on this? Were there ever any rumors or even sketches for unreleased figures in 93'?

Like a few others have said, I had similar experiences. No yellow cards until late 1995 in KB (along with some 1992 randoms), not sure where the red or purple came from-my grandmother bought them for me. Blue cards were found in TRU (and tag team singles, purple Razor, black Shawn until early 1996) and green cards from Hills.
Great "what if?" about the 1993 blue card series'. I think some people consider the first two waves as one series but the card backs seem to indicate them as one series of five and then the other. By time I found them in stores, Warlor, Sid and Anvil were gone for 10 months or so being slightly behind on wrestlers who have left never seemed to be a care of Hasbro, I would guess.

I always considered them 2 sets, although popularly they're recognized as one set. They do have separate casepack numbers and I found the set with Mountie first and then the ones with Macho like 2 or 3 months later.

Nice to hear Bud Carson's name thrown in there! For me, I remember KB (Exton, Pa) having bins of Hasbros at the entrance for 3/$5! I remember purple Razor distinctly, but not the rest.

Man, I always felt like you guys on the East coast had more access to these figures. Coming from a small town in Northern California I always had to venture out to find some of my Hasbros. But I do remember not seeing any of the color coded sets at Toys R Us also. I think the last figures I bought there were Tatanka and Tito Santana. I ended up getting the rest of the color coded sets from KayBee Toys, although I never actually came across any of the yellow or green carded figures. Not a single one. It's like they skipped those two sets.

As far as I know, Western PA, WV, Virginia, Cleveland and Eastern Ohio and Eastern North Carolina did well with the Green card distribution just from talking to different folks. From what I hear, NYC, Philly, and Boston were nearly skipped over completely re: Green Card distribution.

So I was one of the lucky ones on the east coast I guess

In the middle of Illinois the last set I saw at TRU was the yellow cards. I had to drive 40 miles to Hills and nearest KB Toys at the time to get anything after that. Hills was like the destination for Hasbro collecting in the later 90s. Than when KB started getting those clearance repack cases? Good times. I filled a lot of holes in the collection then.

I moved around the UK a lot when i was wee, and can universally say that the last series on the shelf's here was the one with Giant Gonzalez and the Bushwhackers repaints.

Thanks for the horrible memories  I hated that. Also going to some stores and finding nothing but series 1 and 2 commons when the good stores had yellow cards and such. Ugh!

I remember here in Australia looking for WWf Jakks Slammers series 1 (I think that's what they were called - hitman, stone cold, taker faarooq, goldust, mankind) and they had hasbro green cards selling out for like $5!!! Now I wish I had bought all they had!!!
